Food was great. Started with the avocado shrimp that was a great start to our evening. I got the mixed grill plate. My girlfriend got the beef tenderloin and I wish I would’ve ordered that as well. We got a bottle of Jordan Sonoma Co. Cabernet Sauvignon that was wonderful. The highlight of my night was the wine. We ended the night with a chocolate creme brûlée. Our waiter was very attentive and informative. I was pleased with our visit. The other 2 couples that were with us were very pleased with their evening as well. Props to Peter Brave and a very well run establishment.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars across the board is because it's extremely hard to get to this place. The food, cocktails, everything else were fabulous. I tagged the noise level "energetic" because there was a lot of kitchen noise. I do recommend it if you can find it and get in. A reservation is probably necessary on weekends. We were there on a Thursday and several (very well socially distant) tables were open. There is also outdoor seating, but the lighting was from small LED lanterns and now that darkness comes early, I'd choose indoors.
Great, as usual. We had the perfect table overlooking the river and downtown. A bald eagle landed on the shore as we were watching and just hung out. The salad, salmon encrusted with pine nuts, and the veal with a lime butter sauce were delicious and perfect. The server paired us with a very good dry full bodied red wine which we also really enjoyed. Peter Brave came by to check on us. A first class place we are so lucky to call local.
We had the perfect anniversary dinner at Brave New, including 2 visits to our table from Peter Brave. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. The view and weather could not have been better. Tables were comfortably spaced on the outside balcony/deck. Everything we ate was flavorful and delicious. The cocktails were perfect. We were impressed with a sign at the entrance that all staff are vaccinated. Even so, all those seating and waiting on us were still masked, even outside, which we appreciated as even we who are vaccinated can spread the virus if we are exposed and contract it. A great experience overall!! We will be back!
Brave new never disappoints. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, and the service was wonderful. We loved it and will be back! Thank you.
As has been said in previous reviews, it is a little hard to find because it is in a bank building not in a standalone building as you might expect. Despite this, the food and service were excellent, and we had a wonderful evening. We will definitely visit again when we are next in Little Rock.
We were outside when the temps dropped 20 degrees and we froze to death!
This beautiful, peaceful setting (the bald eagle sighting was a plus) overlooking the Arkansas River adds to the enjoyment of this excellent restaurant. Friendly and attentive service and perfectly prepared food makes this a "must-visit" stop when we're in Little Rock.
Excellent as usual. Great food and service whether it’s lunch or dinner.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the food is excellent!
Great food and service in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Chef Brave checks on each table once or twice each time we eat there to insure everything is perfect
As usual, the food was great, the service excellent and the river view was wonderful!
Great service, tasty food, and an amazing ambiance. Been back numerous times and always happy to return.
Wonderful birthday dinner.
The best place to enjoy lovely dinner on their patio. They have the best patio and the oysters are the best. Love coming here for our 44th wedding anniversary. Will definitely be back to have another delicious meal on their patio.
Highly recommend!! Fabulous food (fresh seafood flown in daily & perfectly prepared), beautiful setting overlooking the river & excellent service (thank you Major). We have already booked our next reservation when we return to Little Rock in a few days.
The ambiance and the service were great. It was a bit puzzling trying to find the restaurant as it’s in a under construction industrial lot and not anywhere one would expect such a place to be but once we found it we were very impressed with the layout and decor. The server also made a great wine pairing recommendation.
The proteins were cooked perfectly. The duck two ways and the venison special were both delicious.
The smoked tomato soup was also very tasty.
The vegetables paired with the entrees however seemed like an afterthought. The batonnet glazed carrots and the roasted zucchini were both undercooked. The halved zucchini was also roasted with the seedy middle left in so the end result was a mushy seedy center with a firm squeaky outer layer.
Overall we really enjoyed ourselves, but it would have been a perfect evening had the same care given to the proteins also been given to the vegetables.
Service was slow to respond to requests. One request was completely ignored. Walleye was still too bland.Ambiance was ok.
Excellent food and service and the view is spectacular. Best in town.
Spent one night in Little Rock and wanted to find a really great place to eat so I searched the local reviews and saw all the excellent comments about this place. I must have been at the wrong place because there was nothing excellent about this food. It’s not that it was bad, it was just mediocre. I ordered a martini and when I went to eat one of the olives it had what looked like mold on it! That was a warning of things to come. We had a shrimp and avocado appetizer that was anything but appetizing. The shrimp were limp and soggy and the avocado was actually starting to brown! I ordered salmon and it had obviously been sitting under a warning lamp because it was very dry in spite of the congealed pesto sauce on it. It came with carrots and a couple of small red potatoes that were burned on the bottom and very dry. The best part of my meal was the side salad and carrots. My husband had they mixed grill and he said the meats were sub par but the sauce was good. The prices were much too high for the quality of the food. The positives were a good bottle of wine and a very nice waiter who apologized for the moldy looking olive and tried very hard to please. I’m sure Little Rock has some good restaurants but this is definitely not one of them!
Great food and service, with indoor and outdoor seating options. The veal Milanese was excellent. Owner is onsite.
Excellent food that never disappoints. Eating on the back deck with a view of the Arkansas River just adds to the experience.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Darling local charm and incredible service.
We love eating outside on the deck. Everyone is very polite and helpful . Our waiter was very friendly and helpful explaining the specials for the night. It was our anniversary and Peter took our picture, a very special night. Thanks for your role in making it wonderful ❤️❤️
Food was excellent as was the service. The restaurant is a bit difficult to locate but we’ll worth the effort.
Food was exceptional as always. You cannot beat the walleye. Beef tenderloin and salmon were wonderful.
Delicious dinner and excellent service! My friends and I had a wonderful time!
I hosted my sister and brother-in-law from out of town for dinner outside. They raved about meal, service and setting. They remarked how difficult it is where they live to find a pleasant, calm atmosphere at a restaurant like Brave New Restaurant.
they are very consistent with awesome service and very good food! Great place great food! I would recommend to everyone!
This is a favorite place for us. Have never been disappointed.
The food was wonderful and the staff was attentive. Great place for my first date.
This was a delicious find! The feast started with the setting by the river, so lovely. We had barely been shown to our table when our water glasses were filled. Soon thereafter our alert and timely server arrived. He was attentive (not overly) all evening. The menu offerings covered all the bases. Our party of three ordered three separate entrees. The beef tenderloin was tender and glazed with a stunning sauce. My husband's duck was the best I'd ever tasted. My mother-in-law's veal with lime won, though! I'll definitely order it next time - and there will be next times!! Brave New Restaurant is an asset for Little Rock!
The place was packed and the usual attentive service was impacted. Specials were, as always, very good. I had the grouper special, prepared Mediterranean style. They ran out of it. My favorite ice cream is, and always will be their white Russian ice cream. I tried the Grand Marnier/ginger ice cream this time.
A nice restaurant for our anniversary. Good menu selection with variety. It was quiet and the food was tasty and well presented. On the negative side, the restaurant is not easy to find, being ‘buried’ in the bowels of a bank building, Interestingly they inquired as to the occasion when I made the reservation, which I provided, but there was no mention of it by our hostess or server.
My wife and I decided to try a new place this weekend and Brave New restaurant was what we decided on. Everything was fantastic, our food was all delicious. I had the Walleye special and my wife had the beef tenderloin. This was the best piece of fish I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked, very sweet and flavorful. It was almost like eating crab. I also got a couple jumbo scallops, ala carte, and they were also the best I’ve ever had. The beef was tender and cooked perfectly. It had amazing flavor! For dessert we had the chocolate creme brule, and that was outstanding as well. Wanted to bring special attention to our waiter, Ryan. This is the only time I’ve ever been to a restaurant where a server was extremely enthusiastic about the food, and working there. I was super impressed with his ability to describe the food we would be having.
We will absolutely be back and I want no other server other than Ryan, so we will call ahead to make sure we are in his section.
Peter Brave was cooking tonight. The food and service was impeccable.
Oysters, brie, wine, beautiful evening, view of river and good conversation with friends. We were there 2 hours and did not feel rushed. Food was very good, service friendly. I thought our 6pm reservation would mean the place would be empty but other diners knew this was a place to relax and enjoy. By 7pm no table was empty. I saw no kids, and it was nice to enjoy an adult dinner and conversation without kids in background.
Outstanding food and service as always. We were lucky enough to get a table out on the deck and with absolutely perfect weather, it made for a most memorable night. The scallops are always a favorite and the grouper special was delicious. Can't ever go wrong with Brave New especially when it is deck weather.
I enjoy the restaurant and can appreciate the offerings, however, this particular evening the food was just not great. This place stays very busy and it could be that it is just not for me.
Perfect outdoor dining experience. Weather was perfect. View nice. Shade came over table. Good service! French onion soup was great. Lobster roll good but not great. Lobster is so often tasteless if not done right and the bun was overwhelming and the sauce got the bun soggy. Grouoer Was good. Side vegetables were a bit dry. Chocolate creme brûlée worth a special trip. Overall great experience
