Great as always. Menu is delicious. Service is phenomenal. Dan was fantastic. Gave everything we needed but not too ever present.
As I have posted before, I LOVE this place. Took a friend to dinner there AGAIN. (I should be an ambassador for the promos I do .
We both had tonight's seafood special. Five nice sized shrimp stuffed with delicate crabmeat and broiled. Plated beautifully standing in a delicious cream sauce surrounding a mound of Old Bay/garlic mashed potatoes, topped with bias cut grilled asparagus that were perfect!
An awesome meal with impeccable service.
The food was amazing. Out waitress was attentive and friendly! Highly recommend to others!
It was OK - went for my husbands birthday; noted this during reservation - was never acknowledged by restaurant. details - like knives on the table when you order steak were missed. dinner was not especially busy, service was fair/good - but not over the top. food was warm, well seasoned - we ordered the special steak for 2 - and the size of portion was impressive. we did enjoy the mashed potato - fluffy! the kitchen seemed slow - some others had food well before we did. i ordered one drink, i was never asked if i wanted another. the restaurant came highly rated and a gift was given to us - but with the pace of kitchen and attention to detail missing - its not a great special occasion restaurant - they didn't even acknowledge the occasion.
The food here is amazing. Restaurants in this area tend to be a little pricey, so we thought the value was good considering the options nearby. About $100 for 2 people for drinks, appetizers, and a main dish for each. Get the fried pickles they are incredible!!!
My girlfriend and I went here for our 3 year anniversary on a Saturday night around 7 pm. The service was fantastic, atmosphere very formal and clean, service was amazing, and food was outstanding. Our waitress was very friendly, congratulated us on our anniversary, and was very on tap of everything. Food didn't take long at all. Was asked by my girlfriend if we can back here again next year for anniversary.
Every thing was fine Gin drink a little on the high side.Great waitress.
As always had a wonderful time at BHT. Three diners had the bronzino which was top notch. I had the duck breast which was very good but only lukewarm at serving. Service was excellent in the upstairs side dining room. Noise level on a Saturday night was high but not unexpected
Had a Groupon for this restaurant so decided to have a date night with the hubby. Never been here before but will definitely go back. The restaurant is very nice and romantic. Our waiter was great and helpful with food choices. The food was amazing! We ordered the grilled octopus and seared diver scallops, OMG, both these dishes were mouth watering delicious. I ordered the Bronzino dish and it was amazing. First time ever trying it and I am glad I did. My husband ordered the Seafood Buccattini and said it was delicious with a little bit of spice.
If you are ever done that way in Baltimore I highly recommend trying this restaurant.
Thank you Dan for a great experience. The food, the service everything was great.
Will seen you again soon..
Great find ,highly recommended Blue Hill Tavern!!
The free valet parking was very organized and well run. The service was excellent, would definitely come again.
The ambience was really nice however, the food was just ok. I had the butternut squash soup and I thought Panera bread version was better. The salmon was ok, but could have been seasoned a litte more. The best was the desert ! My boyfriend loved the apple tart and I enjoyed the candy bar!
Frequent visitor and as usual we were not disappointed for Valentine's day! Highly recommend.
We went to Blue Hill for Valentine’s Day. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived and our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine, and it may seem like a picky complaint, but the glasses we were given were very clunky and cheap. Looking around, others seemed to have nice glasses, so perhaps they were just running low on their normal wine glasses. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a bummer when you invest in a whole bottle.
The options for the Valentine’s Day menu all looked really good. We had bacon wrapped scallops for a starter, which were great. As an entree, I had the salmon with asparagus and risotto which was also excellent and was a nice-sized serving. My date got the duck gnocchi which was really disappointing. No complaints about the taste, but the serving size was very small for an entree (there were 9 gnocchi pieces in sauce with a little bit of duck meat). So that dish was a really bad value....to the point that we thought they may have made a mistake.
At the end of the day, we were okay with the meal as a whole, and would go back, but probably not for Valentine’s Day or another special event.
Blue Hill Tavern food is delicious. Service is great. Staff is friendly.
Great food and excellent service!
Nice ambiance and excellent service on a Sunday evening. Octopus is a must on the appetizer list, though I should have ordered 2 for the four of us. The crab dip was just OK, but its winter, so I know I'm not getting anything local.
The Wagyu burger was excellent, so was the roasted chicken and Bronzino. The surf and turf, just OK. Save that for a bonafide steak house.
The bread pudding for dessert was the bomb. Would and will definitely return!
Both of our dinner entrees were very good. My husband had the bronzino with couscous and asparagus, and I had the salmon with mushroom risotto and asparagus. The sauce surrounding my salmon, asparagus and risotto was a little too sweet for my taste. I would have appreciated an acidic element on the plate to balance the richness of the risotto. But overall I still enjoyed the dish, which was a generous portion, leaving no room for dessert. Service and the sophisticated ambiance were great. I'll look forward to returning.
Blue Hill was amazing at putting together the surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend this past weekend. The hostess was great keeping the surprise going! From saying “party of two” to taking us up the stairs in a way that didn’t give away the table was amazing! I couldn’t have asked for a better surprise experience. Also the entrees were great as well! I tried the Bronzino, salmon and mushroom Wellington and they were all so good! The only thing I was disappointed with way the size of the appetizers. We ordered 3 for the table (Duck confit gnocchi, grilled octopus, and fried cauliflower) and we even asked our server if he thought that would be enough to share and he said yes but the serving size of every app was ridiculously small. Maybe 3 would’ve been good for just my boyfriend and I, but definitely not our 10 other friends. But overall Blue Hill Tavern exceeded my expectations!!
The food was outstanding and the service, especially the waiter, was even better. Another great experience at Blue Hill Tavern.
Atmosphere was perfect. Waiter was very friendly. Food was exceptional. Will definitely go again.
Excellent food, a rushed but efficient waiter, and a super-high noise level — but it also was Saturday, the last day of Restaurant Week. Octopus appetizer was incredible.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was amazing.
Fabulous experience! The winter vegetable pot pie was amazing!!
Delicious food and tasty beverages!
Food was ok.. liked our waiter and atmosphere.
Everything was great.
many people at our table ordered hamburgers, but with slightly different variations. Everyone's order arrived exactly as deisted...this does not always happen.
We were celebrating our friends birthday and the server John made sure we had an amazing experience.
I would recommend BHT because I love the food and the ambiance; however, the waiter was pretty lackluster. I raved about this place to my friends for so long. They accompanied me for the very first time. Unfortunately, the service from our waiter made our experience less desirable. His dull & semi-dismissive demeanor was truly a buzz kill to everyone’s built up excitement.
NYE at a Blue Hill they do a very good job in the prefix menu -the NY Strip in coffee was outstanding
We went for New Year’s Eve and found out when we got there it was a $55 pre-fixe menu. This would make sense if it was a very busy night, but there were dozens of empty tables when we arrived at 7:30. We were not allowed to order appetizers a la carte, we could only choose one appetizer and one entree. As a vegetarian, I was only able to pick from a few options and was still charged the same $55 for my two mushroom courses as the people in my party who ordered steak, lobster, etc. I was starving after the meal because none of the vegetarian options included any protein. I asked if I could order soup or salad as well, and was told that I could only do that if I ordered a second $55 pre-fixe meal. Even though the restaurant was not at all crowded (and everyone was limited to two courses & we were told we had to place our order all at the same time) we rarely saw our server and our waters went unfilled for the majority of our meal. If this restaurant was so concerned with a busy night that they limit all guests to a $55 per person 2 course pre-fixe menu, I would expect them to also have enough qualified servers to make the dining experience worth it.
BHT is our "go-to" spot for birthdays, anniversaries and whenever we want a good dinner with good service. My wife's birthday was no different. BHT planned a four-course prix fixe menu for five of us with optional wine pairing, and once again, they delivered across the board.
We had the truffled popcorn, mussels, salad, Mahi-Mahi, and Beef Wellington. Each course was spaced out nicely and everyone enjoyed each dish.
Dan was our server as he is on most of our visits, and he always does a great job.
Food was good particularly the hamburger. Prices are reasonable. Server John was excellent. Worried about the future as 1/2 tables on a Friday night were empty and there is no longer valet service.
We travel 40 minutes each way to go to BlueHill. That’s how much we like it. You will not be disappointed.
Great food. Very good service. We were a large group and the experience was great.
We had our annual holiday lunch here, The décor of the room was classy and its a nice view on the top floor where we were located. Our waiter was professional, courteous and informative about item on the menu, he was always in reach we did not have to look fro him for anything we needed. Each course was served in a timely manner from the appetizers through dessert.
Always always great. It’s on my top 5 list, and my favorite place to take out-of-towners.
The food was excellent love the house chop salad and the crispy cauliflower butternut squash soup was a bit to sweet but it was tasty. Our sever was excellent.
