The decor of this place is cool with sort of a Western theme. The big wood fire oven is fun to look at. The food is phenomenal. I ordered the andouille mac-and-cheese and I liked it a lot more than I thought it would. This was also the place where I learned to love artichoke dip, so that is something to try as well!
The food was pretty cold and bland and the cake was incredibly dry and lacking. Our server was great though!
This place was ok....typical bar food.....circle booths were cramped!
Wife needed GF food prep. Waitress said all selected items were GF, but wife became ill later in the evening. One of the food items was not prepared GF correctly.
Service was excellent but the food wasn’t very good. The bulls bites were pretty good but the meals we got were not good. I had the chop salad. Too many chickpeas, no corn which is mentioned in the description and the chicken was fatty and grisly. The French toast crust was so hard you couldn’t cut it and the sausage was dry and flavorless. The bathrooms were very dirty, ceiling falling, rusty and rundown. The music was too loud.
Fish fry is amazing. Service on this night was unusually poor.
We went out for a very nice dinner, first time since October! We both ordered prime rib and came to the table cold. There was some grissle running through my piece and my whole corner of my plate was full of fat! I ordered mashed potatoes they were cold and so full of garlic I was unable to eat them. Then what restaurant does not have Thousand Island dressing!! Then we ordered the “big cookie”, it was over baked and bone dry. What a disappointment.
After our first experience and my (very honest and bad) review here on Open Table the restaurants GM emailed me and apologized for our experience and asked if she could correct it. She invited us back for a second time to retry their restaurant food and service. She very politely thanked me for me honesty and forwardness in my (horrible) review and stated that corrections had already been made. She said that she invited us back as a thank you because it gave her the opportunity to make corrections that would lead to better future experiences for guests and her establishment as a whole. This “second time around” has definitely changed my view and we will continue to go here because of the GM and her awesome response to our first visit! Thanks Bonfire Eagan!!!
Didn’t get helped for 15 minutes, other than that it was good!
Food wasn’t very good- when flavoring , they over did it. The basil on flatbread pizza was overdone, and the mini cheesecakes should not have been served, kind of had an old fruit cake taste
This was a horrible experience... When we arrived we were told that we had to sit in the bar area, because they were reserving booths and tables that we reserved via reservation preference. The host that seated us was very forward about there being no possibility of us changing to a different table. We were seated at a high top table right next to the bar as we'll as a server station which was very busy, high traffic and loud. The server that we received was very young and knew nothing about their menu and how food was prepared. The drinks that we were served were horribly mixed, my wife received a chipped glass (dangerous) and the food was OK. The whole time that we were there (approx 45min) none of the tables that we were told were reserved were filled and part way through our visit the bar area that we were seated changed over to "night life" and the music volume went up considerably and the enjoyment of the dinner experience went downhill fast. We could not get out of there fast enough. It was definitely not worth the money spent. Also just like we can choose to add a seating preference through Open Table we should also know when the establishment is going to limit our seating option!!!
Service was a little slow limited menu was not the best
I’m not sure I would recommend. Prior to using the restroom I may have. The restrooms were dirty and smelly... similar to a public park. If they are ok with their restrooms like this, what does the kitchen look like?? Yuk!
Food was good. Server was good. Ambiance is cool!
I would refresh the bathrooms.
Extremely disappointing. Service was spectacularly bad, including waitress asking a guest to open the bottle of wine. I’ve never seen that before! It only got worse from there. Our table of five received four meals after an extended wait. The fifth never showed and no explanation until we asked. It was quickly “re-ordered” after involvement of the manager, who provided that meal complimentary. Unfortunately, that was the only good meal. Their signature bourbon steak was terrible. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a worse piece of meat. Things still stayed bad. None of the dishes were cleared until we asked, including empty glasses from our first drink. Finally, the loud commentary from the ongoing trivia game in the bar was piped into the dining room. The manager understood our many complaints - and it was a nice gesture to comp the late meal - but overall it was a very poor dining experience.
Our Santa Breakfast experience was wonderful. The best part about it is that there was no feeling of being rushed. The restaurant was comfortably full and Santa is a joy. We love the way he came to each table and greeted the kids. Ours were a bit young for Santa, but we will definitely make this an every year event in the Christmases to come!
This was for Thanksgiving meal. We have not been there otherwise but would not go back to this special occasion/holiday menu. They charged the kids as adults, dessert cold, food very average to slightly below. Although it was all you could eat, which was nice, we didn't get anymore. Our server and other staff were very friendly and the place was clean. Maybe a better place to eat for a regular menu.
Kids meal pizza was cheese melted on cardboard. This used to be better
Not enough pita chips were given with the fondido. We asked for more and they were sitting up there awhile before being brought to our table, so service was slow and we were there at 3pm. Two of us ordered different steaks. Mine was medium well instead of medium. The other’s steak tasted of liver. I wouldn’t go there for dinner again but maybe for drinks.
The restaurant was very empty for a a Saturday night. Our server was nice but ditzy. Took four requests to get water. She missed the potato side for one person and took 15 minutes to get. I had a side salad with my meal that was supposed to be $2.95 but she charged $4.95.
Food was very good.
The Salmon salad is very cheaply made. Overall our food was okay, no one at my table commented about the overall food quality. Our waitress was extremely nice and caring but probably won’t recommend this restaurant.
Food was cold. No filets available. Very disappointed.
This was an efficient and pleasant visit. Our server - Tony was fantastic. Very friendly and personable. My friend couldn't decide on a cocktail so he offered to choose one for her and it was spot on. It was a nice dinner to catch up with friends, have some apps and cocktails with no fuss.
I never give a bad review unless it’s absolutely ridiculous! As we order, we learned that they don’t have green bean, which is ok, but then we asked for different veggies.... and you know it, they didn’t have anything else! They said we can count a side salad as a veggie side. But since I already have a side salad, I didn’t want two of them. I ordered wild rice side. We waited 45 min for our food (4 meals), which included 1 kids meal and 1 side of fries for our toddler. The food came out and the wild rice was very crunchy (they exchanged it with mashed potatoes) and the side of sautéed mushrooms was sweet like syrup. Steak was good. They also didn’t have glasses for iced tea, so they served iced tea in cocktail glasses. No colors or anything for the kids to do, not even a kids menu or coloring stuff to keep kids entertained. The internet also doesn’t works and the phone reception sucks so we are literally stuck their waiting with our kids and can’t even have them watch our phones. This is unfortunate for the price you pay for the meal and service. It is also too bad since the servers are the ones who get to deal with the unhappy customers and it is not their fault. We are definitely not going back!
The food was good and my friend said the wine was delicious, however the service was sub-par. We ordered appetizers expecting they would come first, however all of our food arrived at the same time. Additionally, refills on soda was so slow we asked a different server since we were waiting so long. Lastly, our primary server didn't bring spoons out with the shareable dessert resulting in ice cream melting as we were waiting. I'm not saying that I won't go back, but I did have higher expectations based on menu/prices/ambience....
My food was raw and Full of bones. The meal was bland and the food was not good at all. The only good part was the chocolate cake.
My fiancé and I are both gluten free (gf) due to a gluten allergy. We informed our server of this and specified that all menu items needed to be prepared gf. I ordered the bull bites and my fiancé order the split roast chicken. He ordered the wild rice pilaf and green beans for his side items - when ordering, we were very specific that they both had to be gf. I even said that if one of the items wasn’t gf, we would have the asparagus instead. Our server checked with the kitchen and informed us that the green beans and rice were both gf. However, when our meals came out, the green beans were covered in teriyaki sauce. I was not aware of this, so I went to eat one and immediately tasted the teriyaki sauce, so I flagged down our server as she was coming by and asked her to double check to see if the green beans were gf because I tasted teriyaki sauce on them which I know is not typically gf. She took the plate away and said they were not gf. Then she came back to our table with the same plate saying she checked with all three of chefs and they guaranteed her that the green beans were 100% gf. Neither my fiancé nor I continues to eat them because we still did not trust that they were gf. After we had finished our meal and paid the bill, I asked our server to ask the kitchen how hey prepared the green beans - for my own piece of mind. A little while later, the assistant manager came up to our table and informed us that the green beans were in fact not gf because they were prepared in the teriyaki sauce. Tho we chose not to eat the rest of them, my fiancé got very ill and was on the toilet for the rest of the night and into the next morning. The Assistant Manager was nice and offered us two complimentary entrees should we visit again. However, I may be hesitant to visit that location in the future. I expect a higher level of caution in the food industry when it comes to food allergies. That was not the case at this Bonfire location. For that, I am very disappointed.
We had dinner on a Wednesday night at Bonfire in Eagan and the service and food were both really great! We had the dirty sirloin and the pan fried walleye. They were both delicious!
For a Tuesday night anniversary dinner it was perfect. Not too busy. Not too loud. Food prepared perfectly. Server was amazing. And I didn't have to donate blood to pay for it. So many times we go out expecting great service/food and are disappointed. Not at Bonfire. It's become our go to date restaurant.
Went here for their Friday fish fry and was not disappointed!
food just doesnt stack up to the other bonfire restaurants
our manager tried and tried but the kitchen couldnt produce
any decent food
Good food, great service!
Had a great dining experience. Food was good and atmosphere outstanding as well.
Food was cold, hamburger was like a frozen patty, tasteless, special entree request was not presented, even though place was practically empty, service was very very slow
We enjoyed our dinner at Bonfire. We celebrated my niece's birthday and enjoyed a fabulous dessert as a gift from Bonfire. We will certainly be back.
Bonfire Eagan - not a good experience food and ambience. My husband ordered the salmon dinner. The salmon was old and the mashed potatoes old and dry. I had the salmon salad the salad was good the salmon was old - very fishy taste. We arrived at 5:45 pm on a Saturday and there was maybe 20-30 people there - no energy in the room at all. Our waiter however was outstanding - he was friendly and on top of taking care of us. Going forward we will stick with other Bonfire locations.
We went specifically for the fish fry that they have every Friday. The last couple times they were out of shrimp but supplemented with more walleye or cod. This time they had shrimp but all of the fish pieces were about half the size as previous, but it was actually about the right size and we didn’t need a doggy bag! This has always been prepared well and flavorful!
Bummed that there is no longer a mimosa or bloody mary bar available for customers. The drinks now need to be poured by staff.
Great server, quiet. Some food not very hot but taste was great
Great experience there as always. I had the filet and my friend had the walleye. Service was prompt and thoughtful. Definitely recommend for a dinner out.
