Started at the bar with Omar explaining the different white wines by the glass. Very educational. Autumn explained the menu options. Very professional. We started with the poached pear / frisée salad. Very tasty ! We both had the Duck Confit plate for dinner. Outstanding !!! As we were finishing, the Chef came out of the kitchen and stopped by to check on us. That was very impressive. He ended up buying us an incredible raspberry dessert to share. He made us feel like regulars. Thx to everyone here. We will be back. Soon !!!
Highly recommend this restaurant. Have eaten here twice for breakfast. Can't wait to dine here for lunch and dinner.
Excellent food and large portions. Nice selection of wine and good depth of gins!
Restaurant was very cold. Server did not bring plates to share for shared salad nor did he ask for another round of drinks. Did not offer dessert at end of meal. Ran out of mostly all seafood and portions were very small. Will not return
Excellent meal. Loved dining in the lobby by the tree.
was seated quickly, greeted at table quickly, but server did not show up for 13 minutes later, for Christmas dinner there were not a lot of people there for that long of wait.
It was Christmas Dinner! Everything was top shelf! Fabulous Experience!
We came for Christmas and the prix fixe menu was delicious.
Everything was well done and the flavors were sophisticated and complementary.
They accommodated my gluten intolerance, and I did not feel there was a compromise in any way.
The service was quite good, as well.
We will come again when next in SLO.
Food just wasn’t very good for the price. Everything else was great.
Had Thanksgiving dinner at Brasserie. Returned for Christmas Eve dinner. Absolutely excellent, from reception, to seating to dinner and service, to desert. Salmon and crab Wellington was wrapped in a beautiful flaky crust, ranking up with the "hautest" of cuisine I've ever had. You pay for what you get, but well worth it.
Drink was great, service was nice, food was less than ok. Our salad came unwashed- unacceptable! We were chewing sand, had to send it back.
The seafood dish was overrated! Just ok flavor, no crispy potatoes as described in the menu. Veggies were grossly chopped- very rustic.
Brussels Sprouts was just ok- the peanuts could have been at least chopped and toasted- it seemed they were added straight from the bag. And peanuts…why not hazelnut that has a deeper and more sophisticated flavor.
Dessert? Didn’t even risk it. When our server said creme brûlée had been made couple hours ago (not fresh), and that even the burnt sugar was already made, “check please” was our best option. Such a waste of our time- very disappointed that we spent our 15th anniversary trying a “new place”.
Dinner was amazing. We all got separate dishes and were all very happy with them. Lauren was a great server and very attentive. Will definitely be going back
First off the venue is way overpriced for the level of food served. 4 guests but 3 did not like the food the other had mussels which were ok. Worst Caesar salad. Scallops over cooked and salty… Bouillabaisse terribly and one mussel not opened which means it couldn’t be eaten. Beef Bouguignon was so so. When we called asking about corkage was told it was $35 waitress clarified that if we bought one bottle we would get zero corkage on one we brought. Too late cause we didn’t bring…$30 corkage for basically a glorified coffee shop experience outrageous. Had to ask for bread/butter 3 times!!! Servers should be better dressed for the price of the food. Work shirts and jeans not ok
Oh yea straw that broke the camels back. We told waitress we were celebrating 2 birthdays. We got zero complimentary desserts…not even one to share!!!
Will not be back and we are locals.
$100 per person for dinner…such a waste of money
Beautiful French restaurant in downtown SLO, with outside street patio. Went for relaxing lunch during Thanksgiving weekend and loved the spot. Close to downtown shopping but on side street so not to crazy. They serve Brunch more than lunch but everything was delicious.
Have been there for brunch several times. Food quality still good but portion sizes noteably smaller for same price and plating not as conscious/ attentive to detail. I have to assume a new chef? Prices are high, considering these changes
Fantasia. We went for their Thanksgiving dinner. My fiancé got their turkey dinner and he loves it. The plate was huge! I got the salmon and the skin was wonderfully crispy and extremely flavorful. My fiancé moved the margarita. It had black salt in the rim and was spicy. I had a Pinot Noir that was delicious. We sat outside and watched the stars. The pre-fixed menu was about $65 a person.
A lovely Thanksgiving meal. Everything we could hope for.
We had Thanksgiving Dinner at The Brasserie. The Prix Fixe menu was excellent, my kids and I each ordered a different entree and dessert. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the restaurant was quiet but lovely.
I felt that although it was a little pricey, it was a good deal. The portions were very generous and we had leftovers.
We would highly recommend it and will likely go back again next year.
Beautifully crafted salmon dish preceded by a superb pumpkin soup and veggie salad. Servers and manager attentive and personable. Spoke with chef. He's a keeper.
Service was decent, but the dirty plates kept piling up and nothing was picked up, despite not having any more room on table. We had to move plates to empty table next to us. Truffled goat cheese and Mushroom was very good, the steak frites was not very good, especially considering its $46. Fries were soggy and steak was very tough and fibrous with a very smoked flavor.
Everything about the restaurant is great: the food, the service, staff, and ambiance. When we have time to drive down to SLO for the weekend, this is one of our favorite places for dinner.
Long wait for food, over 40 minutes. Out of cider. Lettuce was old and brown. Pizza was good.
Wait staff could not have been nicer! Very pricey for what it was, but food was really good and had some unusual flavors.
The atmosphere and waiters were excellent! The food quality was good but way overpriced. Very small portions. The corkage fee is $30.00 but we were offered to purchase their wine, waiving the fee. They offer a wide range of wines, but still at a 300% markup.
We will go back for drinks and sit in their outside patio, which is warm and cozy. Their cocktails have fun names and were very good.
Great food! Smaller portions but still plenty. Very cute place!
Craig gave great advise on menu options that satisfied our cravings and dietary needs. Great service.
Neighborhood gem on a quiet side street in SLO. Valet parking and cool vibe for multiple eating and drinking occasions. We sat out on the patio, heaters made it cozy. Excellent and friendly waitstaff and sommelier, started with signature cocktails, duck confit (AMAZING), split a salad and each got French onion soup, not your ordinary bland broth, this had red wine reduction and was the best I’ve ever had. My husband had the mussels which had a creamy sauce, also fabulous with plenty of crunchy bread. We had a lovely local wine and finished with the cheesecake without crust, delish! The whole evening was really nice and we will try the hotel next time we are there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Food was delicious and Craig was awesome
My wife and I are always looking for restaurants serving French cuisine. So we gave Brasserie SLO at try. The service was very good, and the wine list was excellent. The food just okay, and bit pricey for the quality (aka 'value'). I was excited to try the French onion soup, but the onions and broth quality were lacking. It reminded me of commercial French onion soup from SYSCO, a restaurant supply company. If this is the case, it would be nice if they would make their soup base in-house. There is nothing better than a freshly made caramelized onion soup! Also, it would be good if they offered a mineral water, not just soda water from the bar. We'll return in the future to try other menu selections.
The food and presentation was very good, but the service was sub-par. We also sat on the patio and they did not have any heat lamps which made the dining experience a little uncomfortable.
Perfect evening. Quiet Sunday dinner in new fav restaurant. Waitperson Xochi timely, knowledgable, friendly; set the standard for professional, understated service. Executive chef stopped by for nice conversation. New fall menu very nice. Great wine list. We’ll be back.
Treated some hardworking college kiddo’s to an amazing meal. Was a great visit, great food. I loved my decaf cappuccino with crème brûlée dessert.
The Quiche Lorraine was delectable!
I even accidentally broke a glass when we took a family photo and the staff was incredibly gracious...not making me feel any worse than I already did! I look forward to my next visit!
We were warmly welcomed. The food was delicious and the cocktails were unique and very good. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent service and delicious food. Loved sitting in their outdoor covered courtyard. Enjoyed a variety of items on the menu and yummy drinks. Was hoping for some pasta dishes, but happy with our dinner and app selections.
Our server was awesome. Very attentive and kind. Definitely a place we will return too.
Our server Eziquel was outstanding! The girl who seated us was a bit clueless but the actual service of everyone else was fantastic! The food was good but really expensive for what you got. The drinks are over priced and not worth the money with the exception of the blood orange margarita. Still overpriced but the recipe was delicious.
Great food! Service was fantastic! Great new gem that's in the heart of down town
Great mushroom pizza
Burger & fries was bland
Was best on menu
Food and service were excellent.
