We had a fabulous meal trout, Mexican corn Olote, wild mushroom app, salad wit jicama. We sat outside on the covered patio which was delightful!

This place was fantastic and soon glad I discovered it. Ate in the bar because it was too cold for me (visiting from Phoenix) in April. Would love to sit in front room as well as patio. All very inviting. Sat in bar and LOVED bartender. Forget her name. Worked Saturday April 17th. Great conversation, very much felt like family. MANHATTANs were fantastic.
Only split a few appetizers but the crab cakes were superb. Also had the Mac and cheese as well as Ceasar salad.
Atmosphere - clean, inviting, hip, relaxing but vibrant Colorado mountain casual. Loved loved!!

We had a party of six and we really enjoyed the appetizers and salads. It is a great place to come for drinks and appetizers. We ordered 3 steaks but did not think they were the best quality and would recommend ordering something else off of the menu.
Wow! We were IMPRESSED with Brass Anvil. Within moments of being seated our party of 5 had water and the server came by and gave us our options for our two year old. As soon as we ordered for our kiddo the order was put in and 10 minutes later she had her food and drink while we decided our dinners. That was such a big help to manage a toddler. After that the service was attentive, efficient and beyond kind and friendly. The food was OUTSTANDING. Everything about our experience justifies a perfect review. It was a truly incredible way to spend our anniversary/birthday dinner. Do yourself and your family a favor and plan a night in Carbondale at Brass Anvil!

I called and they said I had to be there at 5:00 to get a seat in the bar, very short on the phone. We arrived at 5:45 nobody in the bar the whole time we were there. Dining room empty. I ordered the Trout. The oil it was cooked in was rancid or very poor quality.
the restaurant was crowded and there were people walking around without masks. we weren't seated socially distanced from one another. the hostess seemed bothered by the fact that we had shown up. the waitresses were nice and the decor was very stylish, but it was so loud that you could barely hear yourself speak.
I ordered the trout, it was dry, underseasoned, and in desperate need of a sauce. we shared the smashed purple potatoes which came so burnt that most of them crumbled to ash in your mouth and just tasted like carbon. luckily they came with a delicious mustard sauce which I was able to spread on my fish to make it more palatable.
dessert was the saving grace. we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and a scoop of their decadent cinnamon brown sugar ice cream. it was phenomenal and nearly made us forget our less than satisfying dinner.
Extremely oily truffle French fries with no truffle at all.
Most of the food was very good, but the ribeye was very small and not worth the price.

Great food and Great service. I love the fact most everything is farm raised and grown locally. The Service from the Hostess was impeccable. I was very impressed with all her recommendations and advice on what to get. I guess it took away the responsibility of our Waitress but still had very great service all the way.
I know Covid lockdowns have killed restaurants and we were looking forward to dining at Brass Anvil for our anniversary last night. One to get out and Second to support small businesses like Brass Anvil. The main issue was the food quality combined with presentation. The wedge salads we both had looked to have been made much earlier and refrigerated until serviced. The bacon was soggy and the lettuce wilted. The worst was our steaks serviced in cold cast iron pans. Cold enough that they were taking heat out of the steaks. The steaks tasted good, but the cold cast iron presentation was bad.
I hope they get their act together once things settled down a bit. I also hope the manager and / or owners take this review in the spirit is was written. Hoping they make some changes to improve.

The food was average. Food was served in a cold cast iron therefore the food was colder on arrival to the table. The server was average and forgot to bring items requested by the party.

The tenderloin is amazing. We had it twice during our visit to Carbondale. Server Amanda is very friendly. Also loved the maple cake. Beautiful place, fun music. Really added to our trip.
We have eaten here several times both for lunch and dinner and have enjoyed everything. The service is warm and wonderful! Will definitely be back for more
I really liked this place. The vibe is low-key and friendly. Felt very comfortable and was really looking forward to a nice dinner here. The service was very attentive without being overbearing and she was super friendly and knew her stuff.
We ordered a couple of craft cocktails that were really good and the calamari appetizer was great.
We ordered a filet and a ribeye both medium rare with the broccolini and the smashed potatoes. The sides were delicious. The flavor of the grass-fed Nieslanik Beef was excellent. Here’s my beef with the beef: the filet was fatty. Not just a little but there was a good piece of fat and gristle that accounted for about 1/4 of the cut. To my knowledge, the Filet is the leanest cut and should have been trimmed better. The Ribeye had quite a bit of fat, but I expect that. Both were served medium, but ordered medium rare. This is my only gripe, and I write this to hopefully convey to the management to prepare the beef with a little more care. I guess I should have said something to my server, but I didn’t want to get in to it and I was not looking to have a meal comped or something. We did really enjoy the experience and would eat there again.
This is exactly what Carbondale needed! Super cool bar/patio and dining room option. Excellent food, friendly staff - great environment. We will be frequenting this establishment!
Not a good experience for the money.
- Music was loud and didn't go with the dining atmosphere, felt like i was in a bar.
- Food presentation unappealing
- Price point for food quality did not match.... dropping $100 for 1/2 a chicken in a pan and old salad...not coming back
Delicious bison steak and potatoes. Also the wedge salad was superb!
There version of a Moscow Mule was superb. Beef tenderloin was amazing. We requested medium, but it came o the table very rare. It went back to the kitchen and came back perfect.
My dinner guests meals were very good. My sirloin steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked but I couldn't chew it because of the white threading running through it. So for the large expense, I was disappointed. Everything else was delicious.

What a great new restaurant on restaurant row in Carbondale! Beautiful design and great food,. For my birthday lunch had the burger, outstanding and the fried calimari and shrimp, excellent remoulade sauce. The mini wedge was so so. Back to dinner a few days later, shishito peppers. Calimari again excellent steak. It’s a winner and a new regular
We brought our guests from NY to dinner at Brass Anvil on Thursday evening. We were a larger party and every single person was thrilled with their food of choice. Favorites were peppers, crab cakes, chicken, trout, ribeye, wedge.
The staff were fun and super on task. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, overall just a fabulous evening. Thank you Brass Anvil!
We loved the patio and the food. Service was great. My husband had the pork chop and I had the goat cheese and pear salad. We also ordered a side of mushrooms. All very tasty and we recommend you check them out!
