   NIce bright, cheery place on a busy square in the old city. They serve good food and wine and the staff are very good. It can be a little noisy during busy times - late afternoon to early evening as the mix of locals, tourists, and guests in the hotel packs the place- just what a brasserie should be.

   Our waiter, Tristan, was exceptional. Also, a snafu with the kitchen caused our food to be significantly delayed. The restaurant reacted extremely well by providing us with a nice fruit platter, a glass of Prosecco for my wife and a significant reduction on our total bill. This was our second time at Brasserie 701 and we will return.

   Nous avons eu de nombreuses réservations dans cet établissement et avons toujours été très satisfaits. Toutefois, cette fois-ci, rien n'allait : La serveuse n'avait clairement pas une attitude à la hauteur de la réputation du lieu : elle coupait la parole, sentait fortement la cigarette à chaque retour de pause et ne savait pas servir le vin correctement. Le reste du service affichait des tenues beaucoup moins professionnelles que d'habitude (pantalon tombant, chemise mal repassée, polo non rentré dans le pantalon...). La musique était forte et dynamique, digne d'un bar du centre-ville de Montréal, bien loin de l'ambiance plus douce et raffinée habituelle. À cela se sont ajoutés plusieurs bruits de vaisselle cassée au cours de la soirée, à de très nombreuses reprises... Enfin, grosse déception sur le foie gras, qui n'était pas correctement dénervé, et donc limite immangeable Nous avons été profondément déçus cette fois-ci. Nous espérons sincèrement que le restaurant ne perdra pas l'identité de raffinement qui faisait jusqu'ici tout son charme.

   I enjoyed an early dinner (late lunch?) here. The restaurant is very appealing. High ceilings, interesting art and room fixtures, including a beautiful bar. Staff were very friendly, attentive but not overly so. They more than tolerated my "off hours" orders. The food was delicious and nicely presented-plating was quite pretty. There were some interesting cocktails available. The by-the-glass wine options were somewhat limited, but had a range of options that covered my pallete well. The location in Old Montreal near the Basilca is convenient, easy to find and charming.

   Excellent service à la clientèle, la serveuse explique à merveille les choix qui sont offerts. À recommander en famille, entre amis ou souper d’affaires.

   Best waiter I’ve had—ever? We had 3generations at a table for 6 in the corner window. Our waiter anticipated our needs, was responsive, polite and professional (neither too grave nor too talkative). The food was wonderful and times perfectly. This is a special trip for us, and our experience at Brasserie 701 was a highlight.

    Outstandingly wonderful. Unfortunately the room is a bit too noisy. Besides that I will not miss the next opportunity to go there.
