the Napoleonic era give the restaurant the intimate character
that guests treasure. An exquisite cuisine, prepared with French savoir-faire
and showcasing the finest fresh regional products.
We were there a few years back for our anniversary, tonight my birthday. If we did not live in another province we would dine here more often. Exemplary staff, outstanding cuisine and who can fault the location, old Montreal. A rare jewel that should be savoured. Merci beaucoup!
My boyfriend and I went to Bonaparte to celebrate our five year anniversary. We loved it !
We ordered a bottle of wine from a super large list of wines. We then proceed to the food menu and took the “menu de dégustation.” Super deliii! We had like 5 or 6 dishes and a variety of desserts. Everything was cooked to the perfect point. The ambience was great, the service was impressive. Our waiter was so warm and attentive. I think his name was Fred. Then our second waiter was also great!
We couldn’t pick a better placed to celebrate.
excellent evening at Bonaparte. Food and service were fantastic, would recommend. Tried a glass of the sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio and both were on to the too sweet side.
slow and good
The service was amazing! Thank you to the gentlemen that tended to our table. We ordered the Degustation Menu. There was value in the food as each dish was prepared with lots of care and effort in creativity however my tastebuds were asking for more. I would certainly still recommend this place to anyone looking for value in a tasting menu.
Everything about our experience at Bonaparte was wonderful. The food was so amazingly delicious. I loved the shrimp and scallops in vanilla sauce and my husband said the filet mignon was one of the best he’s ever had. Our server was attentive and he was so patient as we tried to practice our French. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful night out.
Absolutely fabulous restaurant with amazing quality of food and service
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we felt so welcome! The Maître D greeted us right away and we were seated immediately(we had a reservation). Our server Fredrick was friendly, polite and professional! We ordered a beautiful bottle of wine and ordered the lobster salad and smoked salmon as appetizers. Both were excellent. Our main course was duck breast..cooked to perfection and to top a perfect evening off...a Grand Marnier Soufflé..The atmosphere was wonderful..can’t say enough about this restaurant...we will be back and we’re from Toronto. Worth the trip to Old Montreal.
Restaurant had a very good selection of food and wine. The atmosphere is nice and popular. It is definitely a good choice for special occasions such as anniversaries etc. Personnel was very attentive, especially with our 2 years old son.
I recommend the “menu degustation” especially. I definitely enjoyed the duck as main course.
100% satisfied-=-excellent food-wine list-careful service- elegant classic place!
Too expensive for the food you get. Freezing cold aircon. Winelist ok but extremly expensive wines
Service was great. The beef was great The chicken was not.
We thoroughly enjoyed the taster menu. In fact, more than a taster, the courses were almost full sized, so we felt that it was good value for money. The service was friendly and respectful. A great experience!
Beautiful unique heritage building in the heart of old Montreal. The food was top notch cuisine and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any one .
Although our experience was wonderful, the service was even more outstanding. Our waitress (I think her name was Catherine) was amazing, truly friendly and went out of her way to make our meal delightful.
Excellent food, service and surroundings. I would highly recommend this quaint upscale restaurant. Perfect for a special occasion.
Very good food and wonderful staff. Our table was an odd little spot near where they cut the bread but that was a minor detail compared to the overall experience.
Every part of my experience was phenomenal! The food was delicious, the ambiance perfect, and the staff was exceptional. It was my first time in Canada and Montreal and it made my experience one I’ll always treasure.
We were staying at Hotel Bonaparte so decided to dine at the restaurant. The food was delicious as well as the wine. The table d’hote menu was a fantastic value and delicious. Service was impeccable. We would highly recommend Bonaparte.
Delightful restaurant. Friendly staff. A wee bit slow - but not out of the ordinary pace. Starters were outstanding. Mains - just good. Not great. Meaning - the lamb rack sauce had just a faint flavor - and the Dover sole was kind of plain.
Great location, ambiance, food and service. I felt like royalty dinning at this place.
The Grand Marnier soufflé was to die for!
My mother and I went to Bonaparte Restaurant for a nice meal during our vacation in Montréal. It was a lovely experience--the food was delicious and the service was excellent! We had the table d'hôte, and it was an excellent value.
Excellente table. Menu dégustation fortement recommandé.
The service is attentive. The tasting dinner is amazing and excellent value.
Excelente lugar!
Excellent cuisine. Knowledgeable waiter. Gracious host and hostess
The food is outstanding/ Cocktail menu can improve. Love the various Menus- great selection
Excellent restaurant. The service was superb would give a 6 if possible. Food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed.
Amazing foie gras, service was prompt, overall memorable experience
As always, the place to go for a delicious and original meal. Service is impeccable. Wine list impressive. A must to discover and rediscover.
Great service superb food
Our third time visit
Our favourite place
Bonaparte is a long standing great restaurant for classic French cuisine. Guaranteed good food and ambience. We had he tasting menu which was excellent and allowed you to try a variety of excellent dishes. You are in old Montreal which is nice to stroll through after wards. Highly recommend.
It was a lovely evening. Service was attentive and professional. Boreal martinis were great. We did the fixed price menu which was great value. The venison terrine was delicious. I had the haddock in a wonderful wine butter sauce. My husband had the Hanger steak which he raved about. Desserts of lime/lemon pie and caramel flan were also great. The ability to order a 1/2 bottle wine was perfect. A wonderful non roadhouse, non pub evening. We loved it!
Have dined with Bonaparte several times over the past few years and the debate as we walk out is always...which was more outstanding? The food or the service? Yet another visit that did not disappoint. Thank you....we will be back...again!
Delicious dinner! Even the kids liked it! Our server was wonderful and attentive. I highly recommend Bonaparte.
Great food, service and ambiance. However, a little pricey.
My fiancé and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and our engagement. We did the tasting menu and it was amazing, multi-note, and exciting without being overwhelming. Even though he is a bit picky, he enjoyed all his dishes. The service was amazing and attentive but not overbearing. It was a great experience!
An amazing place with an even more amazing service. Our waiter had a marvelous attitude and the food was magnificent! We will return many more times!
