How the building looked as Shand’s, before we purchased it from the Shand family in 1995.The photo at right shows how the building looked as Shand’s, before we purchased it from the Shand family in 1995. The family operated a hardware store here until 1990. The sign you see was revealed after we removed several layers of paint from the building, during a renovation.

My onion soup was not hot, there was little or no cheese and it was too salty
Made reservations. Was told there would be music. There was none. Apps took 25 minutes to come out. Got the special but they forgot the salad. Salad 🦯 after dinner
Food was good, ate outside, overall good experience!
Awesome food. Awesome service. Love that they are pet friendly in their outdoor dining section. Wings are delish, pierogies are so good. Loved the short rib and cheddar panini. Delicious chicken fingers. Everything was really just great. Love this place.
The food was great, our waitress, Shannon was superb and the room was nice and quiet. The prices were a bit high, but I’m here visiting, so they could be the usual fare.
We had excellent service here. They walked us around the restaurant to the outdoor patio. This was nice because in some places you have to walk through overcrowded bars to get to the safety of outdoor dining. It is dog friendly, and there were 3 pooches there that night. The menu looked good but we will have to return to find out if the food lives up to expectations. The restaurant is located in a plaza and there is a wind tunnel that made our Florida blood freeze. Had to leave, and even then they said goodbye with a smile. Will return on a hot July evening.
Excellent service and good pub food choices. Had option for outside and indoor seating. Would definitely recommend.
Good pub meal. Excellent service. Menu has a little bit of everything you would need for a quick bite.
Was our first time there and it was awesome! Food was great, service was even better!! Definitely will go again!
We had lunch on Mother’s Day and everything was great. It wasn’t even crowded and the food was delicious. Our server was very attentive.
Not really sure what happened to this place. Used to be a favorite of ours. Looks like new management which us clueless mixed in with new staff. Manager yelling at servers. Food all messed up. Drinks were terrible. Felt bad for the server as he was afraid to tell the manager. Owner sitting at the bar clueless as rhe restaurant in chaos. Older woman at the host stand pretty clueless as well. Won't go back ever.
Consistently good food!
Good food, nice selection of beers and drinks. Clean place, we were seated right away even though we were there early. We ordered burgers that came with fresh cut fries. Their Reuben is really good. Nachos were delicious as well.
Wonderful food, wonderful service, great music, courteous staff.
Always a great goto place. Cold beer, great food, excellent service. I've never had a bad experience here.
They accommodated us even though they were busy. (Thank you!) Simple dinner with good prices.
We ate out on the patio, very nice, good service. All 5 dinners and appetizers were great. Manager came over just to check in with us. Recommend 100%
Noisy, filled to 100% capacity, Reuben soggy on bottom...
Good food but definitely a little noisy. Came here with 2 family members for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday. My nephew ordered beer battered chicken tenders and fries that were really tender and crunchy. It got high points from my 12 year old chicken tender connoisseur. My husband had the steak sandwich with mozzarella on garlic bread and he is still talking about how delicious it was. I ordered mac and cheese with pulled pork. I personally did not like it because it had the barbeque sauce on the pork and it made it the whole dish sweet. I found it to be off putting but that's just me. i think it would have been better if it was separated. They both tried it and loved it so it did not go to waste! We also ordered onion rings that were crispy and tender at the same time. Quite yummy. Can't speak to the drinks since we all just had soft drinks.
Met friend for lunch. Restaurant not crowded and nicely decorated. We ended up splitting 3 appetizers instead of entees since all the appetizers sounded so good. Fried Burrata and Pirogies were fantastic. I loved the Flatbread with Gorgonzola, fog, poached pear and arugula but my friend did not like the arugula on it. Service was attentive and prompt. Drinks were so good that we moved to the bar after eating. I will definitely be back
Excellent! We enjoyed ourselves and the restrooms were clean! :)
We were seated in the middle of the walk area for people going through the bar.
The onion soup was ok but salty, potato skins were ok but dried out grilled chicken sandwich was tasty but cold as were the sweet potato fries the panini was bland with a gravy that was way too salty and the fries were cold. Waitress was pleasant and friendly drinks were average. Overall not bad just not very good.
Wel, let me start by saying I’m not the type to ever leave a review. However, in this instance, I felt it was completely necessary. To start my experience off, I walked in and informed hostess I had a reservation for 4 for 7 P.M. (we were a group of 4 Hispanics). They stated they were just clearing off the table, that it would be a few minutes. No problem at all I thought. Then, another group of 4 came in (Of Caucasian descent) after us stating they also had a 7 P.M. reservation. To put it short, although we came in first, they were seated before us, and we waited close to 20 mins to be seated. It gets worse. We were seated, it took about 15 mins for a waitress to finally come over and take our DRINK order, never asked if we needed a few minutes to look over the menu or anything. My entire group finished our drinks and about 30 minutes after we were served our drinks, we had to chase the waitress down to put in our order. While she took our order, she seemed very annoyed and was rushing us as we gave our order (mind you, I watched how she took the orders of the others around us (also Caucasian) and she was very nice, took her time, offered suggestions) it was night and day..I also found it very unprofessional that she wore a TRUMP bracelet (listen, everyone has their own political opinions and i completely respect that), but to have it on display as a waitress, I found very distasteful. Although the food was decent, the poor service, the singling out of my group very seemingly because we were Hispanic, kind of says it all for me. We were not from the area, we’re from Connecticut, but I would suggest this restaurant to any minority group, because you will get treated less than. To be honest, I’ve never felt that way to this extent in any location before coming to this restaurant...Very disappointing, as it was my restaurant of choice for my birthday...
Service Was Awesome And Waiter Was Awesome. Wonderful Service As Always.
Our dinning experience was good, Second night open after a shut down and everyone was doing everything possible to keep the flow. lots of interest in dinning on Sat night, I would recommend reservations.
Good drinks and food! They seat you quick if you make a reservation.
Understaffed. The menu was forgotten, the drinks took too long, dinner and check took too long. Not enough beers for a flight. There was a party in premises outside which is fine, but that is where the attention was. Tables were not sanitized between parties. Large group of young people at a table more interested in drinking than eating, definitely over 10 people. Tables were not 6 feet apart without partitions.
Service is quick, the new menu is great. Highly suggest the baked clams!
It was crowded and didn't feel (covid-19) safe. They had separated tables for couples and reduced spacing!
Great pub and bar food. Attentive service.
Had a great experience recently at BHB for my sisters birthday. We were seated outside in their back courtyard area. It was setup nicely with tables at a good distance apart, all the tables had umbrellas setup, very nice atmosphere. The service & the food were excellent. Most of us ordered burgers which were cooked perfectly, I had the Patch Hog burger which was delicious, others in our party ordered the Steak & Mozzarella Sandwich and the Short Rib & Cheddar panini which were also excellent. Overall great experience, we would definitely go back.
They did not honor our reservation. There were road closures in the surrounding neighborhood, so it took us longer than usual to find parking. I called the restaurant to let them know we may be late, but we were on the way. Whoever I spoke to on the phone said they had a private lot for us to park in, and there would be no problem in saving our table, in fact it was being "setup right now". We went to the private lot, and it did not look legitimate. We luckily found nearby street parking. We got to the restaurant, and I overheard the hostess tell her manager that our table was just given away to another party. I told her I literally just called, and was assured we had a table ready. She said we'd still have to wait. A half hour later, we were seated, but the table they had for us was indoors, when we specifically requested outdoors for safety concerns. We then had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to setup a table. Clearly there are communication issues with this staff. Another party was also waiting past their reservation time. I understand there is extra chaos with COVID rules, but maybe this place should eliminate reservations, it seems they cannot handle them.
The food is good and the prices are fair, waitress was very pleasant and attentive
Food was good. Service not so much. Not worth another trip.
Staff was super nice, and helpful, the good had a really good taste. We enjoy our experience
Sat in the hops harden for an enjoyable al fresco meal with friends. Excellent service, really good casual food. Our waiter was attentive and accommodating. And.... Abraham is da bomb! Such a nice, friendly, attentive manager. Made for an excellent outing during these trying times . Thank you !
Great beer and good food
I was in the back dining room which was literally a big room with 6 tables in it, no ambiance and it was freezing so I was uncomfortable the whole time
It is my favorite place to go in Patchogue, and it was the first one I went to when I allowed to eat out . It never ever disappoints me
