Boca Oyster Bar
A truly fabulous culinary delight this evening. We ordered clams casinos and honestly we would’ve been satisfied with one as the taste was out of this world. We were delighted with a bunch and as you could see we didn’t take time to take photographs they were so good. And who could stop?
The linguine with muscles were out of sight! The sauce was so authentic with such a delicious taste I wish the bowl was endless.
And dessert? That brownie delight was off the charts, the Apple crisp is very good as well. If they split that in half it would be enough of a portion. A lot of food and very delicious.
Kudos to the chef’s! Truly one of the higher quality food restaurants in the area that I was able to try thanks to open table. I lived around here my whole entire life and I would’ve never gone down that area if it wasn’t for open table. A true culinary delight and I will be back
The food, service and entertainment were all amazing! Cannot wait to return!
Had a bit of a hard time finding the restaurant at first but once we got inside we were very impressed. It is beautiful, clean and welcoming. The food and staff were excellent. We see that there is a huge outdoor bar patio area that we are excited to come back to in the warmer weather.
The venue was outstanding and seating good. Service very good. Our waitress Jacquelyn did a good job and we felt relaxed and definitely not rushed. Menu was very comprehensive and varied.
I had the Diver Scallops over Lomé in noodles. My wife had the Lobster Ravioli which she enjoyed and took some home.
Were with two couples and they really enjoyed the meals.
Came for the entertainment as well. Steve D’Agostino was excellent and we were able to dance and enjoy the music. Looking forward to seeing more entertainment and using outdoor space available.
Food presentation was good..food quality and taste marginal to poor.. very overpriced for value.
Service was prompt, food well prepared and drinks were well balanced
Food is good although menu is weirdly app heavy with limited entree choices. We got only apps and it was clear that the waitress wasn’t used to people doing that. She was great and totally rolled with it and was attentive all night.
First time there service was excellent and food was good! Will try again!
Very nice trendy style restaurant right on the Harbor. Menu has good selection of choices. Would definitely dine there again especially in nice weather when doors to the patio are open
This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicious and the ambience was perfect. Me and my fiancé had a wonderful time.
Worst time I’ve ever had at a restaurant
It was my first visit there and I was extremely disappointed with the food. The food lacked in flavor and salt! The description on the menu vs the actual flavors on the food don't match up. And that was the problem with everything we ordered. It's too pricey for it not to take delicious!
This was our second visit which was several months after our first visit. Note: Our first visit was right after they opened and we were NOT impressed, but we thought we would give them a try after being open awhile. Unfortunately, things are not much better. Food was "ok", not awful but definitely not worth raving about given the cost and location. Service was still slow even though the place was quite empty. Do not plan going back anytime soon.
This was my fourth trip to Boca. Food was excellent as always.
Food was just fair and way too overpriced.
The food was mediocre at best with the exception of the slab bacon. That was really good. Everything was way over priced. The quality was just not there. Most dishes were flavorless. The service was good. And the staff was attentive.
Great location and food. Kitchen was backed up a bit.
Prompt service and our meals were delicious.
I love this place for the location and have been here several times but they seem to be struggling. It could be that Boca does better when outdoor seating is available in the summer time. A friend and I had dinner here on New Years Eve and did not take advantage of the Prix Fix that was available. We ordered Clams casino and a charcuterie board. The clams casino was not very good. The clams were raw under the cooked bacon and tasted especially fishy. The charcuterie board was good. It had a nice selection of meats and cheese and we really enjoyed that. I was concerned that if I ordered fish, it might not be fresh so I had the half chicken dinner with mash potatoes. The potatoes had a weird taste to them which was a bummer but the chicken was crispy and delish. My friend had the Ahi tuna tacos and her only complaint was that she would have liked a little more tuna in the taco.
Sadly, there didn’t seem to be many people there for New Years and we stayed until 11:30 or so. The band was fun and we enjoyed the service we received sitting at the bar.
I will be back because I’ve had better experiences here for lunch and the location is pretty and convenient. it could be that Boca is in an off season slump and I hope things pick up for them.
Lovely! Great views and easy to get to. Plenty of parking, nice menu. It was a wonderful evening.
The apps were great. Service was too but the entrees were sub par. Would go back and just have apps and a drink at the bar.
private party two tables down 6-8 drunk girls celebrating something- very very loud, yelling and spilling drinks-----glad when they left---almost empty dining room, no private room available???
My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Boca. I had the roasted chicken with Brussels sprouts. The chicken was very tender and flavorful and the breast meat was moist which is rarely the case at most restaurants. My husband had the oysters and the Dover sole special both of which he enjoyed very much. Our waiter, Dino, was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the view of the marina from our table and know that it will be a very busy place during the summer months. We look forward to our next visit!
Party of 6 and 6 different entrees were all delicious. We were seated in the dining room. The restaurant is beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our first visit here, but not our last. Our waiter Dino was very attentive and we were able to relax and talk without being rushed.
Food was awful
We look forward to returning. Excellent food and even better view. So happy to see this in Bridgeport.
What a phenomenal evening. We were so excited to finally try Boca Oyster Bar. It was the perfect place to take our out of town friends for an evening of incredibly fresh and delicious seafood. From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great ambience and service. Live music duo which was a Plesant surprise. And the Views!!!! I can go on about the water views forever. Can’t wait to go back and try one of everything.
Everything on point - food, service, decor, location. Even easy free parking. Portions were huge, and delicious. Seafood dishes were excellent. Will definitely be back!
High ceiling and walls of window made for a cool temperature
Very very good food .good atmosphere great location
Exceptional great restaurant for the area. Fresh seafood and portions were huge. Little pricey but worth every penny
Seldom do I write a review. As a Fairfield resident, I have long awaited the Steel Point Bridgeport project
and though the location, interior design and views are wonderful to call it an Oyster Bar is an aberration. Oysters were delivered with no waiter explanation of the placement. The looks of some appeared to be nearly empty. There were four or more uneatable. They were basically disgusting and I would guessed shucked by an unexperienced hand. Though credited for the ones sent back, the memory remains unpalatable. The price tag for a lackluster dinner for four; a dozen oysters, 4 small plates, 3 mains and 6 drinks was ridiculous. Now I understand why there were several birthday celebrations. This is a restaurant not to frequent as it will turn your stomach and your budget.
8:00pm Monday evening: 3-Tables with Customers (so noise level was terrific-very quiet!)
Cement floors, no curtains, no table clothes (assume noisy when/or if/ crowded. Ambiance - zero. Couldn’t even see the harbor as it was dark.
Attentive and enthusiastic waitstaff - but never trained! Not offered bread. No knowledge of cutlery. No comments about Anniversary.
Wife had the last lobster (sold out) ...served in oily cast iron skillet but with no nut cracker, pick or fork. Cold
Guest 1 had spinach salad...drenched in dressing (sent back for something less souped) also 2-3 inch stems still on the spinach leaves.
Guest 2 had turkey club. Dry. No taste. Liked the fries.
I had the cioppino. Also served without spoon...but, then again, I didn’t need one for the half-teaspoon of broth in the bowl. Also cold and flavorless. Try the cioppino at Totos in Fairfield for comparison.
The restaurant needs to determine what it wants to be: 1. A waterfront dive. Or 2. An elegant establishment (such as Prime in Stamford). I don’t think $60.00 steaks and chicken wings can live on the same menu. Also, if you can’t see the water at night, the interior needs to be something better than an airport waiting room. Even inexpensive sheer curtains would help make it less “institutional.”
I guess I was expecting something like Prime (Stamford or Huntington) because a destination restaurant will be the only venue that works in this ideal location!
My friend and I had dinner here during the week. The atmosphere is lacking. Service is okay but not excellent or as attentive as you' would expect. The food was middle of the road. We both had filets of the same size and temperature. One came out about twice the size of the other. Really strange they would have served that at the same table. We both order baked potatoes which both were undercooked. We watch serval of the hostess and servers gather at one table on the patio. One hostess stood at this table our entire visit and never left once. There are lots of choices for dining out and I'd say this is one didn't take away anything to prompt me to come a second time.
The food was very delicious but also very pricey. The staff was extremely accommodating and provided us a dessert plate that congratulated us on our anniversary even though we didn't ask for it. It made our dining experience that much better.
Service was absolutely terrible. We had a 7:30 reservation and we were seated right away. it went downhill from there. We didn't see a waitress for t least 10 minutes to take our drink order. She finally came and took the order, but the drinks didn't come for another 15-20 minutes. We put our food order in then, and I believe we waited for an hour for our food. The waitress told us later that someone in the kitchen had quit in the middle of service, but she paid no attention to us whatsoever while we waited. I had to flag her down to get her to come over. While we waited, 3 or 4 tables of people got up and left because they were tired of waiting. We had a view right to the kitchen and there was no food coming out of there. And, once we finally got the food, it was mediocre. Such a disappointment. It's a beautiful venue but my guess it will close very soon.
