The potstickers, short rib and noodles and cocktails were outstanding. Definitelty revisting. The wok & grill items on the menu are very generous and filling for two.

I used to love botika, it’s where I took my girlfriend on our first real date, and we had an amazing time. I recall the delicious steamed buns, these wonderful empanada type things and all around wonderful food and service, not to mention amazing drinks. But this last time you can tell they had to cut back due to corona and I’m more than willing to be understanding ,but this was just a sad reflection of what the restaurant once was. Cooks were doubling as servers and hosts (having worked in the food industry as front of house and back of house, I know these are two very different skill sets) but most unforgivably was the “new menu”. I even bothered to ask if the menu was limited due to corona, but that’s not the case it’s just the new menu. they got rid of all the delicious aforementioned food. They have 3 appetizers and nothing on the entree menu sounds particularly amazing especially not for the price. It has nothing to do with the restaurant and everything to do with the Pearl. Restauranteurs have to have their menu approved by the pearl management before they can make changes or adjustments and despite the culinary institute being right there, all they allow for is overpriced mediocrity. Absolutely disappointed!

$$$, nice area good food but limited menu. Not sure if COVID-19 limited menu or not but I didn't find any fusion items on said menu. Again, everything was above 80% & I have a wide range of food likes but....
Others in my party are very picky & have a limited range of food preferences. If your pallet is limited you might not be satisfied. If you like trying different things or enjoy sushi/ rice bowls you will be satisfied.

Food is subpar, everything is overly sweet. Nothing stand out. The pricing is atrocious for the food quality. Ceviche which is a Peruvian staple and they couldn't even get that right. Service is also subpar. Spend your money elsewhere

These are difficult times for so many, not the least those in the travel and entertainment industry. In short, the staff was friendly enough and the ambiance appealing in light of the many restrictions. The food was simply average at best. Trying way too hard without the skill to execute on what the menu promises. Importantly, the menu was limited during our recent visit and while we expected to enjoy those items that were offered, we did not. We started with the Tostoncitos at $9, and they were dry and uninspiring. The Summer Roll at $19 was drowning in the yuzu ponzu sauce and overly spicy as well. We couldn't taste the fish or any of the other ingredients..in short, a soggy mess. When I shared my thoughts with the server, he rightfully took them away, and off of our bill. The Steamed Buns at $14 were good. Topped with a chicharron that was a bit soft (not the freshest tasting nor rightfully crispy) these had a spicy seasoning that also killed most of the other flavors in our opinion. Fortunately the Hoisin sauce cut some of the spice thus we could enjoy this item. The POKE at $19 was good however again nothing memorable. The Leche de Tigre (tigers milk - citrus marinade) again overpowers the other flavors in this dish. The 6 pieces of Sashimi (We had Sake and HamachI) were the best part of the meal...at $3 a piece, the $18 price tag takes away from some of the enjoyment however. Happy to pay a premium for top quality fish..this was not that though. In short, we had high, however realistic expectations due to all that is going on these days. In light of the mostly positive reviews, we likely came on an off day....but won't be back.

We were hoping that this would be an interesting meal with the fusion of Asian and Peruvian food, we got greasy, heavy, and overpriced. They took the concept of a pork bun and turned into an overly heavy unbalanced taco creation using the typical bun as a shell. For the meal we had the Short Ribs which were greasy and an overpowering combination of seasoning.

This was our first dinner out since lockdown . We chose Botika for the first outing because we knew that Chef Geronimo and GM Claudio would do it right . Our expectations were surpassed . The food , the service and the drink were all spectacular, as always . The new protocols on place due to COVID 19 made us feel 100% safe . We have glanced into a few other restaurants , and Botika is far surpassing them all in protocol adherence . Thank you ! It was an awesome evening !

This is my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Bold flavors, unique combinations, delightful reimagined old favorites, and a great ambiance. Great for a date night, when you need to take out a group, and a fun choice to take out of town visitors that’s not on the river walk.

Botika is one of our favorite spots to dine, the food is incredible! It's just not the best place for a date. They seem to consistently seat us very closely to other couples and it's hard to carry a conversation. Otherwise, it's a great spot!

The food was outstanding. Tyler was our server and he is excellent. It is like a tapas style restaurant. Order one or two dishes at a time. The sushi takes longer than some other choices so plan accordingly.

We ordered the daily sushi dish and was brought grilled fish and a bowl of rice with papaya salad. When we questioned our waitress she said it was the sushi special. We kept insisting it did not look like sushi and had none of the components of sushi. Finally she agreed to get the manager. He was very professional and did agree we received the incorrect dish and took it off our bill. I must say this is the third time I have been to this restaurant and I live in North Carolina! The food is amazing and love how the chef blends Peruvian and Asian flavors. Totally amazing experience, just wish the staff was more experienced or better trained. Our previous experience also included a less than stellar staff. You have an amazing restaurant, which price wise is in the upper category, therefore would expect better experienced staff. My only complaint.

I had reserved a high top table in advance for three people. When we arrived, we were greeted by a less-than-enthusiastic host who seated us at a regular table. I inquired about it, and he verified that my reservation did state high top, but that they had "placed" me at the lower one. This was not a huge issue, because the high-tops are actually right in the path of the front doors and our table was a bit more private. Our waitress was extremely nice and friendly and knew the menu well. My companion enjoyed his bento box, with the pork belly that was on special, but said the poke was not true poke...merely sashimi grade chunks of fish in sesame oil. My other companion ordered a sushi roll that was quite small and did not warrant a $15 price tag. My cebiche (scallop and fried calamari) was a large portion of fresh fish that was very tasty. However, the addition of pineapple chunks to the broth below and the oversized smear of mango puree on the side did not go with the fish. Overall, the food was very fresh and the Venezuelan-fusion was a unique interpretation, but I think the chef needs to more carefully edit flavors, increase the size of the sushi rolls, and make a true poke.
