   We were hoping for better quality food. We found the Mediterranean fare to be so-so. We understand that meals in the mountains are a bit pricier, but that doesn’t mean that the food should be average.

   We had higher expectations based on reviews we read. The restaurant was very empty and everything was just “fine”. Not great, not bad.

   We love eating at Bold when we visit Breck. Delicious food and craft drinks. We have enjoyed everything we have had there!

   Three out of 4 of us liked our food. Spanakopita and burrata were a hit as appetizers. The lemon chicken and rice soup lacked rice and was very thick and overly lemony. The salmon in the chopped salad was super salty/barely edible. That would all be ok except that our server was very dismissive. There were multiple instances where the server was inattentive and at other points, we felt like the smile on the server’s face belied the fact that the server did not want to be there. Also of note, suggested gratuity is 20-25% on top of the 3% they add for the kitchen.

   We were really disappointed in our experience at BoLD. Despite reserving a table weeks ago, the hostess sat us by the bathroom in the way back. There were several open tables for our party size and I had to ask several times for the hostess to move us. Even more frustrating was those tables remained empty throughout the entire meal so there was always an opportunity to move our table. The waitress was great and the food was good. Overpriced significantly but what you get for mountain food.
