The servers were great. The hostess was very rude.
I enjoy myself every time I go. My waitress was remarkable
Unfortunately my experience on 6/18/21 @9pm was lack luster . I have been to this location many times , but this visit was close to a nightmare. The service was just terrible , short staffed. Our drinks came almost a hour after we sat down . Our food came and appetizers came out together BEFORE our drinks. Also my plate didn’t include my vegetables mix .
I will attribute last night to a random fluke .
Food was awful. Crab cake was all filler. Mahi tacos were gross, fish had been frozen. Understaffed. Took 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Never again.
My sister really wanted some Maryland seafood so we decided to spend a day in the Baltimore harbor and enjoy some dining. We arrived a few minutes earlier than our reservation and were seated right away. Except for a little wait for our drinks everything was served promptly. They were still conscious of COVID as all the staff were wearing masks and guests were required to wear them when they weren’t seated. I also saw them sanitizing every time a party left a table.
The food was really good and they had good sized portions. My sister and I shared the calamari app which was plenty for two people and it was so good! I had the oyster po’ boy which was good, I just wish I remembered to ask them not to put tomatoes on my sandwich because it makes it soggy. My sister had the crab cake entree which she said was good but she also said that she thought it would be better because it was Maryland lol. The drinks were great! I had a glass of rosé and a glass of Prosecco, both were top notch. My sister had the watermelon sugatini which she liked a lot because she got two ☺️. The wait staff was attentive and courteous (customer service goes a long way with me!). I would absolutely visit again!
The food was excellent here. We had the calamari, spicy chilli wings, Mahi Mahi tacos, Oyster Po Boy, Caprese Flatbread, and Southwest wrap.
Ms Texas was absolutely amazing. She made our time there so comfortable and fun.
Texas was a great server. Food was amazing. Beautiful place.
Ms. Texas was an amazing server! So personable, and well versed on the menu. Food was pretty good, and the restaurant was beautiful!
Wend for Sunday brunch. Food was outstanding and came out very quickly. Our server did not seem to know what she was doing, perhaps she was new to the job. Bar service was horrible. I had to walk to the bar several times to inquire about our drinks. I would give them a second chance though.
Great food and amazing service! Definitely will come back!
It was pleasant and relaxing with great cocktails
Loved the seafood. Mushroom flatbread was a great appetizer. Perfect place for friends’ get-together.
10 stars for Mrs. Texas as she is a FANTASTIC waitress…one of the best I have ever had in Baltimore. Tip my hat to her!
The Server was mot attentive at all. It took him 30mins just to come and see if we wanted drinks he never came to check on us
This was my first time at Blackwall Hitch and I would definitely go back. The waiters are very accommodating attentive and hospitable. Our waitress Ms. Texas was a delight. They make u feel welcomed there. I went for an early dinner with my spouse and our young child however I can imagine at night this would also be a great place for friends getting dinner and drinks you can be casually dressed or dressed up and still feel like you're at the right place .. The drinks hit the spot! The food is flavorful and well cooked. And if decor matters to you the subtle elgance in the slightly boat themed establishment is spot on with its entire look its not too much but just enough and whole entreé of class!
Had a reservation and sat at about 430. We were sat and the waiter took 30 minutes to come greet us, when I went to inquire about a waiter we were told we weren’t supposed to be sat there and the waiter was on break. Drinks took probably another 30 minutes. Food was fine for a tourist location. Server just seemed like he’d rather be doing other things and annoyed by us.
We waited quite awhile for service, and asked the hostess to ensure a waiter was assigned to us. Then Shakira came and turned our experience around. She was attentive and helped us make good selections for food and drinks. We enjoyed the food a lot. Our only disappointment is that we'd heard about the wonderful Sunday brunch buffet and were hoping to partake, but there wasn't a buffet at this location. Many thanks again to Shakira for a wonderful experience.
We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary with friends. There were 4 other larger parties going on as well, including an actual wedding. But CHRIS gave us the most remarkable service. He was quick but that didn’t take away from his proficiency. We were the smallest party of the bunch, but he still made sure we were okay with check ins. We did have a little mix up with our drink order since the upstairs bar was closed due to the wedding. But Chris’s service outweighed any issues we encountered. He was amazing! The food was really good. Highlights were the oysters, the pork chop dinner, and the shrimp and grits. We will be back bc we all really had a pod time. But Chris took our experience over the top.
Went for lunch when visiting the aquarium. The waiter took note of our time frame and the food came out timelines and we made our reservation time. Food was very good.
Came here for the first time to celebrate an anniversary. Service was slow, which was surprising given that we were one of only a few patrons at the time, but the food was good, especially the Bayou Penne.
Excellent service, food, and cocktails.
Service was painfully slow, food arrived cold after a long wait, and the wine was overpriced (all bottom-shelf generic brands where you can buy a bottle at the grocery store for less than the cost of a glass).
Appetizers came after the meal was served even though we were told our meal order wouldn’t be put in until after we received our appetizers.
Other than that the food as great.
Beautiful interior and ambiance. We were there for the brunch which was unique but tasty menu. Should offer kids breakfast items for brunch. Drinks were delicious.
Horribly run. Food took forever. Then came cold
Our waiter (wolfgang) was great. The food was relatively standard, and way over-priced for the portion and quality. There were some great local beers on tap. There was also a strange smell in the restaurant, which I can only assume is from whatever cleaning suites they use. There are better options close by.
Terrible service. Food was poorly prepared. Do not recommend
Great food, great table service. Well decorated. Rude hostess.
Our waitress was excellent and we had a great time celebrating my friend’s birthday!
Our waitress was wonderful, friendly and informative. Her menu recommendations didn’t disappoint, definitely delicious. However, once our entres were served, we felt a bit abandoned. It took her a long time to return to clear our plates, and she assumed we were ready for our check. However, it was my friend’s birthday, and he did want desert. We did notice that the restaurant was closing; it was Sunday night with few patrons, so we thought, she would quickly take our order and bring it out. No another long wait; we did get the desert we ordered eventually, and waitress remained very personable, but really the long wait was unwarranted as the restaurant was nearly empty. I realize staffing these days is a problem, and there are still COVID restrictions, but the service flow was disappointing for a restaurant in this price range.
I would go back for sure! The food was really good and worth it. The wings could be a little less expensive to be honest but they were so good!
The food is great, drinks are great. Overpriced but delicious. It took over 25 minutes to get a drink and over an hour to get our dinner. Waiter apologized once and that was it.
The service was pretty slow, we had a reservation at 4:45 and didn't receive our check until about 7pm, an we did not have coffee or dessert. The food was good, but your paying for convenience in a tourist area that I would not return to.
Great place to a special occasion
Brunch was good. Drinks were great!
I dined at Blackwall Hitch on a Saturday for brunch with three friends. The staff was very friendly which pretty much saved the experience for me. The food was just ok (I had the tuna tartare and chorizo skillet) but the timing of the service was way off. We received our apps seconds before we received our entrees and had to ask abt our drinks after we received our entrees. Then we had to flag down the server for more water and another round of drinks. The service felt way off in that sense (almost uncoordinated) but everyone was friendly.
The server was clearly inexperienced and overwhelmed. The wait time for drinks was way too long. The server did not come to take orders in a timely fashion. When this was brought to the attention of the manager, his first response was “ if you know someone who wants a job then we could use them”. Their staffing issue is not my concern and should not have been the first response from the manager. We waited about 45 minutes for the checks to be corrected after the manager comped our drinks. This took a couple of tries by the server who finally asked for assistance from another server. I was really looking forward to a great experience being that it was my first time there. If I decide to dine there again, hopefully my experience will be much better.
Excellent food service and atmosphere for value!
Miss Texas was awesome!
