Sushi was excellent and really well presented. My son had the steak on the stone which he really enjoyed and my husband had the chicken katsu with garlic noodles. All were really tasty. It was my daughters birthday and they had a free ice cream desert for her which was a nice touch :) My only complaint was the delay with the sushi coming out and the order in which our dishes came out. My husbands entree came out before our appetizers had arrived and the sushi took a very long time to come out. My son and my husband had finished their entrees by the time it came out!

Now named Blue Sakana, the food is very bit a good as we remembered it under its prior name. We were enjoying a birthday in our party, and they made "the birthday girl" feel extra special. We will definitely be back!

We came for dinner to celebrate a friend’s Birthday & had an awesome dining experience. Shinee made some great dinner recommendation. She’s so friendly and was always checking our table if we needed anything else. The sushi platter presentation was outstanding & delicious. Appreciate their efforts for the nice birthday special complimentary desserts treat. Overall excellent service & definitively will be back.

I’ve been a patron of Blue Gingko for many years now. The name recently changed to Blue Sakana. Last night I was there with three other people and noticed right away when the sushi was delivered something very different. What we ordered looked very sloppily prepared and the taste also compromised. I was actually very surprised because in the past, it was presented in a very artful way. This needs to improved to earn my future business as a regular customer.

I love this place. The food is super fresh and the service is top notch. The Miso Soup is so good. My favorite is Uni and it's always been fresh every time I've ordered it. My new favorite Japanese Restaurant and that's saying a lot because I'm super picky. My go to used to be Amakara; however this is even better.

Food was great, but everything came at once. Given the prices, very frustrating. Felt very rushed. Noise was weird. One of the wait staff was walking around whistling a One Republic song all night. Very off putting, not reflective of the price of the place. Disappointing experience overall despite the great food. Prices have easily gone up 10-20% across the board in the past month.

Excellent happy hour program: menu variety, drink options and comfortable outdoor seating. Servers were attentive, courteous and efficient. Pork Belly skewers, riblets in sweet sauce, sushi rolls and karaage were delicious and came in generous portions. Food selections paired nicely with cold Asahi beer and enjoyed during a warm Danville afternoon.

Haven’t been here for a couple of years and they seem to not only have maintained but upped their game. Looks like new ownership but, though the previous guys were very good, these are great. Presentation is superb, all tastes were fantastic, especially the salmon melt and Danville rolls. Nice cocktail selection though I opted for a sake.

The food was amazing! Presented beautifully, so fresh and a lot of it. The service was impeccable. Extremely Professional, attentive , helpful accommodating and cheerful. It was my birthday and they had a cute sign on the table wishing me a happy birthday and brought out an amazing chocolate mousse Crème brûlée with a candle. The staff sang happy birthdays. Wonderful night!!! Thank you Blue Ginkgo

Unfortunately an "older" gift card that I had for the restaurant was not showing a balance in their system but I know for a fact that I never used the balance. It was a bit embarrassing. They are looking into it so hopefully it will result in a good outcome. Gift card had no expiration date.

Blue Gingko in Blackhawk plaza is one of my go-to’s. If the weather is nice, grab a seat outside. On this visit we sat at the outside bar. The service was fast, drinks are great and the ambiance is like no other in the East Bay.
