    Great spot directly on the water. Lots of umbrellas for outside tables. Also outside tables in the shade. Wait staff very friendly and efficient.

    First, our server was awesome! We loved the mocktail and n/a beer selections. My husband got the Snapper entree and he said it was good. I only wanted some lobster with butter and asparagus and our server accommodated. My lobster was good but my asparagus was gross. I’m rating food mediocre, with potential. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness- someone needs to use a bucket with hot soapy water and large sponge to scrub it down, after a good dusting. When we were seated, our table was not wiped down and the woman’s bathroom was gross (no idea about the men’s). A good cleanup would be good.

    We always have a great meal at Breakwater. Both the food, ambiance and service are always top notch and we most definitely be back again and again.

    Breakwater is right on the water in Stonington Borough and pretty much ever seat seems to have access to views out of many windows. Their house salad and Caesar salad are so delicious. And they have an off menu lobster roll which is magnificent: warm tender claw meat tossed with butter and a bit of herbs it is one of the better or best lobster rolls out of the many I’ve had in my lifetime.

    The Breakwater is located on a pier which affords beautiful views of Stonington Harbor in Stonington Connecticut. The ambiance alone makes one’s dining experience excellent. When you add in the friendly service, today our service provider was Diane K. who was terrific, and you again have a 5 star experience. Then, the Lobster Roll, for lunch. The warm lobster roll provided a very generous portion pf lobster on a toasted roll, was one of the best we have ever enjoyed. Our experience was EXCELLENT. The Breakwater is EXCELLENT.
