We're opening gates to humble and honest food of Eastern Europe!
Hope to see you soon!
It's very hard for me to adequately review this restaurant because this cuisine in general is not my jam, (eastern European)but we thought we would try it for something different.
I ordered the beet/goatcheese salad which was fine but not crave-worthy. We ordered the potato filled pierogies which were also fine, just not a lot of flavor, with sour cream added it was much better. I ordered potatoes and mushrooms which were cooked well but very very bland in flavor, I added a great deal of salt. My wife ordered a sausage cabbage roll *different name in restaurant)which was cooked very well, and had the most flavor. Overall, the food was quite bland, but again, this might be par for this type of food. There were other dishes that might have been fun to try, borsch soup, split pea soup, beef stroganogh etc. If you like this type of food, you should definitely try this place. I would be curious to know if it's just my tastebuds.
Authentic, great testing food. Fantastic service, very good ambiance. Bit inconsistency in portion sizes; some big but others not sufficient.
This is our second time to have dinner here. Food is GREAT as always, you won't disappoint with what you order - everything is delicious!! If you want to try something different, this place is the one you shouldn't miss out!
very good food, exciting menu selections, and friendly, helpful service. a very pleasant, stimulating dining experience.
An intimate and cozy atmosphere with soothing music background. Food is authentic (our ethnic background), delicious, and artistically presented. Waitress was very friendly and helpful in interpreting the menu. Brama is a must if you want to try or crave eastern European cuisine.
I reserved a table online earlier , however upon our arrival , we were given a limited selection, although the restaurant was nearly empty ( the signed " reserved" was placed on 2 tables only , obviously our sits ere not among those ). Questions is, what kind of reservation was that ? Do you have two types of reservations? Reservation and super-reservation?
Food was in the smallest amount for that money .
No extra entrees like in other restaurants with reputation ( butter, bread, olive oil, chips , vodka) really nothing on the house , specific to the culture .
The food was too salty. Nothing really special, no one made us feel special.
It was a big disappointment , I won't be coming back and I doubt that this restaurant will stay too long in business giving the competition ( The Russian House and others similar)
Wonderful spot for a date night! Great food, excellent service, and super cozy and intimate.
The food is excellent and reasonably priced. The go-to place for eastern European food.
Food, service, and ambience were terrific!
Excellent moderately priced, European food served in a very pleasant atmosphere, with excellent service and hospitality. Located between Lowes and the Honda dealership, just off MoPac and Steck.
What a great find! Authentic Eastern European cuisine. If you’ve traveled this area of the world and enjoyed the food, you will love Brama. It’s tucked away in a strip center, but the inside is cozy, simple and classy. We had the herring and potatoes, veggie borscht, and chicken schnitzel. The food is excellent and well presented. Can’t wait to try some other menu items.
Very good but pricey.
My wife's daughter heard about Brama and thought we might enjoy it. She could not have made a better recommendation. Everything was as perfect as it could be -- the variety and quality of the food, the service, the setting. The restaurant is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the dishes are very tasty and prepared mostly from scratch. We loved the variety of foods presented. We'll most definitely return.
Delicious food in a cozy environment, Brama has it all! The pricing reflects the quantity of food served perfectly in my opinion, and the quality was beyond its price. I highly recommend Brama for those craving Eastern European food
Great food. It's nice to go to a restaurant with an uncommon menu of Eastern European food excellently prepared and delicious.
Second time I have been there. The food is consistently great!
It was an easy evening and food was good
It is fun to try new experiences and new foods
I have been to Brama several times. This visit I asked three friends to join me, two had never been to the restaurant. Two of us decided to have the Beef Stroganoff with added mushroom sauce. It was served with mashed potatoes. Both of us really enjoyed the tender meat and creamy sauce. The other two had the Chicken Schnitzel with red cabbage and spaetzle. They were not disappointed.
We went for lunch as I understand it can get busy over the weekend. We enjoyed the slower pace and it was quiet enough that we could talk comfortably.
Excellent food and service in a peaceful environment. Good menu selection.
It was my first time at the Brama Restaurant. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and it is cozy. The waitress was very nice but she never refilled our water glass. I ordered a German schnitzel. It did not test like the German schnitzel. It tested more like chicken fried steak. My friend ordered a soup(okroshka). It was pretty bad. My friend returned it. The waitress included the soup in the bill. I guess, we are spoiled by other restaurants about this part. )))) I really like holodec and bread. The menu was very limited. I wish you the best, Brama!
Very good dining!
The beef stroganov was very good.
The stuffed cabbage was excellent!
The German Chicken Schnitzel was amazingly tender and delicious! The red cabbage that came with was cooked perfectly, and just sweet enough!
The venue was appropriately non-pretentious and comfortably traditional with a European ambience.
The deserts that we tried were top notch.
So many interesting items on the menu we did not get to try, so we will be coming back!
Lovely and caring people run this restaurant- and it shows. I had a wonderful time, delicious food, and left feeling satisfied without any semblance of over-eating (despite having three courses). Will go again. Thank you and take care!
We enjoyed the experience which allowed us to try items we would not normally see. The waitress was helpful and very amiable. The portion size for some of the items was, in my opinion, small. The setting itself was, under the circumstances, rather austere. It could be "softed". Despite these issues, I do anticipate returning.
Great little place close to home. We went for a late lunch and look forward to going back for dinner. Very Yummy!
The food was authentic and very delicious. We are going back for more since they have a lot of dishes we still want to try!
I loved the experience. It was like traveling to Eastern Europe. I'll be back soon.
We loved it! We will definitely be back with friends and family!
Brama was an unexpected jewel. Advertising eastern European food, we decided to give it a try- not many such places that we are aware of. The appetizers of salmon crepes and vegetable borscht were really good. Entrees of Hungarian Goulash and Weinerschnitzel were tasty, with the Goulash being perfect and the veal dish a little chewy. The honey cake was just great, not too sweet but a wonderful taste. Will definitely return. Service and presentation were very nice and the atmosphere was quiet and refined. Soft piano music piped in. Deserves Sunday casual dress.
Excellent food, and service was wonderful! Be sure to try the mushroom soup!
My son said, & I agree, the food was very good, but we won't be regulars, for the simple reason that it is not food we really want when we dine out except very occasionally. The deserts were great, though! The waiter was very helpful & friendly, he earned his 20% tip. The only thing not enjoyable was the family who let their child be loud & busy. But there is little control over that.
We have tried several German Restaurants in the Austin area and thought we would give an Eastern European restaurant a try. It was the best yet. Their Beef Stroganoff was so tender and full of flavor, Veal Schnitzel for the most part was very tender, however, there were some grisly bites, I tried Grilled Veal Tongue and it was super tender although as it cooled down the flavor did also. Their spaetzle was real good. Dimitri was a great server. Will return again
Fabulous eastern European food I haven't found any where else in Austin. Waiter was so nice and quiet atmosphere. We are going back!
