The Temperance Street location, in the heart of Toronto's Financial District, was a long time in the making.

Tucked away in a quiet alley, this location is built to be an oasis of calm among the chaos of Bay street. Boxcar Temperance has everything you expect from a Boxcar, and more.

With over one-hundred unique whiskey expressions, our largest and most ambitious rotating wine list, fifteen local craft beers on tap, and our familiarly particular focus on our coffee program, the Temperance street location aims to rethink what the finance district can be.

The place was empty but servers were not coming around to check on us. We kept looking around but we couldnt flag down anyone. We were there for two hours but only got served one drink.

Great spot for lunch. Limited menu, but food was good. Some food arrived late due to technical issue, but server appologized. Also provided with a sample tasting of one of the beers we considered. Will return.

Amazing! I would absolutely plan another event at Boxcar social. I love the ease of booking online as well. I wish I could book an even a larger group of 20 plus people online though

No. The meal offerings are slim and though the quality of the ingredients was good the overall result is average. Good place for coffee or a drink if you happen to be in the area. Quiet and staff don't rush you. Open kitchen means there is a relatively strong odour of grease from the fryer. (Fried chicken sandwich is on the menu. ) Dark interior, ok in the winter not appealing otherwise.
