We got the mussels appetizer which was ok but the broth was tasteless and watery. Basically tasted like water with a splash of wine and some butter with no flavor. Had to add a lot of salt and pepper to make it palatable. The chicken and leak pot pie was awful. Clearly leftovers from yesterday or earlier. Stale dark meat chicken mixed with some overcooked mushroom and tiny leek pieces. Tasteless mush and I couldn’t stomach it. Has no flavor except for the staleand dry chicken. The pastry cover was good as were the mashed potatoes. The blood orange pie was terrible. Very thin and unappetizing with sweet/sour taste. Lemon gelato on top was decent. The waiter couldn’t make a sensible recommendation except for short ribs even though I told him I don’t eat meat. We were rushed through dinner and they didn’t have two of the items on the menu I was interested in and they didn’t have profiteroles dessert on the dessert menu either when I asked for it. Everything is overpriced for the quality. It was supposed to be a Mother’s Day dinner and that was never acknowledged even though I put “special occasion” on my reservation. It was very disappointing and I won’t be back. Nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone else.

We weren’t informed that brunch ended at a certain time and got there as they switched to dinner menu. That was fine and we adjusted and ordered other food. Our appetizers were just a meat and bread board and a Cesar salad and took over 30 min to come out. Drinks sat empty and table unchecked for at least 20 minutes. One in our party decided on two appetizers as her main course and ordered them with our other entrees. They came out about 15 minutes ahead of the rest of the food. Overall not a good experience. For the prices you pay for the food and drinks here, I expected a certain level of service which we did not receive. Our server seemed more interested in cleaned and getting her side work done- guessing we were one of her last tables for the day.

The food was delicious! Every menu item looked great so it was hard to decide, which is a good thing. I had great service and the L Essential breakfast was really good! Eggs were salty for my take so maybe ask them to be unseasoned, otherwise delicious!

We had high hopes for Brasserie 23 as many reviews were quite positive. However, that was not our experience. The restaurant was not busy, so the errors in our service were surprising. Our waiter came and took our drink and appetizer order. Our drinks came quickly, but the appetizer took forever. We ordered puff pastry pinwheel bites. The waiter said that someone else took our order and that they were being remade. A few moments later they arrived to our table cold. We then placed our dinner order of coque au vin, salmon, and portobello mushrooms and frites. Around the time our meal should be coming out the waiter came by to say that someone had taken the salmon plate to another table, so we would need to wait for it to be remade. We asked our meals be brought out together, but he brought the two dishes that were ready anyways. We waited close to 10 minutes for the other dish to be brought out. To top it off, the food was mediocre at best. The salmon was hardly seasoned and the vegetables were poorly cooked. The portobello mushroom frites were just plain salty, almost inedible. Needless to say it was a disappointing experience…

Food was good but there was nothing special about it. The table was small. The server was friendly and he tried but could use some training. He said he was kitchen staff and he did know the food menu well but didn’t recommend wines or know the drink menu well. The restaurant lacks the little things you’d expect at a french restaurant like bringing out a baguette. The plating of the food was sloppy. Tables are tiny and feel a bit awkward. The prices were what you’d expect with upscale dining but the food and experience was something you’d get at a chain restaurant for a fraction of the cost. We were disappointed.

A very enjoyable evening. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly if a bit a slow for it being not a busy night. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed the bourguignon and salmon, but it felt a bit overpriced for what we received. We will very likely return. Would recommend!

The food we ordered was quite flavorful but had a few flaws. The profiteroles were a little stale (which was quite disappointing at the end of the meal). Also, one of the clams in the fish stew was not cleaned properly. It had some sand in it. The charcuterie board could have been more imaginative. It would have been nice to have been informed, right at the beginning, that some of the menu items were not available. I don't mind paying big city prices if the food is exceptional. It was not here.
