Italian
Craft pizzas, housemade pastas; an incredible assortment of wines and much more! Seasonal menu from Chef Sal Fernandez.
Sometimes one good idea leads to another. Such is the case with Bridges. With the success of Music on the Square, we began imagining what could happen next. The location next door (19 North Indiana) was up for sale, so we bought it and began thinking of what would be complementary. We started imagining Bridges as a wine bar offering interesting wines to Greencastle. But we soon added a wood burning pizza oven from Italy and more of a restaurant evolved. Ultimately, the idea of Bridges Wine Bar was born. The basement has become a private dining room called The Cellar, an open terrace area on top of the building, which will be used in nice weather, called The Rooftop, and there will be three fully furnished rental apartments which we call The Lofts at Bridges.
We hope you will like our addition to the Square of Greencastle.

We had family in from all over. They took our reservation for 10 without a blink. Ended up bringing 11 (3 small children). Food, beer and wine were excellent. Wine room downstairs was perfect for our group. Neat, new and clean. Prawns and polenta was fantastic. Pork osso was really really really good. The pork au jus was strong and flavorful. Grilled calamari was loved by the kids as it is served with almond butter and a berry paste (pb&j for them). Really tasted great and different. Katie was our server. We will be back. Fun place.

Best place to eat anywhere west of Indianapolis. We found this place a few months ago, and now it's our favorite spot to eat. Great food, great prices, great staff. We love the menu. Perfect size that allows them to do every dish to perfection. If the truffle popcorn is not on the menu, ask for it anyway...you will not be disappointed!

We had a 7 pm reservation on a Saturday night. We had 8 people in our group. We were seated downstair, which is so much more quiet and comfortable for a larger group. We did order Malbec and lemonade, but both were out. Other than that, our experience was lovely!

Everything from the time we walked in until we walked out was wonderful. The only discouraging thing was we set in the room with the band and it was so loud we could not hold a conversation.

Shared meatballs and polenta as appetizer and then shared a plate of chicken marsala which were outstanding. The chef is going to James Beard in NY —invited to compete. I hear he’s working on a quail dish. Forget the quail – take your meatballs on polenta instead. Go with your strength and forget the fancy-schmancy bird which only the insecure and pretentious would order. Trust yourself ! Go with the meatballs!

A wonderful birthday celebration for out of town guests. These folks travel a lot and have experienced many excellent restaurants and they thought Bridges ranked one of the best they had dined at. We shared seven different small plates and salads, 2 main dishes, several great bottles of wine and 3 desserts. Every one was exceptionally good.

Great find, even having to drive 35 minutes. Server Jennifer was amazing. We were on a date night with no kids and told her we wanted a slow, easy going meal. We took time to order each course individually- yet the food still came out quickly. I loved the wine selection and the amazing bacon wrapped shrimp pizza. The calamari was best I’ve ever had - light and amazingly tender. I look forward to returning to experience the rooftop.

Wonderful food! Bridges is a tremendous boost to the food scene in our town as evidenced by the need for reservations almost all the time for dinner. Lunch is new and less-crowded, but I think that will soon change. My only regret is the noise level. It was so loud on my last visit that there was a mix-up on the order because the server and I were not really able to hear each other.

This was my 6th time dining at Bridges and it was definitely a different experience than all the prior trips. This time was sort of a spur of the moment trip where I brought my 13 year old son. All the other times I’ve visited Bridges were with my wife and we were dressed for dinner, this trip I was dressed far more casual, jeans and a t shirt and my son had on shorts and a t shirt.

The reason I mentioned our attire is this, one thing I’ve always had and noticed about Bridges is the level is prompt, competent service by all the staff. I did not receive that level of service this trip and the server we had has been there since the restaurant opened, and I’ve seen her give great service to others, in fact she did give that level of service to her other tables that night. I believe our server made a calculated observation about me as a customer, and figured she wasn’t going to get much of a tip from us, so she concentrated on her other tables while I had an empty drink glass for at least 15 minutes, as did my son. Our salad plates sat empty on the table long enough that the hostess cleared them as it became obvious to her that we were not being served properly.

The food service was a little slow, but the restaurant was slammed and that’s to be expected, the serving size of the entrees was a little smaller than normal, but that was most likely due to different kitchen staff plating the meals.
Overall our meal was very good, but the level of non commital service was a turn off. Because in the end, the main reason I go to bridges is the fact I have come to expect a level of service that will make the entire experience very positive.
I still tipped the server 20%, and truthfully, she didn’t earn it!

I gave the value a good rating rather than a very good and this was solely due to the very mediocre service I recieved. The meal was very good, all aspects of it. We will be back, I’m chalking the service up to a moment of poor judgement.

The food was amazing-my boyfriend and I split the calamari, a ceasar salad, and a Wise Guy pizza. The sangria was delicious as well! The service was slow, but I noticed that our (very sweet) server was running all over the place as a server, food runner, bartender and bar back on a busy Friday night. I would guess this wasn’t typical, and they were probably short-staffed that evening, but it seemed like she could’ve used some help. Other than that, it was an amazing meal and the restaurant is beautiful!

My wife and I both enjoy excellent food and drink options. My wife is a very good cook so when we dine out, we look for interesting, diverse food and drink choices. We live in Indy where the dining options have improved significantly over the last decade. Bridges is without a doubt among the very best restaurants we have visited, if not THE best. Salads are outstanding, soups and charcuterie are top notch. Pizzas and pastas are exceptional. Meat and fish entrees and sides are scrumptious. Desserts are tasty. Drink menu and beer and wine lists are also plentfiul and delicious. Bridges is simply a gem that demands a visit from anyone within a two hour drive. You will not be disappointed.

I loved the atmosphere. Called to make a reservation and put us in the ‘cellar’ which I think they should specify if they’re making you sit down there, it was ok but not what we were exoecting. We got 4 pizzas, 3/4 were burnt but manageable and 1 was black. They seemed offended when we ask them to remake it. Waitress was super nice and chill. Wine was phenomenal & they have several options. The water they served was warm, would at least like to see chilled water. Overall 3/6 of us said we would come back to try again, other 3 were not fans.
