Great variety, beautiful views, excellent service!
Vegan takeover was awesome! I hope they do more. The general menu is also very good, and the outdoor dining space is lovely.
We are Vegan and we went there for a Vegan event they were having. We tried 5 dishes and 2 desserts. It was amazing. We also enjoyed the cocktails and the draft IPA. The manager (Austin) was attentive and he made sure everything was perfect. We will definitely return.
4th visit. Always good food and service. The atmosphere is unique. Highly recommend you go.
Went for a special occasion and it was such a good choice! Affordable, delicious, and cool. We sat outside and the view was incredible. Shoutout to Bree for great service!
I love the patio at Blue Atlas! Food and service has always been good.
Incredible place. We had a wonderful experience dining there to celebrate a birthday. The food, service and ambiance were perfect. Highly recommend. This is a richmond jewel.
Passing an exam
Megan and all the staff are outstanding. We’ve probably been 80 times and the food and service are always *chefs kiss. Just tried the papardelle special ...went home....slapped my mom...slapped my aunt...slapped 3 strangers for no reason hot DAMN that dish was good. But that’s the problem...everything on the menu is too delicious. You guys can’t keep making food and drinks this delish and then expect me to go home? Heyull no. I just ordered a small bed and flatscreen TV on Amazon and I’ll be officially moving onto their patio in early July. Tell your friends and their friends. This place is something special.
Blue Atlas was a lovely, tasty, fun experience. We will return often. If you live on the Southside or West End, it's easy to get there and well worth it. The flavors are like no other in Richmond. Elegant but casual and affordable too.
The tender, juicy lamb meatballs, their housemade hummus, roasted eggplant - each bite was a succulent, delicious surprise. Beautiful vista as well. Go soon!
We shared many different plates and every single one was amazing, loved the Vietnamese pancakes and the fried chicken sliders were delicious! Great cocktails, and great vibe, a little noisy but not bad… watching the sunset on the patio is a great way to get a completely different perspective of downtown Richmond.
Our server Brianna went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated inside when it started to rain. She also tended to all our special allergy requests, exhibited an extensive wine knowledge, and offered samples when we wanted to try something. The food was delicious and prepared quickly, but Brianna made the experience all the more memorable!
Great first experience at Blue Atlas! Love the vibe! Delicious small plates were shared between myself and a friend! Also got dessert which was on point! Thank you! Will be back!
Excellent service, delicious and eclectic menu. Good view out back.
Great tasty food. Very flavorful.
We grabbed reservations late on a Saturday afternoon. We basically chose the Blue Atlas because they had a few reservations available, so we didn't have any expectations when we chose it. We were slightly concerned about the location, but were thrilled to get to visit an area in Richmond that doesn't often get much attention. They have done a beautiful job repurposing the school building. The patio and grassy area around the patio are lovely and well used...there are seating options like outdoor tables and a firepit. We say people on blankets too....not sure if they were being served by the restaurant. There is also a small very small market, with a few to go items, alcoholic beverages and basics (probably for the new apt complex next door). It is all well done. The food is a sampling from around the world...friendly choices....we had the Bao Buns, sliders, Mezza platter, and the "loaded" tots. It was all very good in its own way. We were happy with everything that came out. They timed the small plates well, so the food kept coming. We did send the tots back because they were cold, but in the end I think it is just a poorly designed dish although tasty since it is almost impossible to keep the tots hot when you pile them with lots of cold items like avocado, tomatoes etc. We ordered two of their specialty cocktails including the bloody mary...quite good!
I did ask the server what something was on the mezzah platter in which she replied I don't know and I haven't seen them before. She also didn't follow up with the chef. We weren't checked on very often after the food was served, but she was polite and efficient when she did. Overall it was a lovely evening...they deserve a 4.5 if I could give it.
Best view in the city! The small plates are great. The beer list could be more extensive.
Went with a group of five, after work. We sat out on the lawn, had Adirondack chairs with wide arm rests for holding drinks and plates. Perfect evening. Got the chicken sliders, someone else got potato and leek perogies and another order was for Thai pancake, I think?.
Our server, Megan, was smooth and efficient. She offered drink refills quickly and was well versed in the food choices. She has been working there since opening, in November 2020. Can you imagine that opening?! So glad they continue to be present in Fulton Hill. It was my second time and I brought co-workers with me who live in the area, but had not tried it.
The setting of a beautiful old brick school, on a hill, overlooking the cityscape of Mayo and Rocket’s Landing is a perfect way to save architecture of the past. Perfect weather, perfect Friday night. After a year of working in health care, we were happy eat and drink in the outdoors!
This was an awesome spot! The service, the food, the views... all perfect. Our server, Megan, was knowledgeable about the menu, made suggestions on cocktails&small plates, and was super attentive to our dietary restrictions! It was a little quieter than I would've expected, but may have just been the crowd that night. The bao buns, chicken sliders, and the sausage were our favorites! A great spot for pictures and taking in the RVA sunset! Can't wait to go back here
We had a wonderful experience at the Blue Atlas. The food was different and tasty. The wait for our food was short. The house wine was delicious. The staff was attentive, helpful and accommodating. We started outside. When the sun went down and the weather turned cold, the staff allowed us to move inside for coffee and dessert. We had a group of five, some of whom arrived late. The staff didn't blink an eye. This is a new, unique restaurant in Fulton Hill in a 100 year old, restored school house. The view is terrific, the food delicious and the staff outstanding.
Wonderful Mother’s Day brunch with great service and delicious food!
Beautifully restored space, good view, decently tasty food. Portion sizes were inconsistent and weirdly priced, ingredients were kind of uneven. Had two cocktails and both were bad - "lavender lemonade" was missing the lavender and the lemon, bloody mary was missing salt. Service was sadly abominable. Waitress didn't know basic things about the menu and seemed unfamiliar with food in general, then got one of three orders wrong. The server who was tasked with brining out the plates was so awkward that he knocked one of our drinks over with a plate while trying to place it. Thankfully we caught it in mid-air to prevent utter disaster. The entire time we felt like maybe it was everyone's first day and we should give them a break. The place has the design and the chef to be great, but they need a real bartender and professional waitstaff.
Absolutely perfect Mother‘a Day brunch at Blue Atlas. Service was great, and the place is relaxing and beautiful.
Very unique location in the Fulton area. Ambiance is spectacular inside and the outdoor dining and lawn area is beautiful. Our observation was, unlike most small plate restaurants, the portions are larger and the food arrives in waves over a period of time. The menu is truly eclectic, specializing in Mediterranean, European and Middle Eastern dishes and flavors. The service was terrific and the bar/cocktail choices were spot on. We raved about Blue Atlas to our adult kids the following day and plan to return very soon!
Small Plates. Great atmosphere. Great views. Great wine/beer selection. We will be coming back again for sure.
Our first time at Blue Atlas was a great experience. They had a special Cinco de Mayo menu and everything was excellent. I was impressed by the cocktails and craft beers as well. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful ambiance, delicious food and drinks! I love that you can try so many items!
This place was awesome, food was delicious, service was great, everyone was on top of it when a storm rolled in and the help get us seated inside and continue our evening!
This restaurant is in an awesome spot with amazing views. Our service was slow, but we don't fault the restaurant. we know it is hard to find enough workers right now. Food was positively delicious. we had two people with us who can't eat gluten and they were disappointed (and surprised) that a restaurant that embraces a lot of vegetarian entrees did not have many options. all in all what we had was good but the menu was limited. the cocktails were fantastic.
The food was great.. but service left a lot to be desired.
Different and delicious! My friend and I really enjoyed our dinner on the patio overlooking the sunset, on a cool April evening. The service was stellar- friendly and attentive. We tried about 5 different dishes and were impressed with how the chefs could master everything from a Vietnamese crepe to Georgian flatbread! This is a unique destination restaurant in an otherwise residential section of Fulton Hill. Highly recommend!
I don't have the vocabulary to throw enough superlatives at this gem. They've got a varied and dynamic menu welcoming to the adventurous and picky alike. The cocktails are sublime. Stop reading, go eat!
As always, we enjoyed everything about our evening at Blue Atlas. The food, service and ambiance are always wonderful!
This place was so delicious and the service was excellent! The patio had a beautiful view
Fun evening out with a great “small plate” style sharing menu... pork sliders, curried shrimp, and mussels were all fabulous! Did I mention the mussels, yep we had to have seconds of those! We sat inside but the outdoor patio looks inviting as well. Worth the trek beyond Church Hill.
This was our second time here and we'll definitely be back. Everything we've tried on the menu is delicious and we tried almost everything. Cocktails are very good. The view is great and service always very attentive.
Great food, atmosphere and service! Can't wait to go back!
Excellent food and loved the shareable small plates.
Only problem was the pacing. Our server said we could order all plates we wanted and she would pace them, but then we had 6 plates come out within 15-20 minutes and felt suuuuuper rushed. Would have been better to order two plates, wait for them to come out and then place the next two orders with the server (I.e. pace ourselves)
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Everything start to finish was amazing. Great food, cocktails, and service!
