Despite our reservation, we learned, in the day of our reservation (January 09, 2020) that the restaurant closed at the end of 2019 and is now another business entirely. We wonder if OPEN TABLE was aware that the restaurant had closed.
This place is closed for a remodel
Pleasant surprise in this small, smartly decorated Russian oriented restaurant in Pikesville. Owners and staff from various republics of the former Soviet Union. Tasty food, well portioned and attentive service. Everyone can find something on the menu whether fish, meat, chicken or Russian delicacies. Strudel was very good. Try it, you'll like it. BYOB.
Going to Bravo Restaurant is an experience. Not only do you get a tasty meal, but the owners often sing either solo or together. It's a BYOB bistro which is a plus. Some meal highlights were the green salad with avocado, strawberry spinach salad with avocado, potato pancakes with sour cream, complimentary homemade hummus and pita bread, whole branzino, duck confit, blintzes and apple strudel. I recommend supporting this local restaurant!
I had heard good things about the restaurant, but did not know what to expect. Had the haddock steak and it was really very good. Service was a bit slow on the fish, our companions had stuffed cabbage which arrived much sooner. Perhaps a problem with the fish's preparation. Enjoy the ambience and entertainment and overall quite a pleasant evening
Wasn’t what I expected for a father’s day brunch. Somewhat disappointing.
Very good mostly Eastern European food, good size portions. Owner also sings with an excellent voice to provide a bit of entertainment. Short on staff so service is slow but pleasant. Well worth a return visit.
Food was delicious. Appetizers are particularly tasty and items one rarely finds on menus. Good for sharing. A truly unique experience.
We made reservation to this restaurant without prior knowledge of this place.
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, that there was live performance, and, especially by friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, and attentiveness of our waiter who tried to please us every and each way he could.
There also was very special crowd, not large, but shared lots in common, and we fell like a part of it.
This unique restaurant is a hidden gem. Very special food, with hints of Eastern Europe but definitely nouvelle cuisine. Lovely, romantic atmosphere, low noise level and great service. Would highly recommend!
Great food, a lot of choices and excellent service. Reasonably priced.
The place is small and elegant. When we were there on a Saturday they had two live singers crooning romantic songs, which was a really good surprise. The fried appetisers were tasty, as was the chicken liver mousse in little pastries. The pickled vegetables were good if a bit too soft. But the entrees were all overcooked and the halibut was so salty my companion couldn't finish it. My chicken thighs and my friend's liver were also overcooked. It's BYOB, and there is a liquor store just down the street. I'd say make a meal out of apps and sides
A wonderful mix of European and Middle Eastern Cuisines. We ate too much because we were trying so many of the different dishes. Look forward to going again.
Atmosphere, food, owners & staff very friendly & accomadating
Really enjoyed ! A real change of pace. Food was very good and Dennis our server was very attentive!
Overall, I always enjoy eating at Bravo. It feels cozy. The white table cloth, pretty plates and lovely silverware (the knives need to be sharpened though). The Branzino was awesome. The Avocado salad could have used less salt and after I added lemon juice & pepper it was very nice. The chef should use olive oil with that. Also the grilled eggplant needs to be cooked in advance, as they take forever to soften . Mine was undercooked, tough and unpleasant. The rest of the grilled veggies were great.
Love the matzoh ball soup. Service was slow due to missing server who was sick. But I can understand it.
Our first experience at Bravo was very good. Our server, the only server/hostess in the restaurant on a Friday evening, Alla, was wonderful - very personable and hard working. The food was all delicious - perfectly prepared. The menu selections are interesting- offering dishes that you won't see anywhere else. Very authentic Eastern European dishes. The prices are great! The only issue was that the pace of the meal was a little off- with various appetizers intermittently being served. They were very busy and I assume everything is being cooked to order (it was all nicely fresh and hot) but I definitely think they need a little more help in the kitchen. We will definitely be back just be prepared for a nice leisurely meal.
This was our first visit here, and certainly not our last. Everything was perfect for my birthday. Everyone there was very accommodating. Food was exactly what I was expecting, and the quality and quantity was superb. Please give this place a try.
This place is everything. Very intimate, music was great and parking was sufficient. The location might raise an eyebrow because it’s in a shopping center but get in there. It’s perfect!
Great ambiance and the food was quality.
Our party of three went to Bravo for our regular Thursday-out dinner. We greeted very friendly and taken to our table. Water was set before us with the menu. Pita points with a bowl of hummus was set on the table. Our waiter gave a few minutes and then came by asking if there was anything questions about items on the menu. We had none but the menu did have some Russian items on it that would be candidates for questions.
My wife ordered the salmon, her cousin ordered the liver and onions and I ordered what I thought was going to be meatballs [which was a combination of meats and other items] called Mititiki. Our plates were cleaned! Each of us said delicious and well presented. And believe me the price was also terrific.
I will say Bravo is the best buy for dinner in all of Pikesville and beyond. Oh, and the cousin ordered dessert - I forget what to call it but it was fabulous and sufficiently large for him to share but he wouldn't we will certainly go back for that and to try their grilled chicken and cherries.
Lovely, warm restaurant with amazing food. My 89 year-old father said the delicious items brought back childhood memories of his mother's cooking. We will definitely return (often!) to Bravo!
Food was delicious, service was attentive, would dine again, that being said, our pot of tea never came out. It wasn’t on our bill, I think the waiter completely forgot. The space is nice but a tad cozy, conversation from other tables have to be actively ignored to prevent eavesdropping.
Food was very good. Service was outstanding. Menu has a good variety with a wide range of prices.
Food was very good although not a great value - a bit pricy. Service was also very good, but noisy children dampened the whole experience. Also, no decaf coffee or tea? Ever? Maybe I'll go back for lunch.
The food at Bravo is wonderful and you get a lot for the money you pay. We did, however pick a strange night to eat there. There were about 30 people having a holiday party with several yelling at one another in Russian, drinking heavily, dancing wildly to the music, and going in and out to smoke. Although it was so noisy that we could not talk, it was fun watching everyone. Also the service was very slow. The entertainment was very good with the owners singing Russian songs. The restaurant owner was very nice and she put forth an extra effort to came over to our table to make sure we were OK. My friend left her hat at the restaurant, as well as her boxed leftovers. The next day the owner called to say that she had the hat and that they had also put her leftovers in the refrigerator. I plan to go to the restaurant often, but I will make sure that they are not having a private party when I go.
Disappointing. The only saving grace was the use of a groupon to save $15.00; a byob policy and the hunmms and pita (5 stars) and the Greek salad (4 stars), the wait staff when we were the only couple in the restaurant was wonderful, but apparently by himself as tables filled he was overmatched; a request for more onions went unheeded till i was 3/4 thru; the liver and onions was served with no gravy and cold onions and the fried chicken crushed to within an inch of its death (not as tall as a pancake)
As good a meal as we've had in quite some time... and, given its rather wide-ranging menu, definitely worth a return visit soon.
Service was slow. We waited about an hour to get served even though there were only two other tables occupied.
Very good dinner. I liked the croquettes and the chicken with cherry sauce. I'll be back.
Everything we ordered was very good. Authentic greek salad was very fresh. The whole Bronzino was so yummy. You just have to be willing to “fool” with the bones etc...lamb chops were tasty! BYOB!
The food was delicious. Prices very reasonable.
Loved the food. Problem with the rib eye steak. I asked for med rare. Sent back twice and settled on vreat
What a charming neighborhood gem. We were greeted warmly... our server Tim was perfect - attentive but not overbearing. And the food was different but delicious. The strawberry and cheese salad was light and refreshing. The puff pastries filled with minced lamb and spices - don’t miss these yummy bites!! For dinner I shared the Mitittea (?) - awesome flavor. A truly delightful experience. You can bring your own wine:) we look forward to returning very soon!
Halibut was awful!!!
Excellent lamb chops, blini with red salmon caviar. Delcious strudel. Lively music and good singing at 8pm. Nice, attentive waiters. Easy parking. A very nice experience. Great value. Will return and bring friends. BYOB.
It's a modest location, but the service was great. Thanks Dennis for your attentiveness. The menu isn't your run of the mill choices. It's Eastern European. We had some delicious apps and the main meal was also tasty. We will definitely go back to try some of the other different choices.
Great food, amazing service, nice ambiance - I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends
First visit tonight. Food and service were excellent. Starters were Olivier salad, herring & potatoes, poached egg & gravlax and green salad (spinach & avocado). Main courses- Mititei, lamb chops, pan fried chicken, chicken & cherry sauce. EVERYTHING was delicious. Our server Tim very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning.
