Was very good. Food was perfectly cooked and service great too. Just disappointed with the dessert selection, as there were only 2 and both were chocolate options.

The Blue Crab was an awesome dining experience. Very attentive and pleasant waitress that made our dining experience very enjoyable. The food was fresh and the steak and lobster cooked to perfection. We will be back. We highly recommend The Blue Crab.

Sisters 24 wedding anniversary
We gave Blue Crab 4 stars, reason being, one of our party ordered King Crab at $70 a plate and, although accompanied by appropriate utensils, she could not crack those darned legs nor would scissors cut through. Servers were very gracious in assisting but she’d had king crab before so knew how to do it. Extracting the meat was like treasure hunting. Kitchen eventually cut it up for her!! Three other meals superb ... salmon burger with sashimi and beautiful salad; shellfish pasta; and fish and chips. Did ask for the lighting to be increased so we could see the menus. Would definitely return though and the evening view over the water was divine as usual. We dined comfortably in the Lounge but will also look forward to trying the Dining Room next time.
Came for our 1st wedding anniversary and got the surf and turf platter for two, and it did not disappoint. Prawns, scallops, 6 oz steak and King Crab! To die for! Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was great! The view of the marina and the city is pretty spectacular too. I'd highly recommend.

The cocktail table was way to small for our meal, to the point one of our flame warmed melted butter dishes fell off the table. A fire could have started. We shared the crab/ steak meal at $160. Steak was overdone, crab was mediocre. Compared to a previous experience we were very disappointed and will probably not return.

It was an anniversary/birthday celebration so we started off with a bottle of Thornhill Guerztiminer wine. Perfect!
We shared the local mussels as an appetizer and they we absolutely delicious. The au jus from it was amazing and it came with some garlic bread perfect for dipping.
For a main, we both opted for the Dungeness Crab. It was cooked to perfection and came with drawn butter, roasted fingerling potatoes and great veggies.
For ice cream I had the molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and hubby had the orange creme brulee. Both were superb!

By far our favourite restaurant in Victoria! Never disappoints! We have the platter for two every time we visit.
It was our 35th wedding anniversary dinner and it was excellent. We had a voucher for a 3 course dinner for 2. Carly, our waitress, was so kind and friendly. She went over and above to ensure we received the best service with a smile on her face. My crab dinner was marvellous and my husband's beef tenderloin cooked to perfection. My only regret is there were no fresh oysters. Other than that, Blue Crab deserves a 10!
Sat at table for 2 by the window. We were celebrating our Anniversary. The calamari was delicious as well as the surf and turf for 2. Seafood was cooked to perfection and the steak was amazing. Only thing was it took awhile to get service and after that we felt a bit rushed (main meal came too soon after our appetizer, even after we said we wanted to wait a bit), other than that, the view and food was fantastic.
Sad to say: it would be better for this usually-excellent restaurant to be closed until they get their act together.
We'd booked via Open Table for 10 am (and I had a separate booking for six the following Sunday at 11:30 am). When I arrived 15 minutes early, I was told we had no reservation -- and when I showed the confirmation on my phone, they told us the kitchen closed at 10am. So, rather than enjoy the ambiance, I was urgently trying to have my guest arrive earlier. I also learned there was NO reservation for Sunday, despite (again) phone confirmation -- and the man was surprisingly NOT interested in this Blue Crab vs Open Table reservation double-screw up.
We did manage to order "something the kitchen could make", albeit reluctantly on their part. Mentioning that we'd each driven from outside of downtown Victoria (my trip was 40 minutes to get there) for a 10 AM reservation fell on uninterested ears. Instead, they very firmly emphasized The Fact that (a) Blue Crab was really NOT open and (b) the ONLY seating was supposed to be in the bar seating (I have no idea why, there's easily 10 feet distance between each table).
Blue Crab is one of my most favorite restaurants in our Greater Victoria area, and I have happily supported them for two decades at least -- always with excellent service in the past.
Whatever is happening within Blue Crab right now, they'd be better to stay closed until they are able to return to Excellence in Customer Service. Negative PR is very hard to rectify.

Server was rude. Paid $400 for our dinners which wasn’t a lot for the $. Crab was terrible and very dried out. Server refused to sit us by the window even though that’s why we originally picked that place, the 2 window tables were empty the whole 2hrs we stayed for dinner. Will not be going back. For $75 for my plate I got one piece of broccoli 2 baby potatoes and a 3ounce cold steak and a few crab legs that were not cooked properly. Not impressed.
The chef adapted the squid appie to fit my GF diet and it was spectacular. Sooo delicious!

After some digging, we discovered a technical issue which is preventing our new menus from displaying to guests, even though they are displaying to us in our Open Table system. We ordered the Bacon/Scallop appy which was delicious and our main the Surf & Turf platter with 6 ounce tenderloin, we enjoyed the Surf and Turf immensely, but in retrospect we could have skipped the appetizer as the S&T came with scallops. The steak was extremely tender and perfectly done, this is a very rich, filling entree.
For dessert I had the Maple Creme Brulee and my partner the Berry Crumble with ice cream, the creme brulee was wonderfully smooth, but the Crumble wasn't strong on flavour and was also light on ice cream.
For us this is definitely a special occasion meal.
