I started dining at Bones in the early 80’s when I was coming to Atlanta several times per year on business. This continued for over twenty years. Every visit was a delight. The food and service were unparalleled. Over the years I have dined at most of the great steakhouses in Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, L.A., and as I lived in NYC for two years I frequented all of steak havens there as well (including “you know who” in Brooklyn, many times). In addition I have experienced many gems in other cities and countries. Through all that Bones stayed at the top of my list. So when I had a recent trip to Atlanta after an absence of two decades, I decided to visit my old favorite. I invited four business associates to join me. As I spent two days bragging about this place I was secretly a little nervous - sometimes things change. What a relief to find out my worries were totally unfounded. The steaks were fantastic, service second to none, and unless your style is to enjoy your meal inside of a boom box, the sound level and ambiance were great. Can you find service as good? If you look real hard you may find a few. equals. The Steaks? I have consumed several hundred pounds of fine steaks over the years (and my waistline proves it)! Can you find a better piece of meat? Not in my experiance. Bottom line, put Bones on your Bucket List. You will be overjoyed you did!

Best steak house in the country happens to be in Atlanta, GA. After 35+ years Bone's keeps getting better and better. Best fresh Maine lobster and aged steaks. Always get the Bone's salad and cup of lobster bisque. This visit went off the chart and ordered Red Snapper that was cooked liked the steaks, perfect. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you have the best dining experience on any occasion. Monroe, our server was excellent.

The quintessential Atlanta spot to celebrate. Our family was celebrating a retirement and soaked up every piece of the experience - food, service, atmosphere. And...the way they sear the Bone In Ribeye to capture the flavor is second to none.

Coming from the Midwest I know my steaks. Unfortunately this was not one of the best steaks and it was undercooked from my order of medium. The flavor of the cut was bland and the searing was over charcoaled. This followed by a server who insisted on telling my wife unless you want it chewy to order it medium vs med rare. Well they where both med rare. I ordered a lobster tail add on and it was over cooked. The French onion soup was very good and the mushroom side was also good. We arrived early and found seating in the bar area. We where early for our reservation due to traffic being light. Service in the bar area was slow and understaffed and unless you sat at the bar (which was reserved seating also) you could not order an appetizer. Another strange thing was a waiting line to use the men’s bathroom. 2 urinals on one side and a solo toilet on the other. The two times I needed to go there was a line and a inconvenient wait. The place was busy and the ambient noise makes for a not so quiet dinning experience. I also felt that for as upscale as the prices are that the patrons seemed to be very underdressed which unfortunately cheapens the place for me. For the price of our dinner and pre dinner cocktails we pushed passed the $300 mark. Yes this is a business that has been around for a long time but I was just not impressed and I truly wanted to be “Wowed” as their reputation is one of a top notch steak destination. Sorry bones you just did not meet my expectations.

Bones is overrated and overpriced for food that was not good. My steak was dry and tough. My broccoli was crunchy with no seasoning at all.

Bones was delicious, as usual. It is our favorite restaurant in Atlanta ! The steaks were very tender and the Lobster Bisque was better than I remember. The Pecan Pie, Oh MY !! Perfect ending to a memorable meal.
We make a point to eat there every time we go to Atlanta, 2-3 times a year. We will be back, AGAIN !!

Fabulous service. Great atmosphere. The noise level was just right, but not cacophonous. My only suggestion would be to broaden the wine selections by the glass to provide some reasonably priced selections - at least in the "by the glass" options.

Service was so slow and so inconsistent. Had to ask four times for tea. Lamb was almost entirely bone. So many patrons were dressed too sloppy, jeans, etc. like going to longhorns.

The host asked us to wait in the bar until our table was ready but never came to get us. After a half-hour we asked about getting seated and were then seated. If we hadn't asked, I don't know how long we would have waited to be seated.

Bones is my favorite steak house in the USA. As always, our food, service and overall experience were outstanding. The wine list is amazing and craft cocktails are excellent. And their steaks are absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection every time!
If anyone has not dined here you should definitely make it a stop on your next trip to Atlanta!

Experience matched the ratings. Amazing food, service, ambiance but don’t come if on a budget. This is a definite high end establishment not for the faint of heart. My opinion is that you won’t be disappointed. You won’t go hungry. There are probably no wrong choices on the menu. But your wallet will definitely be lighter. But like a trip to Fiji....worth it!

This was my second time at Bones, and it was just as wonderful as my first time there. The service was impeccable, and the food was even better. I've never felt so special at a meal-they take care of you so well. And it's not rushed, it's such a relaxing enjoyable experience from the minute you sit down with the warm bread through dessert. Cocktails were great, Caesar salad was great, but the entrees were just SO delicious. My fiancé got a bone-in ribeye that was so tender and flavorful, and I got a crab-stuffed trout with Marcona almonds and a Chardonnay sauce. Very filling but delicious. And when the mile-high cake arrived for dessert, I thought I wouldn't have any room, but once I tasted it I changed my mind... Can't wait to go back for our next special occasion.

My sister in law was celebrating a big birthday and we wanted to treat her. She and her husband have recently relocated to north Georgia and had never been to Bones. We thought they would like it, and they certainly did. Derrick took good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. All four of us ordered filets and they were perfect. Our sides were exactly what we wanted and we had just the right amount of food and drink.
We love Bones for our in town good time out destination. If you’re in the mood for steak in Atlanta, there really is no better choice.
