Vegetables are the star of the show at Botanica, an innovative new restaurant from editors-turned-chefs Emily Fiffer and Heather Sperling. The market-driven menu features beautiful produce from local farms, wild Pacific seafood, responsibly sourced meat, and spices from across the globe. Dishes are exciting but unfussy, composed with healthfulness in mind. Abundant Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Central and Southeast Asian influences inform the food, but Botanica is a wholly modern American restaurant.
Rounding out the menu is a beverage program of natural wines, craft beer, produce-centric cocktails, fresh juices and spritzers, and Manufactory coffee and Leaves & Flowers teas. In addition to the restaurant, the space houses a market, stocked with the products and local produce used in the kitchen, the wine and beer from the restaurant list, prepared foods and house-made snacks.

Botanica Ratings and Reviews
This was my third time at Botanica. One time was a Sunday brunch. All three times, my experience with food and friendly service was excellent. I have recommended Botanica to friends who live in the area and it is now their favorite restaurant. I drove from mid-city Los Angeles and it's definitely worth the drive.
My favorite restaurant in Silverlake right now. Ultra fresh and vibrant cuisine. Light yet delicious. Packed full of herbs and flavors without a heavy density or weighing you down. Really nice staff and great natural and orange wines. Hip but not pretentious.
Black cod tartine at brunch was delicious - silky smoked fish with zesty muhammara on top of crunchy toast accompanied by a lightly dressed salad of mixed lettuces. Menu here is creative combining middle eastern flavors. Lots of interesting choices. I look forward to going back and trying something else.
"Hipster light roast coffee" is so Third Wave. Good brew strength but a little too lemony for my palate!
Interesting menu, well executed. One of us had the spiced braised chicken which was delicious. An interesting melange of textures and flavors. I had the lamb kebab, which was tasty, but not really anything special. The chocolate olive oil tart was amazing. The waiter was attentive and helpful in making suggestions.
It was a terrific experience from start to finish. The environment, the noise level, the delicious food and terrific service. Someone was able to help us with wine recs at our table and we were able to leave with purchases for our holiday party without leaving our seats. We loved it and will be back with friends and family!
Just eh. Fine but not extra tasty or unique. Atmosphere is charming but the dishes felt like expensive versions of stuff we would make in college. The restaurants in that strip are so specific and wonderful; this feels not quite there.
Arrived and sat outside with my dog. I had to send my friend inside to order. They said someone will bring it out to us. The coffee came out and they told us they have a condiments station inside. The food arrived shortly after but it was packed to go. At that point I just took it and left!
We heard this was a place where the veggies are front and center and we weren't disappointed. We are neither vegetarian nor vegan, but nevertheless appreciate the great and creative use of veggies here. The food was dynamite. Service was not stellar, but still decent and no real complaints. We sat on the patio which was very nice and is recommended.
What a wonderful restaurant. I only wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could go all the time. Still, worth driving across town for. Every dish was delicious, fresh and decadent while also feeling healthy. The vibe was stylish, relaxed and warm. It reminded me of my favorite places in the Bay Area in a really good way. Planning on returning often.
I had high hopes for my dinner. The menu looked healthy and I love veggie driven restaurants. But the food all had too strong vinegar/garlic flavors and we ordered 3 very different dishes. We ate less than half of each dish. Maybe brunch is better, but at the price point you can do better elsewhere.
I've been to Botanica multiple times... for girls night, lunch gatherings, everyday meals with hubby... It's always a good experience. Food feels clean and well thought out, presentation is gorgeous and most importantly, they accommodate my vegan needs. (Definitely would appreciate more vegan options.) I wish parking was a little easier but I won't hold that against my dining experience.
