About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Fancy
  • Great for creative cocktails
The American steakhouse is an iconic restaurant institution. We’d wanted to tell that story for years, but waited until we had the skill, talent and ability to execute it properly, and the right space to be our canvas, an important corner in Little Italy, a neighborhood where we have deep roots. We brought an almost academic appreciation for steakhouse history and tradition to Born & Raised, while trying to stay relevant and authentic to ourselves and our city. Our dry-aged beef pays tribute to earlier, earthier, pre-government grading practices and is the centerpiece of a meal best savored at a slow pace. A timeless celebration of everything that makes restaurants so special. - Consortium Holdings. A 4% surcharge is added to all guest checks.

From the OpenTable editors: The scene is just as sizzling as the steaks at this Little Italy stunner. Born & Raised turns the old-school steakhouse genre on its head, displaying photos of rap legends in the all-gold, super-glam dining room. There are steakhouse faithfuls, plus carts that prep vintage cocktails tableside. The result is an OTT steakhouse fit for the highest of high rollers.

The food is amazing and so is the service. My only complaint is that we always have to wait 15+ minutes to be seated even when having a reservation.

I was surprised at the minimal food options. Food was delicious, but, very pricey. Quality and portion did not match the price. Our server was good. I asked for a wine with my dinner, so when she brought my wine I assumed our dinner was right behind. 20 minutes later we got our dinner.

Not overly friendly or welcoming. Hostess did not want to sit our group as one person was running late. Sent us to bar where the bartender did not seem thrilled to be making us cocktails. Server was decent, the whole giant fake cake is a little misleading- they bring out these giant plastic cakes on a cart to sell dessert, and then the actual dessert shows up and is 1/3 the size. A little overrated I’d say.

Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by poor service. We had a reservation, but waited about 15 minutes to be seated. After ordering drinks and appetizers, only the drinks and half of the appetizers arrived, and it took about 40 minutes for the rest to come. When the french onion soup finally arrived, it was served cold (although the server mentioned it’s supposed to be served hot). We had to send it back to get reheated. We were told the delay on the rest of our appetizers and main courses was because the server thought we were waiting on the soups before main courses (but didn’t confirm or ask us) and so by then it took over an hour for our main courses. The birthday girl’s meal was cooked under medium, despite specifying three times to cook it well done. After sending it back, it took another 15 minutes to come back. We waited approx another 10-15 minutes for our carrot cake to-go, and 10 minutes just to pay the check. Overall, the food was fine, but the service was extremely disappointing. I had been looking forward to an enjoyable birthday dinner with my friends. Instead, I ended up having a 3 hour plus dinner with poor service.

Our son generously gifted us a gift card for Christmas and we finally got around to using it. We don’t normally eat out at such expensive restaurants. Basically, we’re cheap. Lol anyhow, the ambience is absolutely exquisite. Such a beautiful restaurant. The service was impeccable and I liked how everybody worked together to make sure we had everything we needed. I was hoping for a booth since we had made reservations months ahead of time, but they sat us at a pretty crummy little table initially. , I asked for a better table . They graciously give us a better table, but still not a booth. It was fine. A glass of wine is about $18 which perhaps is standard. I ordered the fillet and it was absolutely cooked.to perfection and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the ribeye and it was equally as delicious. Our sides were broccoli and macaroni and cheese. I highly recommend both. I would love to have the recipe for the mac & cheese! We didn’t quite make it to dessert, but they brought us something for our anniversary. It was some kind of meringue thing with strawberry filling. Personally, I did not like it at all and we did not eat it. We also had to pay for valet parking so that was an added expense along with the service fee of 4%. I’m glad we had the experience of eating there because the food was so good, but we would never spend that amount of money for a night out even for a special occasion Our bill came to $238. We also got the shrimp cocktail. Be warned, although delicious, it is not presented in the standard shrimp cocktail way. It was cut up and served with a cocktail sauce on top of it as well as some cucumbers and other crunchy vegetables. My husband would’ve preferred the standard shrimp cocktail, but I thought it was good. A lovely experience! Great service!!

My husband and I had a fabulous time, booking our reservation was easy & also accommodating when we had to push back our reservation. The service, ambience & food was excellent. The only thing I didn’t love was our sitting situation, we were sat in a booth directly facing another couple, that felt just a bit awkward but overall everything was exquisite

Ribeye steaks are super fatty now (both wet/dry). Most of the time you're just dodging inedible parts to get to the meat. Unfortunate because B&R had a lot better quality in the past (been here many times). Server was great, although getting seated took 25 minutes passed the reservation time.
