Amazing flavors, stunning presentations, fantastic wines and a wonderful experience overall. We so appreciated the personal touches to make our dinner celebration memorable!
Very enjoyable evening with unique preparations and spot on wine pairings.
We celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary and the experience was incredible! Fully recommended
The food preparation was outstanding. We will be back
We were at Boka to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was outstanding. From the time we checked in until the time we left, we were treated wonderfully. Everyone that came to our table wished us a Happy Anniversary. Food was beyond wonderful. The Spanish octopus was light and delicious. We shared the duck for work. Also, wonderfully prepared. Chocolate and Hazelnut desserts and a fine Cabernet rounded out our celebration.
We have loved Boka in the past and we will be back, soon!
Delicious food and impeccable service!
Our server was wonderful and knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. The food and wine were absolutely delicious!
Had a great time at Boka. The service staff was amazing all around. The food was delicious. So glad to have gone there.
Absolutely spectacular meal and service to match! Could not have been a more delightful evening. Tasting menu was worth every penny as each dish was perfectly presented, served and enjoyed. Been a while since we have been there and will not wait as long to go back!
Awesome place, I would definitely recommend it and will come back soon!
Boka slaps! Seriously though, it’s really good. Great bourbon selection, exceptional service, best duck I’ve ever had. It’s a must if you’re dining in Chicago!
The food was delicious. The place is beautiful. The service is above and beyond. Highly recommend.
beyond my expectations
My wife and I had a lovey experience dining at Boka!
The best food I have ever had
Enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing. Perhaps the most balanced and thoughtful tasting menu I’ve ever enjoyed. Service was absolutely outstanding point, and the relaxed atmosphere is inviting and warm. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and service!
Experience was perfect! Great environment, amazing knowledgeable staff. The tasting and pairing option was exactly what we were looking to experience while in Chicago.
Wait staff extremely knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations for wine and cuisine. Ambience is perfect, doors were open and air circulating. A great place for a quiet or special dinner. Hadn't been there in several years and it was as good or better than I remembered. Tables well placed for COVID distancing. Wait staff attentive without being obtrusive. We all enjoyed him, as well as the meal.
Would go again 100%, staff was attentive but not overbearing.
Above and beyond my expectations. I was expecting great service and food as the Boka company never disappoints but this was far beyond what we could imagine. We went for our 5 year anniversary and our server, Kevin, made it so special. We will definitely be returning when we’re back in Chicago.
The food and service was really excellent! Couldn’t have asked for a better evening and experience. We decided to try the tasting menu and it was out of this world!
Boka is consistently exceptional. Whenever we have a special occasion to celebrate, Boka is first on our list to make a reservation. Couldn’t recommend more.
The tasting menu was worth every dollar - top notch food and experience coupled with amazing service!
Everything about this place is amazing.
Fabulous as always! Excellent service, delicious food and wonderful ambiance.
the food was so spectacular that i can’t even find the words to describe it! the service and presentation were unrivaled and the evening altogether was wonderful. at the time of booking my reservation, there was only space at the bar. i was unsure what kind of dining experience i would have seated at the bar, but make no mistake, there were no short comings. attention to detail was ever so present and they exceeded my already high expectations. i would definitely eat there again shall i find myself in chicago.
Espectacular! Comida increíble de altísima calidad, gran atención, lugar discreto pero me encantó la decoración. Festeje mi cumpleaños, no podría haber salido mas satisfecha.
Good tasting menu. Lamb dish was amazing.
For a special occasion, the tasting menu was exquisite with wine that was perfectly paired to each course. We will definitely be back to try the a la carte menu.
The staff at Boka made my son’s birthday extra special. Thank you!
This was my first time dining at Boka and based on all of their excellent reviews on Yelp and Opentable, I was very excited. This restaurant was also recommended to me by a colleague. My partner and I decided to do the tasting menu, but at the end of the night we were very disappointed. The pace of the meal was a little too slow (3.5 hours for 8 courses) and the dishes were very boring. The duck course was delicious, but nothing exceptionally special, and is the only dish I remember from the tasting menu. (We dined there two days ago). We also ordered the octopus a la carte and that dish was much better than anything on the tasting menu. After dinner I met up with some friends and warned them not to try the tasting menu from here, not worth the money and time. I honestly really want to give Boka another chance, but I don’t think I can convince my partner to come back. Very surprised this is a Michelin star restaurant.
Alone at the bar, I enjoyed the eight courses with wine pairing, all quite good to delightful.
Great food. Great service. Great value (compared to NYC)
We are on the rear patio. Service and food were very nice.
Great food, excellent service and very intimate. Would definitely go again.
We went to celebrate an early wedding anniversary at Boka and were extremely disappointed with everything. The restaurant is quite dark and dingy. After we got there, I did request outside patio which they were not able to accommodate. The server was also very tepid, not very engaged. I guess the expectation was for us to do the tasting menu but looking at the ambiance, I was not sure if I wanted to try that out. So we ordered a la carte. The food was mediocre at best. We had the Kampachi, beef tartare and octopus for our appetizers. Beef tartare did not taste fresh and octopus tasted like nothing. The kampachi was the only dish that was flavorful. I had the dry aged duck for my main course and my husband had roasted chicken along with a bottle of wine. Pretty decent but again nothing to write home about. We had a dessert which was forgettable. The most astounding aspect of the experience was that people in hospitality industry have struggled so much during the last year and when you have customers who are willing to drop in a pretty penny for your restaurant, you really need to focus on delivering a very high quality experience (Michelin star or not). If we learnt anything from last year it is that we could eat and do pretty much everything at home. So if people come to your restaurant to dine or celebrate, please make sure you are doing the best you can for them to have a memorable experience. I would not recommend this place at all, neither for celebration nor for general dining. There are lots of great options in a city like Chicago. Skip this one!
Absolutely amazing as always. Wonderful service, beautiful food, cannot think of one bad thing to say.
Absolutely stunning food. Highly recommend everything we had: the ricotta ravioli, the kampachi crudo, the dry aged duck, and the roast blueberry for dessert. Our waiter was so friendly, too! My mother mentioned that I’m starting college in Chicago, so he asked the chef to write “Good luck” on the dessert, completely unprompted.
Fantastic food. The 8 course tasting menu is an amazing culinary journey and the wine pairing complimented the dishes very well. Creative appetizers and wonderful fish (Tasmanian trout), dry-aged duck and lamb courses with very thoughtful sides, sauces and garnishes, not to mention the unique and delicious deserts (the sesame ice cream was incredible). Service was wonderful as well (with some beautiful touches for a birthday) and always willing to add interesting insights for the different courses and wines. Only critique point would be the temperature inside: we personally felt like the air conditioning was slightly unpleasant, but it was a warm evening outside. Overall, the dinner at Boka was a beautiful experience!
