Outstanding restaurant! We go every time we are in Montreal. Never disappointed
The lamb shank was not good, my fiancée couldn’t even eat it. The steak I had was okay but nothing really note worthy. The service was good though and the staff were kind. Overall, I did not feel like we got what we paid for in terms of value and quality of food.
Good service. Great food . Nice interior decor. Good ambiance.
Excellent! Food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Enough creativity for a new take on classic French cuisine, with great execution. Friendly staff, and impeccable service.
The food and the service were simply amazing! Would recommend for date night!
Took some time to be welcomed at the table. Although the waitress did apologize for the wait, otherwise 5 stars.
The food and the atmosphere. The sommelier, a lady whose name we did not catch was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This restaurant is ALWAYS outstanding. I would recommend highly.
This classic French menu did not disappoint. The food was excellent from start to finish. Particularly notable was the great 1/2 litre of Cahor Malbec, which was amazing. The wait staff were very attentive and pleasant. My one regret was that we made the reservation months in advance when we booked the room in the hotel, but we obviously did not qualify for the best tables at the window?! I was not aware that these tables were the best until we actually walked into the restaurant. I would have thought that those actually staying in the hotel and those making a reservation far in advance, would be given some special consideration with seating.
The service was incredible and food amazing.I would recomend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.
Absolutely recommend the Bonaparte.
The service and food have always been excellent. Cannot wait to return!
We had an awesome evening at Bonaparte on Valentine’s day. Food and service were extraordinary, thank you so much! Everything was so classy.
Just Perfect, amazing experience. Food was pure tallent, and the waiters were lively and fun.
The Best meal and service!!! Very clean and the best tank by the windows 👍🏿
Our Favourite Old Montreal Restaurant. My wife and I visited Bonaparte again for this year’s Valentine’s Day tasting menu. This romantic French restaurant is our favourite for many reasons. The old town setting with beautiful ambiance, a Napoleon flair and a warm fireplace. The amazing staff and service from everyone who were all delightful as they anticipated our every need. The food was cooked to perfection again and all delicious. My wife and I had the lobster bisque, smoked salmon, wild game terrine, seafood in puffed pastry, goat cheese in phyllo pastry, arctic char, lamb shank & chop, and selection of sweet desserts. They also have a wonderful wine list. We had the French Vin d’Alsace Riesling, my wife’s favourite. Another wonderful romantic evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day along with a red rose for my wife. We will be back again and again for sure. Thank you Bonaparte.
Excellent french fare!
This was an amazing restaurant. The ambiance, staff, food, presentation and wine knowledge was all excellent. We had the escargot appetizer and Lobster dinner. Overall an amazing experience. I highly recommend this place.
The meal was extraordinarily good, as was the service! We will go there again for sure when back in Montreal!
I like this restaurant, it's nice, the food is very good. This time I didn't like the french fries and half bottle of vine was served in carafe, so no way to know if the vine we ordered was realy served. The vine was not good and they charged us for more expensive vine
I am always satisfied with this restaurant. It is one of the best restaurants in Montreal. The tasting menu is fabulous and really good value for money.
Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Definitely will return
Very good food and service. However one or two stumble when explaining the dishes but nothing major. Would defenetly go again
I asked for a special table to celebrate my friend's birthday - table at the window was perfect! Terrific food, service and atmosphere.
On Saturday, February 2, 2019 we visited the restaurant for an anniversary dinner. I made the reservations a few days before, and requested a quiet table. When we arrived, we waited for a few minutes and then got one of the best tables (in my opinion) - we got window seat, very romantic and quiet. The service was amazing, our server was very good, very attentive and we received our food very promptly. We order the catch of the day, as part of the the Table D'Hote and it was delicious - compliments to the Chef. We will definitely come back and recommend the restaurant.
Thank you for making our special night even more special during our trip to Montreal.
The service and the waiters were absolutely amazing. The waiters were not intrusive, and they did not even kick us out when we stayed after the closing time. The background music was perfect for the ambiance.
Food was also delicious!
We got stuck in traffic for over two and a half hours on our way there and they very kindly held our table for us even though they were quite busy. The food was excellent and so was the service. We had a very nice evening.
Never disappointed. Always a very good option when we visit Montreal. Service is on point and the food is delicious. Ask to sit in the window seat when you make your reservation. Great for watching the street scene in Old Montreal.
Wonderful evening wonderful place fabulous service exceptional food.
We are very satisfied repeat diners st Bonaparte. We go about once a month and always look forward to an excellent meal, friendly and thoughtful service and elegant ambience.
Food was amazing! Will definitely return. Staff were very professional. Superior restaurant to say the least!
Quiet Tuesday in snowy cold Montreal. Was seated early. Loved the space. The staff were friendly and helpful. The wine selections were amazing. And well the food, I had the steak tartare and it ranks with the best.
Absolutely perfect in every regard. Beautiful space, gracious and charming host and server, wonderful wine list, exquisite food. Highly recommend the chef’s tasting menu. One of the best restaurant experiences of my life, and I have traveled globally and eaten in some outstanding venues. This place is a jewel.
We love this restaurant. The tasting menu is the best we have experienced anywhere! Service, food and wine are above average. Bonaparte is always a highlight to our Montréal trips.
I was recommended to Bonaparte by a French chef from the New England Culinary Institute. My first dinner was in 1999 and have been going back ever since. It is a lovely restaurant that does not disappoint. I have recommended it to many friends and they love Bonaparte as well and keep going back.
Groupe de 6 unanime sur la grande qualité de ce restaurant
Traditional French cuisine served in a beautiful room.
Delicious and authentic, will definitely return.
We've been going to Café Bonaparte for years. It's a comfortable neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good as is the service. It's terrific for brunch or dinner. They have gluten free options which is important for me. I'd highly recommend it if you like French food.
It was elegant but not pretentious. Good food. Nice ambience. Not too quiet or too loud. The waiter was impeccable. I would go back!
We often go to Bonaparte before the plays at Centaur Theatre where we have been subscribers for nearly 40 years. The restaurant rarely disappoints. The Theatre menu is good value, the wait staff is very professional and the food is uniformly excellent. The welcome is particularly friendly, and the ambience lovely, attractive and not noisy like many other restaurants.
