The food was outstanding and the service, especially the waiter, was even better. Another great experience at Blue Hill Tavern.
Atmosphere was perfect. Waiter was very friendly. Food was exceptional. Will definitely go again.
Excellent food, a rushed but efficient waiter, and a super-high noise level — but it also was Saturday, the last day of Restaurant Week. Octopus appetizer was incredible.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing.
Fabulous experience! The winter vegetable pot pie was amazing!!
Delicious food and tasty beverages!
Food was ok.. liked our waiter and atmosphere.
Everything was great.
many people at our table ordered hamburgers, but with slightly different variations. Everyone's order arrived exactly as deisted...this does not always happen.
We were celebrating our friends birthday and the server John made sure we had an amazing experience.
I would recommend BHT because I love the food and the ambiance; however, the waiter was pretty lackluster. I raved about this place to my friends for so long. They accompanied me for the very first time. Unfortunately, the service from our waiter made our experience less desirable. His dull & semi-dismissive demeanor was truly a buzz kill to everyone’s built up excitement.
NYE at a Blue Hill they do a very good job in the prefix menu -the NY Strip in coffee was outstanding
We went for New Year’s Eve and found out when we got there it was a $55 pre-fixe menu. This would make sense if it was a very busy night, but there were dozens of empty tables when we arrived at 7:30. We were not allowed to order appetizers a la carte, we could only choose one appetizer and one entree. As a vegetarian, I was only able to pick from a few options and was still charged the same $55 for my two mushroom courses as the people in my party who ordered steak, lobster, etc. I was starving after the meal because none of the vegetarian options included any protein. I asked if I could order soup or salad as well, and was told that I could only do that if I ordered a second $55 pre-fixe meal. Even though the restaurant was not at all crowded (and everyone was limited to two courses & we were told we had to place our order all at the same time) we rarely saw our server and our waters went unfilled for the majority of our meal. If this restaurant was so concerned with a busy night that they limit all guests to a $55 per person 2 course pre-fixe menu, I would expect them to also have enough qualified servers to make the dining experience worth it.
BHT is our "go-to" spot for birthdays, anniversaries and whenever we want a good dinner with good service. My wife's birthday was no different. BHT planned a four-course prix fixe menu for five of us with optional wine pairing, and once again, they delivered across the board.
We had the truffled popcorn, mussels, salad, Mahi-Mahi, and Beef Wellington. Each course was spaced out nicely and everyone enjoyed each dish.
Dan was our server as he is on most of our visits, and he always does a great job.
Food was good particularly the hamburger. Prices are reasonable. Server John was excellent. Worried about the future as 1/2 tables on a Friday night were empty and there is no longer valet service.
We travel 40 minutes each way to go to BlueHill. That’s how much we like it. You will not be disappointed.
Great food. Very good service. We were a large group and the experience was great.
We had our annual holiday lunch here, The décor of the room was classy and its a nice view on the top floor where we were located. Our waiter was professional, courteous and informative about item on the menu, he was always in reach we did not have to look fro him for anything we needed. Each course was served in a timely manner from the appetizers through dessert.
Always always great. It’s on my top 5 list, and my favorite place to take out-of-towners.
The food was excellent love the house chop salad and the crispy cauliflower butternut squash soup was a bit to sweet but it was tasty. Our sever was excellent.
We waited quite a bit for our table despite being on time, but that can happen sometimes on a busy night. It was Saturday and I believe that they were short-staffed. I was disappointed at their being out of the dish that I ordered, but again, these things happen. The food we did eat was excellent and the service was friendly. That being said, it should be remembered that food is merely excrement in disguise and everyone should calm down about it.
This was my second time dining at this restaurant and it was my second great experience. The service was outstanding. Jake was personable and super attentive. The meal, once again, was also fantastic. We had the fried pickles, scallops & octopus apps were all solid choices. Entrees ordered were filet, bucatini pasta, mushroom wellington & smoked duck breast. I tried them all and all were decent, but the smoked duck breast was off the hook good. If you like smoked meats, this will not disappoint. Thanks, Jake, for the recommendation. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely recommend Blue Hill Tavern to anyone looking to try something new that's a little off the beaten path. I'll be back.
Good meal and good service. All of our food was nicely done and served hot. Overall good dinner out.
It’s a great place all around, and Leonard was on top of everything, as usual!
The wait staff was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. And, of course, the food was fantastic. Well worth the visit and the money spent.
This was my third visit to Blue Hill Tavern and I have been most satisfied on each occasion. My wife and I took another couple who had not been there previously and they raved about it as well. From the moment we walked in we were treated warmly and the staff was attentive and allowed us a relaxing and most enjoyable dining experience.
The service was rushed. We were not yet finished with your starters when our meals came out and we felt compelled to hurry up eating. The server himself looked and acted as if he wanted us to get in and out quickly. He failed to bring the sugar boat when serving us our tea and, before bringing the hot water, simply laid the tea bags on a the bare dining table.
The food itself was very good, some of the nicest turkey I'd ever had. Presentation was also nice but it seemed that the staff had their minds elsewhere. That it was Thanksgiving might have been an explanation but it didn't excuse the behavior of the server and another girl who delivered things to our table.
Good was okay. My son lover his New York strip and oysters. The seafood bisque was ok and she with salmon. Server John really wasn't engaging. I think when I go back I will request a different server.
The Blue Hill has been a favorite for many years. The food is consistently great and creative.
It was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every item I purchased. I would definitely go back.
It was nice to go out after an 8 hrs of work retreat to just chill out and relax .
Service is always impeccable, food is fantastic, drinks are delightful. This is truly a diamond in the rough!
Great ambiance and delicious food!
Overall, a good evening; however, it was a very cold night and when the door opened there was a draft back into the dining room. Most of the food was good, but one person ordered a salad and the greens were not very fresh.
Loved the atmosphere! Food was good. Cheese plate was awesome! Friend pickles were a little soggy. We ordered the steak medium well. However, it definitely was served medium, but still tasty. Would have probably enjoyed the steak more if it were cooked a little longer. The dessert was very decadent...we got the candy bar! I would come back to try other menu items.
Always a positive experience there
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Would recommend for any date night or special event. Bronzino and calamari salad were delicious
Everything was great! Food was delicious, our server was fast and pleasant. I enjoyed myself and will definitely be returning.
Great service and will be back again. Looking forward to it getting warm again to be outside.
Got kicked out at 10pm on a Saturday night which we found somewhat odd.
