The restaurant is OK, but nothing to brag about. The food was moderate at best, with empanadas terrible and seemingly something out of a freezer bag from one of the processors of these sort of things. We did like their onion soup. Overall, I'm glad that we tried it, however, only to scratch it off the list of options.
Tried Brasabana for the first time for an early dinner with a friend. The service was excellent. Cocktails were quite good. Appetizers and entree’s were outstanding and so visually appealing. You will not be hungry when you leave this place! Will definitely be back!
We love cuban food and since we do not have any restaurants in Athens, GA serving any, we decided to search out somewhere while we were in Lexington, KY. This was a great find!!! They take reservations which is always a plus to me!! The menu had lots of choices and it was difficult to decide not to have a cuban!! But I love empanadas too and the sweet corn tamales sound divine. There are several toppings for the tamale and we ordered the mojo pork. Both dishes were really good. Presentation of both platings was top notch!! My favorite part was the mojo pork. Real flavor packed and perfectly cooked.
We also enjoyed bloody marys!
Service was excellent.
This was our second visit in two days!! We had observed their special...pumpkin creme brulee french toast and decided that we had to come back to try it!! It was really a nice dish and the presentation was lovely. We also enjoyed their mimosas. Will definitely come back when we are in town.
The service was also outstanding!!! Love their decor!
Very large portions of delicious food. I ordered a more traditional Cuban dish and it was wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. A great experience.
Great Cuban food in Lexington. Loved the Empanadas and Papas Rellenas. If in the mood for Cuban food, Brasabana is the place to go!
Everything tasted great and the servers were very kind. The cocktails that we had were delicious and moderately priced for Lexington.
This is the second time I have been at this restaurant. The first time I was with a large party of about 12. We sat in the front room at a long table had fabulous service and fabulous food. This time we sat in the back room which was full of children. Our waiter was new so he was doing his best and was attentive. The food was mediocre this time. My first visit was 2 years ago. Most likely I will choose another restaurant when I come to Lexington next time. My food was not bad but one person in our party had cold rice and another had the short rib dinner which had more fat than meat.
We love Brasabana -- one of our regular restaurants for weekend dinner. Their saffron paella is my favorite dish though last night's paella was a bit bland. Latin Dip Trip is a must have appetizer. Everyone is friendly and casual.
excellent, friendly service - very good food with great flavor, music was a little loud, but staff was very accommodating and moved us to quieter section
Our waiter, Josh was very good. He was efficient, friendly, and efficient. We will return.
The fish sandwiches are on the perfect bread and are big enough to share. The picante margaritas are awesome!
We were a party of 6. Our server was knowledgeable and very friendly. The food came out promptly. Everything was delicious. We will visit again.
Very nice evening with excellent entertainment, perfect noise level to engage in conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing Steve Childers on guitar!
I love how everyone thinks they are food critics on these apps. Lol. What you need to know, the food is good it’s not too expensive, it’s good for casual date night or families, that’s all.
food was great, service was wonderful, we will be back.
Outstanding fare but short on atmosphere. The quality of the food kepps us coming back again and again.
Service was excellent. The server was very friendly and helpful. Food was hot, fresh and tasty.
First time here, glad I found this little gem!! Friendly staff, great food!!
My wife and I eat at Brasabana fairly often. The food is always great and the service good, too. This time her salmon was not well cooked, but the waiter quickly replaced it and offered a complimentary dessert as well. Can't beat that!
One of my favorite restaurants. Love the paella! Robert always provides great service.
It is a nice place for casual dining out. I had placed the reservation online and specify it was a birthday celebration, but our waiter did not know this information. If you are asking your customer why they are there...then it should be part of your service. I also thought there was live music all the time...but we were there for dinner on Sunday and no live music. There was music playing which was nice, but I really wanted live music. I was disappointed in dessert selection...only 3 and one that was listed was not available. The portions were sort of small...but was delicious. I thought the cold chips were also disappointing...they seemed to have sat for awhile after cooking. The dips trio was not worth the expense.
This is my favorite restaurant! All menu options are delicious! Some are a bit pricey considering the dish served a lot of rice with shrimp. However, I would order it again.
The empanadas were delicious. My entree was okay.
The food was delicious and the service was great. However, the first three drinks we ordered were unavailable. It was disconcerting to have the waitress return twice to inform they didn’t have the ingredients required for the drinks. I kept bracing myself for undesirable returns after we placed our appetizer and entree orders.
We came for restaurant week but the flavors fell a bit short of expectations.
We both love Cuban cuisine and this is the best we have found in Lexington. This time we were there to sample the Restaurant week plates. Delicious! Live music began before we finished our dinner. It was very nice background music.
Have been wanting to check out this restaurant for some time. Everything was excellent and we will be back soon.
Food and service were great. Food is always good and never disappoints!
Food was good, though not totally authentic - it's more Cuban-inspired than full-on Cuban. The service was better than the last time I went there, but still not super. The place has the potential to be an excellent place to dine out, but there is not enough close supervision/training of the staff. The worst thing was that my "Kettle One on the rocks, a little dirty" tasted watered down. Hope that wasn't the case.
If you haven't tried it, you should. Really good food.
Fantastic meal from apps to dessert, every mouthful was absolutely delicious. The fried caramel apple empanadas were unbelievably good, hot and flaky - I could have licked the plate. The ham-chicken croquettes were flavorful and the main course (shredded pork) ample and scrumptious.
A Restaurant Week winner. Will definitely return.
I don't know of any other place in Lexington where I can find more complex and delicious flavors, such colorful and appetizing food. Our waiter was a dream. We love Brasabana and will return frequently.
A drink from their menu was unavailable due to a liquor not being available. The red sangria ordered was devoid of any fruit flavors tasting more like a bad red wine on ice.
My brisket tacos were flavorful, more like pulled beef than brisket. My spouse’s gumbo was delicious, tangy, well spiced.
Good experience for Restaurant week; we initially had an issue, but the GM fixed it, thank you
Absolutely love this place!
Went for Sunday brunch and the food was wonderful. Service is always great! Would still enjoy seeing more brunch options as I love going here often.
Very nice, not cheap but you got the value you invested in the meal. Some places you pay a lot of money for a $40 meal....here you received your money's worth. We intend to go again.
Great food!! I am from South Florida so I know a little something about authentic Cuban food. This is the best that I have had outside of FL. Ranks up there with Bongos!!
The food is always on point here. The menu is always being tweaked with new things and they keep the favorites on the menu. Any chicken or pork dish you get here will be excellent. The service here is always odd. Has been for years. Waiters are always nice but they tend to take their time and rarely check for refills or if you want/need another cocktail/drink. We go here often as the food is delicious. Specials are always good and they have really good special event menus (new years, Christmas Eve, etc.) But the service is not going to blow you away.
Empanadas and calamari were great. The puerca Brasabana was pretty dry and not especially tasty. The brisket was ok. The service was slow.
