   Breakwater is right on the water in Stonington Borough and pretty much ever seat seems to have access to views out of many windows. Their house salad and Caesar salad are so delicious. And they have an off menu lobster roll which is magnificent: warm tender claw meat tossed with butter and a bit of herbs it is one of the better or best lobster rolls out of the many I’ve had in my lifetime.

   The Breakwater is located on a pier which affords beautiful views of Stonington Harbor in Stonington Connecticut. The ambiance alone makes one’s dining experience excellent. When you add in the friendly service, today our service provider was Diane K. who was terrific, and you again have a 5 star experience. Then, the Lobster Roll, for lunch. The warm lobster roll provided a very generous portion pf lobster on a toasted roll, was one of the best we have ever enjoyed. Our experience was EXCELLENT. The Breakwater is EXCELLENT.

   Food was just delicious! Mushroom crostini had so much flavor. Scallops could have been a little more tender but linguini was cooked perfectly and sauce was flavorful but not too rich. Key lime pie had amazing flavor! Beautiful setting and terrific service. Highly recommended!

   On this visit, we enjoyed their prix fixe menu. Our server , Ryan, was awesome. The food , view, and atmosphere were perfect.

   Beautiful small restaurant on the ocean. Mari the chef is an outstanding cook. Food always good. Highly recommend.

   Flounder inappropriately described on the menu and when it came out on the plate, it was a huge disappointment. It was not fresh and not as described.

    Loved the grilled seafood. It came with a coconut rice side that was only moderately interesting. The squash soup was fabulous. There is a wonderful discount for seniors on Thursday nights.
