Blade 1936 is an upscale casual modern Italian restaurant which took over the historic Blade Tribune and News Building in Oceanside. Blade 1936 features authentic Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza. Our menu features fresh pastas, local seafood, steaks and sinful desserts. We have Vegan and Gluten Free menus.

Featuring two private dining rooms, Blade 1936 is the perfect venue for your special occasions. Our private wine room seats up to 60 guests and the Chef table seats up to 10. Our outdoor patio is perfect for dining al fresco with your pet.

Food was mediocre, not quite what I was expecting for a 5 star rated place. The pasta was just too tough and nothing stood out. Place was pretty loud too so it's not the best for a date.

Food was really good. Friend is a vegan and ordered pasta and was impressed with the meal. Ordered a bottle as well. Prices were decent. Great value.

This is a top Oceanside restaurant and we love to dine there. This visit we took our friends and they couldn’t say enough about it!

Great Italian food. We ordered the pappardelle with mushrooms in cream sauce. It was delicious. We also shared a Margherita pizza. It had a nice thin crust and was made in their authentic Italian pizza oven. I highly recommend this place.

Date night special was fantastic! Salmon and chicken entrees were top notch. Calamari appetizer lightly breaded, very fresh. Mango sorbet not to be missed. Including bottle of wine for under $100.

Our friends told us about Blade 1936. Last night we decided to go for dinner my husband and I.. I was in the restaurant industry for around 40 years and my standards are high… Chef Angello welcomed us at the door . Nicole ( our server ) was extremely attentive and made us feel like Royals. The veal Marsala the rib eye steak and the grilled octopus were extremely delicious…. My husband and I found the authentic Italian hospitality..

SPECIFICALLY asked for a QUIET table away from large parties; so use old friends could catch up. We were seated in the back room and the only party there when we arrived. Withing 15 minutes a party of 8 or 10 were seated right next to us. They were loud, obnoxious, boisterous, and pretty much out of control for the ENTIRE meal. Service and food were good; but I'm incredibly disappointed in this request not being accommodated.

The food was pretty good. One person in my party ordered the pizza and said it was the best he’s had. Another person ordered the calzone, massive portion, I recommend sharing. Excellent sauce inside the calzone. Service was a little spotty but we didn’t mind as we were enjoying our conversation. Fun place to go, casual atmosphere, big wrap around bar.
