    Overall, the place was too noisy and had dance music going (7 pm). Not the vibe we were looking for. It was our first time eating Peruvian food. Overall, I don’t think I’m a fan. However, I will say the half chicken was good.  The empanadas were not good compared to Argentinian restaurants I have been to. The other food (brisket, lomo saltado) was probably good, if you are a fan of Peruvian food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was okay.

    My husband and I came to Boleo to celebrate our 2nd year wedding anniversary. There was a nice ambiance with a tropical vibe. We were seated right away and there were not very many people there, but we waited at least 10 mins for the waitress to come and take our drink order. The food was great, with the exception of my husband's New York strip steak, which was overcooked. They brought him a new steak, that was still overcooked. They compted the steak and provided desert on the house, which was nice, although the chocolate soufflé was stale tasting. The service overall was not the greatest.

    The food was obviously not worth the price tag. One of our drinks tasted like BBQ sauce and were incredibly overpriced for the amount we got. To top it off we both got sick later that night from our meal. 1.5/10 stars. Not worth.

    One star for the ambiance and another for the DJ. I’m honestly surprised by how bad the service, food, and price were. For starters the server was dismissive and inattentive. There was a moment that the server brought a straw for someone and threw it in their drink as they were about to drink from it. The food came out at different times and was either under seasoned or way too salty. For the price of the food, I expected a better presentation and better taste. It did not do justice to Peruvian food.

    Boleo used to be popping, but now it's very empty and the quality of everything has fallen off. Food was cold, drinks were ehh at best. Sad to see the decline of this establishment.

    Ambience is good which is the nicest thing I can say about the restaurant. Server was inattentive with lots of attitude. I asked for a glass of water at the end of my meal which I did not receive. Greeter at the door was courteous though. I should have tipped her instead. Food was much worse than I expected. Ordered the brisket (which happened to be one of their more expensive mains) and it was really bad. Reminded me of my own cooking haha. Very underwhelming and combined with poor service made for a forgettable experience. Wine was ok but that came from a bottle so no credit due to the restaurant there. Place was noisy when I arrived which I soon realized was due to it being happy hour. Will I go here again when in Chicago - definitely not. Would I recommend - definitely not.

    Excellent food, service, and location. We took advantage of the happy hour small plates and drinks and everything was delicious. Wait staff very attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be back.

    Service was amazing, very attentive. Atmosphere was very pleasant and not too noisy. Definitely recommend and would like to come back and try more of their drinks. Alfajores were to die for! Love them, wanting more!

    The staff was pretty clueless- had to ask 3 times for a table that didn’t wobble excessively. Drinks and food were ok but not well presented and very basic, for the cost. Menu very limited.

    I’ve been here many times yet as of recent the entire menu has changed. While the drinks are delicious, the food is mediocre at best. I’m also sad that they did away with the happy hour as it was quite delicious and a fave of mine. Overall, it pains me that I can no longer recommend this place.

    Incredible! The waitress did a great job guiding us through the menu. The midnight lullaby drink is delicious. Highly recommend the ceviche, chicken empanadas, and beef stir fry.

    Great date spot with a beautiful ambiance. Staff and atmosphere is chill, laid back, and easy going. Menu was smaller but had great Peruvian options. Our drinks were amazing!! Will come again

    It's a cute lounge spot, but nothing special. It is missing a lot of details in terms of appearance as it looks like it was a cafeteria that got converted to a lounge. The menu is very small and unimpressive. Almost every single dish comes with a side of mayo as a sauce. I'm disappointed that we took a chance on trying this place.

    Old Fashion & Pork Belly Sliders were excellent. View was great. Hostess was very nice and explained the menu and drinks very well Music was very loud / not enjoyable. Rest of the food was mediocre. The Yucca 'crispy' fries were soggy. Chicken Skewers were over fried and left a bad after taste. Ceviche was way too tart

    My friend and I were pretty excited about this place, and has dressed up for a girls night out, but unfortunately we left disappointed. The cocktails and vibe were great, but the food was underwhelming and the service was awful. The server was friendly, but only came by a total of three times in the two and a half hours we were there. In that time my friend and I had one cocktail each, and didn’t even get a glass of water until an hour in (after asking a different person because we hadn’t seen our server). When she did come by the third time, we asked for five minutes to decide on a second round of cocktails, but never saw her again until we flagged her down for the check (45 minutes later and at that point we just wanted to leave). I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt - maybe she was the only server working, right?- but no, there were at least three other people serving the food, water, and drinks, and the restaurant was very empty for a Friday night. Pretty bummed overall. We wanted to try a few more of the cocktails, but didn’t want to spend our entire evening waiting. On the plus side, the food came out very quickly. We got the yucca fries and veggie empanadas. The fries were okay. Very garlicky (yum) but a little tough/dry, so i probably wouldn’t get those again. The veggie empanadas were good though!

    Overall great place for small plates and cocktails. Waiter missed entering one of our entrees and pricing honestly may have been consistent for Chicago but seem a tad high. Will certainly be back. Get the empanadas.

    What a beautiful setting for enjoying delicious food. Our waitress was efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. While I didn't like the yucca fries the sauce was great. Wh had the chicken skewers, the steak stir fry, and the chocolate dessert. All was delicious. I would recommend the Boleo for the great food and atmosphere.

    Great hidden gem in the beautiful Gray hotel building! Everything was a little pricey ($160 for 2 drinks & apps for 3), but they do have a good happy hour deal on apps. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed in the indoor/outdoor ambience

    It was a nice spot. The food wasn't bad at all. The service was not good. Firstly they poured us luke warm water that we noticed had been sitting out since we arrived. The appetizers came out and were good and hot. The next problem came with dinner. My order came out at least 20 - 30 minutes before my dates. My food became cold before she even got hers. Then her food came out and it was definitely less than room temperature. The taste wasn't bad but they need better table management. The server mentioned my date's food came out later because of how it was ordered and that would have been acceptable IF the food came out at least hot. Finally we had to ask for the bill twice and it still took them 20 minutes to get it to us. I pay in cash and there's quite a bit of change left over and the server decides to keep it without asking. We were still sitting there like where's the change. I have no issue tipping but allow me to tip. Don't just take my change. I personally will not be coming back but I say the restaurant is worth at least a try. Maybe my experience was just a off day for them.
