Great service, excellent wine. The food was good, however nothing to rave about, it simply whelmed.
I had the fish soup and fishcake - both were delicious. So good to be out with friends, and despite the hailstorm, we kept warm and dry.
Staff made a valiant effort to make our experience a good one, but the weather was against us and the outside area wasn’t equipped well enough to cope with the cold and rain. Food was good, and wine selection perfectly adequate for lunch.
Will be good to get back inside!
A classic. Old school French cuisine - bistro fodder, great wine. Fish soup a perennial favourite
Despite the gale blowing on a blustery Tuesday, we enjoyed ourlunch outside on the cobbles of the Bleeding Heart Bistro. The staff were doing very well in spite of the weather and the place was simply heaving with diners desperate for a good meal. And this is what they got - excellent food served in a very enjoyable and buzzy ambience. We will return when we can go back indoors. For further details see TripAdvisor review.
The service was excellent and although most of the food was really nice I wouldn't say it was particularly French cuisine. Some additions I felt were only for the benefit of British guests, which I think is a shame. Some highlights were the fish cake and chocolate mousse.
An absolute gem of a place just off Hatton garden. The chicken special on Sunday was 5 stars.
Overall a great experience only let down by a really poor cheese board.
Lovely atmosphere and great food. Will definitely be back!
Perfect outdoor eating spot!
A bit of normality I felt I’d landed somewhere pre-covid.
Food wine and service fabulous- will be back.
A lovely post lockdown lunch for a group of six. Food was nice and lovely atmosphere in a quiet part of Farringdon
Went for a celebratory birthday lunch with family members, and we all enjoyed everything about our visit.
We really enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. At no time did we feel rushed and any time we needed anything there was always someone on hand to assist.
Slowly becoming one of my favourite restaurants in London. Lovely part of London, superb service and consistently good food which is such good value for money.....
The food and atmosphere were very nice but it was overly expensive for what we got.
Business Meeting at 2pm and although it took a while for the waiter to get to us, to take our order (15mins) the food and follow up service was superb. We were due to leave the table at 4pm, but they allowed us to stay on for another hour to finish our lunch meeting. Top venue, amazing food and good wine list.
Great location for outdoor dining and much-awaited catch up with friends. Service great and all diners just pleased to be out and friendly.
A great afternoon out despite the rain. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the atmosphere together with good food and wine
good value set menu and delicious food
Excellent service and warm enough with heaters
Nice restaurant, patio heaters so very comfortable experience, would recommend.
Great staff and food and wine as usual- there is construction work nearby but very quiet in the evening
Notified restaurant this meal for our silver wedding anniversary in advance . Arrived 15 minutes early along with several other couples all of whom where taken through to wait whilst a very rude waitress told us to go away and come back at the right time . I got quite upset and a manager overruled her . We then had to wait longer for everything, ask repeatedly for champagne we’d ordered as well as coffees at the end of the meal . Been coming to restaurant/bistro and wine bar for years , food still amazing but service quite poor on what was a special occasion
Great service from almost exclusively French team. So lovely to be out again on a well-heated terrace.
We had a lovely family reunion at the Bleeding Heart - the perfect place to get together after being part during lockdown. The food and wine were good and the service and surroundings fantastic.
Thank you for sharing your kind words with us. It means the world to us and to our entire team! We look forward to serving you again soon!
Starters not great, and only meat and veg for main. Deserts were good, cheese expensive as an extra. Wine list starts at 29
The Sunday sundae is very good. Surprisingly complex of flavours.
The pork confit would recommend sharper knives for cutting. Was not easy eating or maybe better to have it precut so it’s easier to carve. Still delicious overall but it would make it easier to savour.
Thanks for a lovely night, the food was excellent and being outside wasn’t a problem
Very well organised and Covid safe. Staff were absolutely lovely and service was very quick, but not rushed. The menu has something for everyone. The confit of belly pork was one of the best I have had. Portions are pretty small but delicious.
Thank you so much for your kind words . Our front of house team and Chefs were delighted you enjoy your visit, our service and food. Do let us know if you are planning to return and we will ensure that the manager is aware. We look forward to see you soon, Regards, Marta
Lovely terrace, great food, super service. The rib-eye was cooked to utter perfection
According to OpenTable I have made 240 restaurant bookings through the App. I have made dozens of those at the Bleeding Heart. I was delighted to be returning with a group to celebrate 3 recent birthdays. Things started off well enough but after having main courses (and having consumed 3 bottles of champagne between 5) and about 90 minutes into the meal we were brought the dessert menus and told we had ten minutes left and that we didn’t have time for dessert (quite why they brought the dessert menus to our table given this statement is beyond me). We were a bit surprised given other tables had arrived before us and were not being asked to settle up for the next group. We also pointed out that there were several empty tables and that surely in another 20 or 25 minutes we could finish our meal and leave. The front of house staff would have none of this and we were told there was no time. I asked for a bill with the service charge removed (I have done this two or three times only in 20 years) and the bill arrived with the service charge on. I repeated my request and finally the bill was presented without service charge. I have normally enjoyed meals at the Bleeding Heart immensely. I will not be returning after this episode. It is a shame that the restaurant is showing no support to its long-standing customers - who at this rate will be gone once the rush for post-lockdown meals returns to normal.
I am so sorry that your experience on the Bistro Terrace on 24th April was not as you had hoped it would be . If you could be so kind as to contact us on email@example.com we would like to understand how we failed to meet your expectations and how we might be able to meet them should you pay us a further visit. We look forward to hearing from you. Reservation manager
This place does French very well. It feels and sounds and tastes French. How surprising then that the bread, that bastion of french cuisine, was so disappointing. Dry as the desert with a miniscule butter portion. It's the little things that mean alot and in this case it was a real let down. I suspected something was a foot when it took so long to get the bread to table and I further suspect it was reheated from last night.. Apart from this bravo on the whole.
Fabulous food, can really recommend the cotes de boeuf, fantastic flavour, abd the best chips ever, (as an indifferent chip eater). Heated terrace to my surprise topped it off.
Starters and desserts also very good. Heartily recommend!
Our dinning experience was the worst that we have ever experienced. The food was cold, undesirable and tasteless. It was expensive for the poor quality of food. The cheese and biscuits are advertised to be served with fresh bead, however don't be fooled they actually come with a digestive biscuit. The bread is at a cost of an extra £3.50. The pork belly was full of fat and the little meat on it was like leather.
Dear Mrs S, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear you had such a frustrating experience and our food didn't meet your expectation, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to my attention. We would like to hear from you, please send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org ,so we can reach out to you at a time convenient for you.
Food was good but much more expensive than in the past. One set menu and one special. Not a great choice. Service was good and outside tables were well spaced with heaters. Good atmosphere. Hope the full menus returns soon.
A lovely courtyard venue with tables set well apart, and covid restrictions well adhered to. The food is excellent with quite a varied menu given the circumstances, and the service is as good as it always has been, despite the current restrictions. A very good experience.
Birthday celebration was lovely. The only downside was the construction work going on right next to the outside dining site.
All very good except for noise from building works but not your fault!
The food was amazing, the service was really good. Lost stars as we had to wait 30mins before being seated.
Good and wide enough menu choice and wine list. Food was very good. Attentive service.
Bleeding Heart offers good quality bistro food with friendly service and a relaxed ambience. Being in a small courtyard you are protected from cold winds and traffic noise.
