It was a birthday. They acknowledged it, but the waiter should have been told before we were seated. It would have been a nice surprise.
The staff were amazing and the food was delectable. Prices are high but that is expected from a restaurant of that caliber. The noise level was fine considering it was in a very large open area. The entire area is stunning.
Good food, great service. A bit on the expensive side. Tell them if you are celebrating, they take that very seriously.
Great service fabulous food and great people watching the elite in DC
Had this reservation for two months, really looking forward to a great meal. We had an average meal at best. I was dining with my son and we both ordered steaks, his medium well and mine medium. When steaks arrived it was instantly apparent they had not been cooked as ordered but reversed. I was really disappointed that a $60 steak on a $200 bill would be not cooked to order, more concerning is that this should have been caught before sent out to table. Service by staff was fantastic, kitchen disappointed this evening.
Exceptional service and exceptional food!!
Food and service was wonderful. Overall, had a great time and would definitely include on any visit to DC. The bacon and seafood appetizers were great. My wife enjoyed the lamb. I do not ordinarily order chicken (unless I am at KFC, a guilty pleasure) but I was intrigued by the way it was cooked and it was great. My only criticism is the huge markup on some fairly mediocre wines. This may be a way to keep the food prices reasonable but it still seems excessive to see markups of 800% compared to the average retail price of some vintages. Otherwise strongly recommended.
I took my dad here for Father's Day. We had a lovely meal and the service was exceptional. I found that the prices were more reflective of the excellent service than the food, though the food itself was quite good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Really good restaurant in a top notch and beautiful environment
The service at BLM Prime was excellent! Our table was six adults and a toddler. All of us had something different. The caesar salad with crab cakes was one of the best I had ever had. However, the entree, supposedly a 45-day dry aged bone-in ribeye steak was a disappointment. The steak was done perfectly (medium), cut in strips from the bone. But, I would not have graded this a Prime. It was tough and had a lot of gristle, not to mention a lack of flavor. One of the other diners had a standard New York cut and he said it was tender and flavorful. My wife had salmon which was done perfectly. Her only complaint (not really a complaint) was it was a large filet which she shared with others in our party. The prices are not out of line with other Washington, DC fine restaurants.
The wait staff were all excellent! Made the day very special as we were celebrating Father's Day.
Amazing as always they make sure you leave satisfied and ready for your next visit.
I definitely will come back. The hotel is just beautiful and every seat has an excellent view of all its beauty. A delicious shrimp cocktail followed by a delicious lobster salad. The service was excellent from the valet to the entrance to the waiter. I think this is a great place to have an early afternoon dinner, brunch or late night dinner. After the museums, after a show, etc... Very romantic.
The service was absolutely horrible. We were very embarrassed in front of our four guests. This restaurant need to have better training of their staff, especially when people are paying over $2000 for a dining experience.
Best Bacon I have ever had. Just looked at the picture I took with my IPhone and wanted to lick the picture.
Guter freundlicher Service. Originelle Installation in einem renovierten Postgebäude. Lebendige Atmosphäre. Ausgezeichnete Küche.
It was amazing! Always amazing at BLT. The food, service so top notch!!!!
This was probably one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The Trump Hotel is elegant and beautiful. The personnel at the restaurant were excellent. They explained the food and answered all our questions. Besides being very professional, they also had a personality which made our dinner even more enjoyable.
Pre White House dinner was fabulous! Everything from the service to the food were exceptional. The A-5 tenderloin was absolutely superb! 5 stars!!
Great ambiance. Wasn't loud which I appreciate at a nice dinner. My group was able to comfortable talk with one another. Food was great. Service was great as well.
Our experience was above and beyond. Our meal and the service was exceptional from start to finish.
We have never been disappointed, BLT and the team there always make every dining experience better than the next. We could not be more appreciative and impressed by the level of service and quality of the food. Thank you to Jim Murphy who always goes above and beyond
I went to BLT Prime to treat my mom and grandmother to a celebration of life. I ordered a variety of items that everyone enjoyed for the most part ranging from the candied bacon, oysters rockefeller, and a salad which was big enough to split. Followed up with the crabcake and the biggest steak on the menu. To top things off the new watermelon mocktail was delicious, however the new creamsicle mocktail wasn't as sweet as I was expecting. The service was great, and my family was happy and impressed with how they were treated and the ambiance of the restaurant environment. They also enjoyed the dessert with sparklers as I believe it was their first time ever experiencing that type of gesture.
Valet, was on the pricey side coming in at $35 dollars, but there service was as good to be expected plus we are parking in DC so just a warning to those expecting it to be a lower price.
Fantastic service and great food.
Overall experience was wonderful. The bacon app was one of the best appetizers I have ever tried. Sides and service were great as was the atmosphere. The only knock was the dry aged NY strip was less than impressive. I've had many $20 dollar steaks that were much better. Maybe I just got the wrong item off the menu.
We took our kids ( 10&11) while we were in dc visiting. Kids loved it and adults appreciated the atmosphere and excellent dining experience. The food was great and service couldn’t be beat
We took our daughter out to celebrate her High School graduation. It was absolutely fantastic. The service was great. The food was wonderful. The whole evening was very enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxing. Will definitely be back, and recommend this this restaurant to friends!
The food is outstanding is I could give the food 6 stars I would!
From start to finish everything Was fantastic. The service impeccable, the food so tasty, the popovers they bring you and the small order from the chef were fantastic. We cannot wait to get back there as soon as we can as well as tell friends they should go too.
My new “must do” recommendation for anyone visiting DC!
Excellent. One of the best food and experiences. Very pricy, but worth it!
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at BLT Prime. The waiter recommended ravioli for a person who had told him she was gluten free. Servers kept pouring still water in our sparkling. Nobody came by ever to ask if we wanted more bottles of Pellegrino (we did) or additional iced coffees (we also did). Odd, as there were only three other tables with customers.
The eggs were hard and overcooked- really appreciated the manager removed one of the charges, but after the poor service, we left disappointed. Will not be back again for Sunday brunch.
An outstanding place to visit and dine. So beautiful, food excellent, service could not be better. Every detail of your experience is wonderful. Thank you for always providing your best at BLT Prime by David Burke. The Trump International Hotel is an amazing venue!!
The waiter and attention to detail was fantastic. The bacon appetizer was just incredible.
Good service , nice restaurant but below average quality steak
We had fun.. love the food an service
Fabulous service - "as professional as it gets," but backed with an overly-noisy setting and, on this occasion, a weak kitchen.
I was VERY MUCH looking forward to dinner at this establishment, and the service (from greeting and throughout the evening) was second-to-none. However, there were two fatal flaws that resulted in my severe disappointment. The first is that the lobby music of the hotel (the restaurant is open to the lobby) in which this restaurant is located was BLARING and intrusive. What could they be thinking? To me, it sounded more like a bad band tuning up -- and at full volume. Before I left the restaurant, I had a headache from the "noise" masquerading as music.
The second problem was that my steak was overcooked. I'm CONFIDENT that it was not the fault of the server (who offered to return it, but I didn't want him to get in a quarrel with the kitchen). I ordered it "blue," and I reiterated the menu description, which included, among other things, "cold red center" (it might have even said "very red" -- but I know it said "cold"). I emphasized "NOT black & blue," but BLUE. He got it, and I'm confident that he communicated it that way to the kitchen. Even if he DIDN'T, the kitchen should have honored the menu description of the degree of doneness. When it arrived, it was slightly charred on the outside (grrr....), but it was a thick piece of beef. I cut into the middle, and it was red. "Great," I thought, "It's close enough to blue." However, the center wasn't cold. Indeed, far from it. It wasn't as it was described on the menu, and it wasn't what I wanted. As stated above, however, at that point I really wasn't interested in having a battle with the kitchen through the service intermediary, so I pointed it out to the server, indicated that I DIDN'T want another one (again, it was "acceptable," but NOT blue), and I didn't want a string of apologies from anyone (I told this to the waiter... "Look, this is not what is described." Then let it go.
