This was not the first time eating at BOKA but just like every other experience, the cocktails were yummy, the food delicious, and the service impeccable. I surely hope to come back once the risk of Covid19 infection is flattened out and people are allowed to come back. My heart goes out to the entire restaurant community, I wil support as best I can

My husband took me for my birthday, and it was a glorious experience.
In Chicago primarily to have dinner at Alinea but had night before that also gave us the opportunity to find a dining experience so chose Boka which turned out to be next door to Alinea. Food was inventive, well presented (without the theatrics of its neighbor) and great tasting. Service was exemplary. Ambiance was lively--at times a bit loud but not distractingly so. Deserves its star and can stand proudly as an equal to its more famous neighbor.
A fantastic experience! A very attentive waiting staff made us feel like royalty and were willing to walk us through the 8 course adventure we endeavored on. The meal presentations are edible artwork!

We all had an amazing tasting experience. Each course had the perfect marriage of savory flavors. Our service was impeccable on every level. Elliot and Brie you went beyond our expectations. Although the choices are limited, the food is always excellent at Boka. Service is friendly and efficient. It's a wonderful place for dinner before Steppenwolf (use their valet parking).

Did the tasting menu and loved it! Eight dishes to try including two small desserts and some of the dishes are not on the menu. Loved the venison and the shimi aji crudo (mackerel with a light apple and horseradish sauce). Tried the 2018 Ridge grenache blanc and loved it. It is similar to a chardonnay but a little richer in taste. The waiter was very helpful and had a true passion for the restaurant and its food. Also, we were celebrating a birthday and they personalized the menu, which was a nice touch! My boyfriend kept commenting how delicious and sophisticated the food was.

So glad to have dined at Boka during this short trip to Chicago. . . Every course, flawless. . . Knowledgeable staff. . . Made it that much better.
The food was incredible. Everything was perfectly balanced. We had the ricotta dumplings, octopus, duck for two, and hazelnut dessert. I couldn’t think of one thing I’d want differently from the meal.
The weakest part of the night was service, it was a little slow in regards to clearing the table. However, the service was still very good. I would love to go back and bring other friends/ family who would also appreciate the quality experience. Overall wonderful

Boka is always outstanding, and we treasure our dinners there. This time was special because our granddaughter, inspired by her older brother's having already done it three times, asked us to bring her and her boyfriend to dinner at our favorite restaurant as her Christmas present. Although it took two months to settle on a date, it was well worth the wait! Her date is also a foodie, and both of them were just blown away by the meal. And the pasta with truffles appetizer might just be my favorite dish at Boka ever, and that's saying something.
Just a wonderful dinner day night. Always is great at Boka but this was our best yet. Splendid preparations of octopus and sous vide short rib fir my wife; beef tartare and artic char for me. Starting with a delicious amuse bouche. Ended with creative pumpkin mousse dessert. Recommended wine pairings were perfect. No reason to go next door !
It was one the best dining experience my boyfriend and I had in Chicago! Looking forward to coming back soon!

We dined with you 02/28/2020. We were also celebrating a birthday! We were greeted warmly and welcomed with open arms. The food and cocktails were fantastic. The playfulness of tasting your way through each component of the dishes to then discover the harmonious bite of each dish was rewarding and groundbreaking. We could not help but smile when we experienced the food that was presented to us.
What was lackluster was the service and environment. The music was very quiet, almost unnecessary to have it on at all at the volume it was at, which created somewhat of an awkward feel. All we could hear was the political conversation from the table next to us, which is the last thing you want to hear when you are trying to enjoy an evening. As for the service, it just felt off - from the blazers, to the impersonal approach to service, not to mention we had to get someone to grab our waitress for us multiple times - it just wasn't attentive. Our waitress didn't even give us her name.
But at the very least the food was great, so well done chefs! As for service, may be take a note from your sister restaurant Girl and the Goat. They've really got the perfect balance of elevated food/beverage and casual environment/service that Boka claims it set out to accomplish.

A great evening celebrating a special birthday. The food was outstanding as expected! The service was exceptional with each person helping us feel like they were are partners in creating a special dinner. Congruatulations on all levels in industry and consumer awards- well deserved.
Perfect food for a winter evening. The Ricotta dumplings were warm, smooth and full of flavor. Duck breast with the confit were a great paring of flavors.
Boka is really an excellent restaurant. We enjoyed a good time there.
I expected better in Food but service was more than excellent. We enjoyed definitely.
Omg. This place was insanely good. My wife and I were there to celebrate our anniversary. We had the octopus appetizer. It was insane.
I had the venison and she had the duck and we were raving. After dinner we spent literally 30 min telling each other how amazing they were.
We have been to other places at/near this price point, like Girl and the Goat and BLVD, but this place beats them both.
One of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. The food is always creative and delicous. The service is always impectible.
