We had a lovely meal thank you ..We were slightly concerned as we were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday lunch time ..But no need to have been . The service was wonderful as we had the waiter to ourselves so can't really say what it would have been like if it was busy. Shiraz our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and made us wonderful cocktails , the best we've had. Really great service Shiraz so thank you ..Made our theatre trip to caberet extra special. So close to the theatre too .

We hadn't realised that Boyds was in a hotel, so it wasn't quite what we expected on arrival - there was a conference going on in the hotel, and the staff carefully managed the larger group so that it didn't affect our experience. We were also eating at a funny time because we were going to the theatre, but none of this mattered. The Maitre D was full of personality, and was attentive. We had the BBQ platter which was excellent. The surroundings were well kept and the right mix of modern and classic. The sound levels weren't boomy - enough of an atmosphere, but we were able to talk naturally. All in all, a good experience!

Boyds is set in a lovely venue. A beautiful old building, with many original features which added to the ambience. We, along with another couple, were the only people in there. Unfortunately there was very little choice on the menu, especially if you weren't a steak lover or had a food allergy. The waiter was very helpful. But the over all experience was very disappointing.

I chose the restaurant as it was close to the theatre we were going to. It’s inside the Northumberland hotel. It was early (5.30/6pm) and very empty so not much atmosphere. Food was ok. Service was very nice.

Never visited Boyd's before, will visit again in the future. Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon considering it is minutes from Trafalgar Square. Lovely Art Deco dining area with pretty bar in middle of room. Lovely staff - all very attentive and friendly and not pushy (unlike other restaurants). Everything was cooked well and nicely presented. Good value for money and they only charge 5% service charge compared to 12-14% in other London restaurants.

Where to start. The first bottle of wine was served in a dirty glass to taste. There was something floating in it and we were told it was the glass, not the wine. Initially the bottle was not going to be replaced but we complained and eventually it was. We were paying for a full bottle of wine and expected to be served one. The food was lukewarm at best. Some dishes were served on skillets which were cold so this did not help. Skillets are meant to be hot! The first main was returned and replaced but the second not much better. The hottest dishes delivered to our table were the deserts! Service was hit and miss. The wine cooler was placed away from the table and we frequently had empty glasses. In the end we moved the wine cooler to be next to our table so we could serve ourselves. If the wine is going to be placed away from the table then the staff need to check regularly for top ups. It wasn’t even busy. Some staff were nice others seemed to have attitude. We would not return based on the experience we had.

All around very poor - food was only Ok, zero ambience - only one other party in a large room with 40ft ceilings, service was all over the shop and seemed to be bar-service. I probably wouldn’t return.

Left wondering why we paid £5 for breads as starter when four slices of supermarket bread arrived with packs of butter. Then the main was solid but not worth the £21 for a pie. Nothing great to say really
