Lunch was very good. Mom said it was the best creme brûlée she has ever had in New Orleans, which is something since she has lived here for over 70 years!
The appetizers stood out more than the entrees. Great wine selection. As a gin drinker, I wasn't blown away by the cocktail list and went straight to wine.
I love outdoor eating and Bordeaux has lots to offer, even during the warmer months!
soft shell crab , one but enough, was great. the hot molten chocolate dessert, was good enough I told some people I might sell them to slave traders for more. true, I told them I'd hold out for top dollar, but I may have exaggerated my inclination to haggle.
Great! Would go back agajn
The food was very good, but outside it was much too warm to enjoy anything. Sorry, will return in December.
The best new spot uptown! Authentic french rotisserie with an impressive affordable wine list. The desserts are amazing. I cant wait to come back and try more of the menu. The Guinea Fowl and Lamb we had was to die for. The outdoor patio has the coolest ambiance and the fans kept it comfortable. We felt like we were back in France.
There are only two tables inside and apparently must be requested on reservation. I was not given that option so had to sit outside in horrible heat and humidity.
Ordered from coolinary menu and we each received half of a small redfish filet. Think should have received the whole filet. Instead I got the tail and person next to me got top half.
Otherwise food was ok. Will try it again when weather is much cooler.
Delicious food in a charming setting with great service!
Lively venue and excellent food. Elegant but casual also.
Fabulous! My new favorite restaurant in the city. Sitting under a haint blue ceiling with fans blowing and a light rain was the most perfect setting. Everything was just delicious as well...guinea fowl perfectly roasted, with dauphinois potatoes (comfort food with a flair). Especially loved our waiter with the French accent. Merci!
The food and ambiance were wonderful. I can't wait to go back again. Our table was inside by the bar, and that was perfect. It was intimate and fun.
Place was just average as well as the food. My daughters duck was too chewy as well as my wife’s beef dish. Pheasant was good.
Service was very good
What a wonderful experience on Magazine. Very European feel. Staff and ambiance were first rate. Patio was a great fun! Good wine list/prices.
The food was excellent. Very well prepared. The desserts were outstanding
Great place to enjoy your meal. Delicious food and drinks, a must to check out!
I love this place! So unique to dine outside right on magazine street. Such a beautiful space and the rotisserie is a work of art. My group ordered a little of everything and did family style...everything was amazing! Impressively affordable wine list! I saw the reviews about the heat, but I didnt feel uncomfortable at all and no one in my group complained. The fans seemed to circulate air well.
Delicious French style food in a charming atmosphere. But be forewarned ... there are only 4 tiny tables inside where it’s air conditioned; the main dining room is open-aired with only fans to cool you! Way too hot in August. We’ll come back in November.
Absolutely Amazing. We loved the outdoor patio. Although it is August in New Orleans, we found it quite nice to dine outdoors. They have those water cooled outdoor AC units and fans to keep it comfortable. The Froze was delicious as well as the snapper and pheasant. Highly recommended.
AC wasn’t cooling inside. Darrel, our server was outstanding.
Fans in adequate for outdoor dining. Eat inside during the summer!
Unfortunately, there was no AC, which ruined the experience. Seems like the restaurant would notify you since they have phone and email contact.
The setting would be nice if it were cool enough to eat outdoors. Everyone was dripping with sweat — unappetizing. We ate inside with no AC.
So they are doing coolinary for $39. Shrimp app, swordfish, and dessert. It’s a pretty good deal.
Our main server was not very good but he was assisted by someone who was.
Bathroom was clean and COOL
Had the roast pheasant. Incredible. Got to smell them fresh off the rotisserie. The sauce they served it with was incredible. Perfect complement. The ceviche was tender and delicious. Staff was prompt, professional and polite. Manager was a great guy as well. Outdoor dining was nice, but it was a bit hot (August). the only draw back is they did not offer us an indoor table. But overall did not detract from food or service. Highly recommend.
It was my mistake not to have carefully read all of the reviews before dining at Bordeaux. Almost all of the seating is outdoors, and on a summer night the heat is uncomfortable to unbeatable. I started with an appetizer of crab meat and fried kohlrabi. This was quite tasty, with plenty of crab meat. The restaurant specializes in rotisserie. I had the rotisserie duck, and found it disappointing. The duck was chewy and lacking in flavor. The accompanying gratin dauphinois was good, bot the serving was tiny. Our table shared a dessert of pavlova, which was delicious. If I try Bordeaux again, it won’t be during the summer.
Wonderful dining as always. Dinner was delicious. Staff is exceptional!
Bordeaux is worth the visit. Visit France without the flight hassle. We sat on the patio;lots of fans and even misters to stay cool. Service: excellent an understated. Food: Chef Domenic in the kitchen was great. Food was spot on, very French. Wine list limited, very adequate! For the level of quality, very reasonable. We will return.
Our 5th visit since we discovered it - perfect setting for Renoir's Boating Party (if the street floods) - far enough from the trourists and full of the friendliest Uptown crowd - wine list very fair and excellent selection -"by the glass" section super interesting and inviting. The rotisserie dishes are remarkable - might be a good idea to offer them mixed as a "sampler" especially with combinations for two or more diners. The wait staff are real pros and know the menu details and the wine list perfectly.
Had a reservation for 2 for 9:30pm. We arrived a at 9:25pm. There was no host and the bartender said they don’t have any reservations. He said he needed to check with his manager.
We apologize if you were not seated immediately. It is our goal to seat patrons with reservations upon their arrival, and we almost always accomplish this. Thank you for letting us know so we can work on improving. Again, we are sorry to have failed you on timely seating.
Wow. This was our second visit to Bordeaux and it was amazing. The Menu had several new dishes. The Wahoo was the best fish Ive ever eaten. The Mint Julep was as good as any of the high end cocktail bars in the French Quarter. My girlfriend loved the Guinea Fowel and Froze. We love chillin on the outdoor patio, such a great concept. The misting fans kept it cool even in July heat. These guys are doing everything right. Bordeaux is our new favorite restaurant in the city. If you haven't been yet, your missing out.
Love this new restaurant. Lovely inside and out. We were seated on the patio, which is very relaxing. Even though it was a warm evening, the fans and the cooling machine made it very comfortable. We had champagne, and they have a very nice wine list and the bartender was helpful. Servers were very good and unobtrusive. I had the angus steak, very well prepared and tasty, and fresh cut French fries with a small salad included. My wife and daughter shared several appetizers--ceviche, tartare, and beet salad. Chef Dominique graciously prepared a foie gras appetizer with pears as they had run out of the duck pate. Wife and daughter loved it. Chef Dominique personally visited our table, which was very nice. I believe this restaurant will be a "go to" place. The menu is very creative and varied. Will definitely be back to try other things. Highly recommend.
Great setting with excellent service. Been here multiple times with always excellent service and food. Welcome addition to Uptown dining.
Absolutely amazing food and great service. Will definitely be returning
Incredible dining experience! The food was some of the best I’ve ever eaten and the chef came out to check on all the diners! I plan on going back again very soon.
This is a very small restaurant, but with a rotisserie which serves up delicious meats. It has an incredible wine list and we will definitely be back again.
I love the fact that some members of the wait staff are French. I think Bruno is very special.
Great ambience with the outdoor seating. Wine list was quite reasonable and the sommelier was most helpful. Salads were light and refreshing(disappointed they did not have sweetbreads-need to update online menu). The rotisserie duck and chicken were delicious, however both had the same exact sauce. Courses came out a bit too quickly but, Overall, nice meal
I saw the previous reviews regarding the air conditioning and heat outdoors....they clearly fixed the A/C. We found the inside very refreshing and comfortable while we waited at a beautiful live edge oak bar. The patio has those water cooled fans and was a beautiful space to dine. A truely unique dining experience! The snapper, lamb, pheasant were all amazing. I had the best old fashioned ever! I cant think of a better place uptown for a classic new orleans cocktail.
The food was rather bland. The red snapper was rather dry. Very limited wine selection. Table too small for four guests. Tables too close together. Noise level rather high. We did not enjoy the restaurant.
It was so hot and humid that evening! The bathroom was miserably hot! Will revisit in the fall when the weather is better...
I apologize for the warm atmosphere last weekend. We have a top notch outdoor patio cooling system ordered, but unfortunately it has been delayed by the manufacturer. We now have a temporary solution in place which should make it better. We also had a hiccup with the indoor AC system last weekend and have since remedied that problem. We are increasing indoor seating as well. The patio will be much more comfortable in 2 weeks.I hope that you will give us another chance and check out our upgrades.
