Since 2010, Briscola has firmly established itself on the Canberra food scene and is arguably this town's most popular Italian restaurant. Now with a newly refurbished venue, it offers an unpretentious yet stylish approach to an authentic Italian dining experience.
At the forefront it’s about the food: simple, wholesome and traditional without being old fashioned. The “old fashioned” is evident in the service with Gianni and his incredible staff focusing on giving the diner a charming experience.
What sets it apart is how they transport you to Italy. Start with an aperitivo to open the palate, enjoy a local or Italian wine varietal and finish with a soothing digestive.
Briscola is situated conveniently in the heart of the city near hotels and public transport.
Sit inside or alfresco, Briscola seems to suit anyone… families, young couples, group functions and corporate luncheons. You can walk-in, but please book, it gets busy!

    The maitre'd makes you feel very welcome and special. Delicious special of prawn saltimbocca. Fantastic with my daughter's allergies.

    I booked a table for 9 at Briscola for my birthday dinner. The waitresses initially serving our table were fantastic, until we had a gentleman in a grey blazer bringing drinks out. He told us he had a beer for the table, to which my partner politely asked if it was X beer (I cannot recall the actual brand). The man remarked in an abrupt and rude tone that there was only one beer for the table before handing it to him. Unfortunately this service really let down our experience at Briscola and despite the quality of the food, we will not be returning.

    My first time at Briscola but my friends have been frequently. I can see why! A good menu, attentive and friendly staff, excellent service and delightful food! We had 6 guests and each of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service. Will definitely dine here again!

    Very good Italian food , well located in the centre of town. Good service and atmosphere. We will be back next time in Canberra.

    Lovely meal and very helpful service. This time we had pizzas - toppings simple and delicious on perfect bases - and dessert - excellent tiramisu.
