50th birthday for just close family and friends. Excellent choice, will definitely visit when in town again!
Our party really enjoyed the experience. The food was prepared perfectly and our waiter was great. He made the evening. We really liked his no BS attitude when helping trying to decide our options. We had no problem getting exactly what we wanted. Good job Dan and thank you!
The bartender shook the Manhattans which you never do (martinis, yes, but not Manhattans). Had to send back and mentioned this upon leaving. Make sure your bartenders are trained-up.
The decor and ambience are great; dark woods and American flags. The food was excellent. We started with the chopped tomatoes and mozzarella, which was really great. I had the crab cakes, which were delicious, and my husband had the NY Strip Steak, which he really enjoyed. The large carrot they served with the meal was very unusual and delicious. We were too full for dessert, but I'm sure their desserts are wonderful.
Good place to eat. Food was tasty. A bit pricey but good night overall
We've had better steaks there at Bobs. Maybe the tomohawk wasn't the best decision.
I eat at some of the finest restaurants all over Austin. Nothing special about this place. It's way overpriced and the quality just isn't there. Eddie V's is far superior to this steakhouse
Great night out with friends. D was our waiter. He could not have done a better job. We could tell he really enjoyed working there. He made our night.
Incredible birthday experience. This was our second visit (1st was prior to Covid) and it not only lived up to our memory but exceeded it!
Great steaks. Reasonable sides and salads. Attentive servers.
Rooftop dining and drinks was a hit! Can’t wait to come back
We had a great experience here, celebrating our anniversary. The food was delicious and our server, Dan was fantastic.
Great service all around and the meals were excellent
Does anyone ever have anything bad to say about Bob’s?? It’s kind of hard to find something bad
It’s always a good time with great service.
It was okay, service my steak was cooked more of a well than a medium. It had to be reprepared. The service was slower than expected. I will stick to Barton Creek. The sever was nice and the manager was pleasant. Had to wait another 10 mins outside for the valet when I went outside. So it was an okay experience.
Great food and great time
Food and service was great. Cavazos was an excellent server.
First trip to Austin TX and was lucky to find Bob's. Great steakhouse with fine salmon too. The 16 oz filet is so thick that it is difficult to cook to medium rare properly, but the staff there nailed it. When I asked for it to be bacon wrapped, which was not an option on the menu, our waiter Chris didn't even bat an eye. And they used a piece of Bob's Bacon which is practically a ham steak all by itself! Chris was fantastic and took good care of us, even pointing us to their rooftop cigar bar where we could enjoy a wonderful cigar along with our after dinner port and dessert. Wonderful experience and shout out to Chris, our most excellent waiter!
I spent around $200, including tip and no alcohol. My wife and I shared the bone-in rib-eye cooked medium rare for our 25th wedding anniversary. They split the steak and sides in the kitchen for us. The steak came to the table rare and we had it cooked a bit more. This resulted in my steak being dried out. The meat was also stringy and difficult to cut; not what I would expect for around $50. The asparagus had virtually no char at all on it. We had carrot cake for dessert and it was dry and bland. We loved the glazed carrots. But, you could get a much tastier meal at Perry's or Eddie V's for around the same price. We really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, but the Bob's waiter talking to an investor (about his private business) a few tables over from us was quite a distraction. He should take his business meetings off premises next time. The food was not worth the money.
We always have a great experience at Bob's, and Monday was no exception. the food was perfectly prepared, and our waiter, Hitch, was attentive, knowledgeable and fun. We will be back soon!
Service was great, thanks to our waiter Kevin. The manager was also nice and attentive as well as the lead bartender who provider great bar service. The food was amazing and so was the presentation. I also appreciated the valet who was working alone and overtime to get everyone’s cars out on time.
Awesome. Awesome Awesome!
Sadly, not a good experience. In these times, it’s a big deal to go out for a meal. When you choose to go out, to hopefully support businesses where you live, to spend a good deal of money ( prices here way too high for value) you have an expectation of a great time. We had 6 people and were squashed into a table that was way too small... when we inquired about moving-...open booth nearby, much bigger, better location ( still social distance acceptable) we were told no ( it remained empty) ...the table we were left at was near the kitchen entrance and the waiter station... food was less then memorable... why we were all give giant carrots on every plate is still a head scratcher...a very expensive lesson:( the only other thing I will say is that the waiters tried their best...
My husband wanted to come here for his birthday and since I have not been to Bob's in over 10 years, remembering that their food was excellent, I acquiesced and I am sorry to say, but I would rather go to Eddie V's or Trulucks the next time he wants to visit a steakhouse.
Bobs is still a traditional steakhouse that lacks umph and has no originality when it comes to craft cocktails or desserts, however, they do have a slamming wine list that is highly impressive. With the addition of fried lobster to the appetizers, which was truly delicious, I do not think Bob's has changed it's menu in 20 years. While that really is not such a bad thing, if your menu has not changed in so many years, then every single dish should come out perfect as they should have the preparation down to a science. After drooling over pics of the crab cakes on Yelp, I was excited and then let down when I was presented with small-medium burned crab cakes that seemed to have more filling than meat. The honey mustard was a little too sweet as was the glaze that covered my garlic mashed potatoes. Their signature carrot was good and my husband absolutely loved his steak and loaded baked potato.
From the hostess to our waiter Clarence, they were very nice and accommodating. I surprised my husband with a gift and it was delivered promptly as planned. While I did not complain to Clarence regarding my dinner, he did overhear me tell my husband that I did not enjoy my meal and to raise my spirits some, Clarence offered us a free dessert which was a very kind gesture from such an impeccable employee.
We will not be going back. We felt rushed and the food was not as expected.
Great time and great food!
Was very disappointed with our server Christopher. He seemed very put off. Made us feel uncomfortable. Not friendly. Thank the Lord we decided to arrive early to have a drink upstairs, otherwise this would have been an even bigger disappointment. We brought our friends out to try Bob’s and had told them how great it was, too bad the poor customer service outshined our meal and experience. Would like to say Ismael upstairs was fabulous. Wish we had had him for our dinner.
Always an awesome experience!
So our first time. As beef producers we have high expectations on beef quality. The meal was good, disappointed in the lobster side. Set ice could not have been better, staff is on top of all of it. In this COVID times stress is max and they are terrific. I would like to see a dry age steak option but I’m coming back here on a regular basis. Best steak house in Austin. Way better than Fleming’s, as they have lost the quality of their product. Sullivan’s perhaps, but this place rocks. Wife and I are n our 60’s
Amazing experience! Our waitstaff was truly a breathe of fresh air!
Fantastic meal, as always. Excellent experience once again.
Great food, great service. Downtown area has gone to hell with the Democrat mayors who control this city.
My ribeye was ok. Just ok. It was prepared properly - - medium rare, but was not a great cut.
the drinks were great.
The corn creme brûlée was awesome.
The wedge salad was awesome.
Our waiter, D, was very professional and a great representative of your restaurant.
Our food was excellent and so was the staff.
Bob’s has great customer service. The food is delicious and taste like none other.
Best service we have had in a long time! Ask for big Dan!!
Another great dinner at Bob’s. We sat at the bar to celebrate a birthday. Service was excellent, wine recommendation was excellent. And the food is always on point
Made a special visit despite quarantine and felt totally safe. Tables were spaced far apart. Staff wore masks. GM Sal was very personable and rolled out the red carpet, as did server Hitch. Best steak I’ve ever had in Austin, and I don’t say that lightly. Prime Ribeye was amazing. Splurge and get the Mac n Cheese, too!
Dan the server was awesome!!!
