When you go to Booth One for dinner, do yourself a favor and don't sit at one of the tables in the bar. We chose the bar because all the window seating in the dining room had been reserved for a private party, and we thought it would be more fun in the bar than in the dining room given it was empty. But it was 5:00, and the bar became busy, leaving our waiter - the bartender ! - without much time to take care of us. So we did wait a long time for service. As far as the food, if you sit at a table in the bar area, you don't get the courtesy basket of bread that's so yummy. My dinner compansion was told there were 5 or 6 "deviled eggs" per order; there were 3, and only the yolk mixture was stuffed into tiny cream puffs the size of a quarter. So a little disappointing there. But the mini burgers and the steak frites were fine. I've said it before - the fries are just tiny little pieces the size of 1-2" rather than nice sized ones. Wish that would change!
Second time here both times were excellent. Food and service are top notch. Our drinks were taking awhile because the bar was very busy. Our server Griffin brought us glasses of champagne on the house as a way of saying we're sorry. Very classy and encapsulates the whole vibe of this restaurant.
What a delight to be back at Booth One after a few months. We were led to a window table and it made all the difference to us. For those wanting conversation and a lovely view on the street, this is the restaurant. It always strikes me how Booth One has the aesthetics down: perfect lighting and lovely music but acoustics that allow you to listen AND have a conversation where you can actually hear the person across from you! While the menu is somewhat limited, the food is always delicious. A little on the pricey side, if I'm really being honest. I'd love to see more seasonal offerings, like the nectarine upside down cake with berry ice cream, which was outstanding. The lobster salad was on the small side, so not an entree maybe, as my dinner companion hoped for, but just right for splitting or a side salad. The steak tartar was nicely balanced. I thought fries would be the perfect side, but the fries need a bump up from small (one-inch) pieces to full-size fries like the wonderful ones just up the street at RH. All told, we loved our time there and will return again soon. (Note to server: when I ordered prosecco, you asked if I wanted champagne instead; upsells leave some diners with bad tastes in their mouths. Otherwise you were perfectly perfect!)
The beef Wellington was DELICIOUS. I've never had it before and I would definitely go back to get that. Also the cheesecake was out of this world. The server knew all 5 of the specials... I would never be able to remember all of that information haha. Thanks!
Overall decent experience. Service was better than the food, atmosphere nice.
Such a gorgeous space. Great service - always super-friendly. Food is fantastic.
Excellent experience - great food and great service. The Beef Wellington was phenomenal
The last time we had been there was when it was the old Pump Room. We celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary there this past Saturday night.
Everything was spectacular and we enjoyed it. I will recommend Booth One to others.
As someone who frequented the old pump room many times, I am very disappointed to see what it has become. First, there is no intimacy in the restaurant at all. Maybe that’s popular now? But it was very different in the old days. The prices are very high, the service was fair, the food was adequate, but we will not be back.
A wonderful anniversary dinner! Fabulous service!
Very yummy food! Impeccable service and comfortable environment.
Booth One is always a delight. From traditional favorites like Beef Wellington to more creative dishes we always find things to to love. Great service and wonderful deserts make it a regular for us. Week nights are best.
This has got to be one if not the best LettuceEats restaurants there is my server cole w was exceptional I will be back.
The Beef Wellington is a must. Everything just terrific. Must add that Seth Wilson, sommelier, is a reason to dine here. Suggestions and pairings matched to both the food and us, with a great attitude. We're making some of the upcoming wine events because of him. Excellent dining spot.
Love, love, love. I expected over the top service, fabulous food, great drinks, in an amazing atmosphere and not only did Booth One meet those expectations-they were exceeded. Everything from start to finish was delicious. When you have professional chefs as friends you get nervous that they will be disappointed, not the case at Booth one. She loved everything from the amuse bouche to dessert.
Comfort Combined With Elegance.
From the courtesy and non-rushed experience of making the reservation, to the seemingly sincere "thank you," as we left, dining at Booth One is a lovely experience. The ambience is subdued elegance. The service is attentive and friendly without being the least overbearing or haughty. There are terrific selections on the menu with enough variety for the most picky eaters. The chocolate coconut cake for dessert is worth the visit.
Sue the manager, does an excellent job of overseeing this historic gem.
We celebrated our Anniversary at Booth One and from the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel special.
The food, music and ambiance were great too.
Such a beautiful space! Our server made great recommendations for a wonderful meal. It’s a bit pricy here, but you expect that in this area. Would definitely come back and spend some time in their lively bar area.
Perfection. Best music as always!
Nice restaurant, expensive as many hotel-adjacent spots below Fullerton can be. Not the fastest service and it didn't seem busy, but we didn't mind the wait because the ambiance was nice. Mom loved it!
Booth One provides a quiet, comfortable atmosphere with excellent food and terrific service. We had the beef Wellington and it was done to perfection.
Food was great
Disco lights on before close, awesome!
Get the chocolate cake
The restaurant was full but quiet enough to have a good conversation. Great for business meetings or anytime you actually want to hear what the other people are saying.
Food and service were spot on. Drinks were well prepared.
We went to check it out at dinnertime. Our waiter was very nice and fast. It was nice that they had a Burt Reynolds cocktail. It was bourbon-based. The chicken liver amuse bouche could've been skipped, neither of us enjoyed it. Our entrees were both filling, I got the lobster louie salad. My friend got the chicken frites.
Our party of 4 had Dover Sole as our entrees. The fish was perfectly done and served with brown butter on the side. We also had a vegetable side dish of corn and chanterelles which was excellent.
Service was excellent.
Exceptional in every way ! Everything was perfect
From the food to the service 10+
Booth One made our anniversary memorable. We were greeted with Happy Anniversary and given extras from a proseco toast to a cheesecake dessert.
This was a fun energetic place located inside of the Ambassador Hotel. Food and drinks are top notch. Can't wait to go back.
A wonderful makeover from the previous Pump Room. Extremely imaginative menu well executed and first rate service.
Dover sole was fantastic service great wine selection superb
The food is always great here and it is not very noisy so you can easily engage in a conversation. Our server, Andrew, was outstanding. He knows the food well and can pair wines. He was attentive in a perfect sense.
Did not meet expectations. Food and ambiance were both underwhelming.
Excellent service and food. A very pleasant experience.
Outstanding first visit!
Made reservations on- line after a quick look for romantic fine dining, mission accomplished.
The place was amazing from the first contact inside the front door(was not sure where we were going)
To the hostess that seated us(we were early) and it was not a problem. Then our server arrived , very pleasant and answered all questions. Made wonderful recommendations for food and drink.
This was a 27th anniversary night out for dinner and everything was perfect.
We will be back again!

First greeted with a warm welcome and a happy birthday to my dear friend. Atmosphere beautiful, staff amazing and on top of everything. Food was delicious. Great night. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant with awesome staff and great history. Thank you!!!
Very good food. Excellent service I think for s Diet Coke —-$4 is unfair
The place is greate, food is excellent, service and attention is also great but they mixed up the orders and had to apologize averytime they came to the table.
Service, food, atmosphere, and wine exceeded our expectations.
Great, great food and service. Everything was impeccable. Celebrated mom’s bday and they catered to her beautifully. Highly recommend! Desserts are the best I’ve had! Appetizers and entrees divine! Wonderful place to celebrate anything, and good for kids.
Historic, elegant space for a swanky fine dining experience. The room is really gorgeous, and brings back happy memories of dining here over the years. While I wouldn't call it adventurous, our dinner was excellent. The fois gras was to die for, my husband loved his Beef Wellington, and I loved my halibut with morel mushroom sauce. The caesar was a little bland. Service was friendly and terrific. The only downside was the 70's disco music that played the entire night. Fun in small doses, but the beautiful space deserves better. Fairly pricey. Best for a special occasion.
