We started with a bottle of wine, and the bead they brought. My buddy and I had the filet mignon, but I added a lobster tail, and my other buddy had the NY Strip. We had Asparagus and the mashed potatoes since it was “family style”. The food was real good and the wine was ok. I had the cheesecake which was very good and my buddies had the key lime which they liked also. Then the bill came my buddies were using cc’s and I was using cash. When the waiter came to the table one of my buddies explained it to him. He said just a minute and pulled out a notepad to write it down. Then he came back and in a VERY RUDE manner and tone accused us of not paying the total amount for the bill. Again it was explained to this waiter in a $125 + $75 + $150 = $350 was more than the $300 bill. Now, he blaming someone else for the mistake. Not a good end to what was our 1st and last trip to Bones. Next time using a calculator my keep you for losing customers.
Great food, excellent waiter, and good drinks. Very impressed with entire wait staff all working together.
Bones is a must when we come to Atlanta! The service is always wonderful, and the food is delicious. They definitely make a special occasion feel special!
Difficult to know where to start, so here’s the backstory. 1) To celebrate a Work Promotion and the Sale of a house from which we recently moved, my wife and I decided to splurge on dinner and a very expensive bottle of wine, 2) When I asked the Server if we could speak to the Sommerlier, he mentioned that he was in effect the sommerlier...that should have been a warning signal, 3) After reviewing choices on the Tablet provided, I chose a 2004 vintage of a Cabernet for an unfamiliar vineyard, 4) When the wine was delivered, it was a 2007...I thought that my memory was faulty and it was still excellent wine, so I decided to let that go, 5) Later after the check came, I noticed that we had been charged for the 2004 vintage, and I could confirm that we had received the 2007 vintage becaus the cork was still in front of me, 6) Still not thinking anything was horribly amiss, I asked the Server why there was a disconnect, and whether there was a price difference between the two vintages...as it turns out, the 2004 was $125 more expensive than the 2007, so we were being overcharged. 7) The server quickly acknowledged the mistake, so no concerns there...however, he said, “Yeah, I couldn’t find the 2004, so I just grabbed the 2007 instead.” I cannot even acuse the server of anything nefarious, as he obviously knows little about wine if he thinks vintages are interchangeable (especially for high-end wines). Ultimately, what was meant to be close to a once-in-a-lifetime celebration was ultimately a letdown...separately from this wine fiasco, he wrote off the costs of my Bone-in Ribeye because it had been sitting out too long before being sent to the table (this was his idea, not mine) and at one point the table behind us complained about food being delivered cold. I feel bad for the server because I could not tell if he was new, overwhelmed, etc., but there are too many other good dining alternatives in Atlanta for Bones to rest upon their laurels like this.
Always a favorite when in Atlanta.
Lane did an outstanding job of taking care of us!
Husbands 60th Birthday
Old fashioned, which is fine if you maintain the level of service that this usually implies but not great if your server forgets food and wine. Even that would be fine if he were around to remind. The food is slightly above average and priced with an overconfidence of quality . Not the worst by any means, but certainly not close to the best. This place is declining.
My husband, son and I went to Bones to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. You only turn half a century old once so you might as well splurge and splurge we did. Though this is certainly a fine dining establishment and frequented by the upper class and celebrities, we were treated the same as every patron. The service and food were empecable! Our waiter Derrick was simply FANTASTIC and made us feel at home! He is from Louisiana near my husband’s home town of New Orleans so we made an instant connection. I can truly say that we enjoyed our entire experience at Bones!
high quality delicious food and great service.....atmosphere and place setting were very welcoming, would recommend to anyone /anytime....
Definitely meets expectations; and noise levels were reasonable so that we could easily have a business conversation. It's definitely old school feeling/ambiance and they have every corner filled. Steak was outstanding.
Always great! Have never been disappointed here. The lunch special was perfect.
Was the night previous to my wife’s birthday, an excellent dinner with a very distinguished service...excellent food...
Always the most delicious aged porterhouse & great service..we visit 4-5 times per year.
Wonderful Anniversary dinner!
Great experience dinner with family.
Bones never disappoints. Our meal was fabulous and steaks fantastic. My husband was delayed at the airport and the staff all waited on him to get there to serve our steaks together. Such a nice gesture and we really appreciated it. Always love eating at Bones!
Wait staff not at level of last visit. Adjacent table was vulgar. I had to go talk to them about loudly using the F-bomb. Staff just ignored behavior.
Food was excellent.
"Old school" steak house with traditional dishes and outstanding service. Wine list is extensive with a wonderful variety. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I had a filet with foie gras and my husband had a striploin. He had a Caesar salad with fresh anchovies and I had a wedge salad. Everything was wonderful.
Celebrating a 40th birthday. The food was excellent and they were just the right amount of attentive. This was a last minute decision after flying in and we snapped up the next to last reservation on a Thursday night. Other than the server not bringing my friends wine the evening was amazing.
The food was disappointing. I've been there before and I must say the quality of the food was not up to their usual standards. Their seafood tower and bone-in ribeye were very meh. The crab seemed "old." The ribeye was nothing special. Companions ordered the Wagyu beef which was the highlight. Overall just wasn't an exceptional experience. The staff was okay to good but not excpetional IMO. It was a good atmosphere for a business dinner but wasn't mind blowing. I'll probably go back but it's fallen down my list of steak places in Atlanta.
Excellent service! Top Notch! Paul was exceptional! Too good! Cheers!
Bones is a classic steakhouse located right in Buckhead. Like all high-end steakhouses, it isn't cheap. However, you will leave there plenty satisfied. Excellent food and desserts. Traditional steak house menu with some extra southern flair. Seafood tower doesn't include clams or oysters so steer clear of that. It's a great choice for a business dinner. Also, I like that it's a local place and not a large national steak house chain. Start with a Bones Martini at the bar.
Hands down, the best restaurant in Atlanta
Worth it every single time.
Wonderful! Great ambiance. If you enjoy a steak, hands down the best place in Atlanta. Service was phenomenal and they were always one step ahead.
Great steak house. It does not have the cool club ambiance that many of today's steakhouses have. But it is Ok as the steaks make up for it! The 8oz. waygu steak was one of the best steaks I have ever had (and I have had a lot of steaks). If I lived in Atlanta I would be there every couple months!
Bone's is a great place to go for dinner or lunch. Steaks are the best in Atlanta and the sides are killer!!
From the time you enter the restaurant you can tell it is first class. The bar tenders are great & the drinks are even better. The people that greet you call you by name, thank you for coming & congratulate on the occasion you are celebrating. A real classy night out. Ted D.
Celebrated at Bone's for my adult son's birthday. The bartenders expertly crafted a Bones Manhattan while I was waiting, and engaged me in conversation, welcoming back. Our waiter's wine recommendation matched our price range and we enjoyed the vintage. And dinner, "what's not to like at Bones"? The steaks were delicious, the sides were plentiful, and the service was attentive. My favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
Superb food and service as always. Our favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
Bones is an Atlanta treasure that never disappoints. The service is phenomenal, the wine list is excellent, and the food is devine. This is my go to business dinner restaurant for steaks and shareable sides, with excellent course options. I've never had a single bad experience. The staff is both upscale and approachable and friendly. Bones is a restaurant where you get both an excellent, 5 star meal and a warm, welcoming environment. Hands down Atlanta's best steakhouse, and old school cozy at that.
Always a consistent experience here. Great service; terrifically prepared food, and always a fun time!
What a great experience! Great food and the staff is absolutely TOP notch, very attentive. The bartender was friendly, the wine list being digital was fun and easy to understand.
The food and service were great. Steaks were cooked as asked and seasoned to accentuate the taste of the meat NOT mask it which is key. I would definitely come back
Delicious food. Attentive Wait Staff. Pricey. Could use some updating
My husband and I really enjoyed the service and attention to detail. It was his birthday and the meal was excellent. Our meats was cooked to profection. The staff greeted us upon entry and said Happy Birthday to my husband. The entire night was a true celebration. We had been there in the 1980 and it was great then and outstanding now.
We made a reservation for a group of 6 and requested a quiet area in the restaurant. When we arrived I was very pleased that they gave us a private room. The food at Bones is always outstanding and the service was great.
