Best service experience since Covid began. If this place is short staffed, you wouldn’t know it. Food and service was top notch and met high expectations you would have for a steakhouse.
We have been to lunch quite a few times when visiting family.
The food is always great and you are never rushed.. The service is excellent and it is a very enjoyable atmosphere to relax and visit while dining.
Great steakhouse with the traditional sides and a very attentive waitress, regardless of the crowd. Our steak (and turkey) was prepared exactly as ordered and all was good.
One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. Service was good. Food was good. The filet mignon was disappointing in its size. Hard to believe it was truly a 14 ounce piece of beef. Cooked well but too small.
We had to wait for about 10 minutes for our table beyond our reservation time and not sure having one made a difference. The food was all excellent- every course - we had appetizers, salads, and main courses. The service was very slow although the server himself was very nice and attentive- food was slow coming. Overall it was a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday.
Bartender was very, very slow with food service
Great wait staff. Delicious food. Steak cooked perfectly. We were so full we took dessert home and greatly enjoyed it later in the evening.
It's a nice spot. You can't bring to this steakhouse which sucks. Food was good but pricey and it felt like the waiter was always trying to up sell. I'm not sure I would go back.
Food was delicious. Drink prices were outrageous. $16 for a Moscow mule that overflowing with ice and barely and vodka.
Oh an $22 for a small bowl of Mac and cheese.
They also had 4 different servers coming to the table every 5 min.
Great as always. Super accommodating for my grandmother.
The food, service, were all great. When I made the reservation I put in that it was our annviersary and wanted to do something for my wife. But nobody mention that. Overall excellent will go again
Nice interior, considerable amount of odd hair on our white table cloth. Bacon app not as good as Luger’s or Joseph’s. Steak was solid however. Cooked as requested and had discernible dry aged flavor.
Service was slow and had to order drinks more than once.
Food was great!
Disappointing experience where we always expect good food and comfortable environment. It was restaurant week in Fairfield so that might have been part of the problem
- Dining room was cold and manager informed us there was a problem with the heat. He should have mentioned that when they took the reservation or called
- Table near ours was having a grand time and was extremely noisy. Good for them not so good for other diners, Management could have asked them to quiet down a little
- Meatball appetizer was extremely dry to the point we sent it back. Sizzling Bacon was better, but needed a steak knife to cut it and it took multiple requests to get one after which time it was no longer sizzling
- Our final coffee arrived cold.
Not the best experience.
Went during restaurant week. It was fine but not great. Filet cooked
Perfectly but nothing special. Don’t expect to return.
Food was fantastic. Waiter was ok. His assistants were excellent.
We were very impressed by the ambience of the restaurant as well as the service in delicious Food serve there. It was our first visit at this restaurant and we were able to take advantage of the restaurant week prefixed menu which was absolutely delicious. We hope to be back soon.
Great service! Delicious food! Very nice for a special occasion!
We went for restaurant week & had the 3-course price fixed meal with the filet. It was delicious!
Great filet, classic steakhouse! No holes barred! Will be back!
First time here we had a great time the food and staff were great! The owner came over and provided our table with a free after dinner drink just great!
The best martini I ever had!
I couldn’t even finish it!!
We visited Blackstones during restaurant week in Fairfield. The food was of excellent quality and more than adequate quantity, however, my husband’s steak was not served well done, as he had ordered. My tomato and mozzarella appetizer would have been better served at room temperature, but was still very good. The service was prompt and pleasant. We were there early in the evening and it was not crowded, so it was quiet and the background music, which was pleasant, could be heard and conversation was easy. Outside of restaurant week, the prices are high. The quality makes it worthwhile for an occasion.
Great Value during Restaurant Week. Nice atmosphere, delicious food and great service.
Enjoyed Fairfield Restaurant week at Blackstones.
The sizzling bacon with spicy BBQ sauce for dipping was amazing! The escargot was very flavorful.
The filet mignon was extremely tender , the salmon cooked perfectly over spinach. LOVED the tiramisu
Our server was extremely knowledgeable
The restaurant was crowded and noisy but the real disappointment was the service. They clearly didn’t have enough staff to handle their guest load during our visit.
Love this place - never a bad meal - friendly service
Excellent training of staff. Service impeccable. Food choices for promotion fine. Pace of meal ok+. Wine prices/glass acceptable. Wine prices by bottle unacceptable.
Good value for restaurant week.
We both ordered steak and sat at the bar. The bartender was fun and attentive! Drinks and food were excellent
Very busy for restaurant week. The steak was excellent, service a bit overwhelmed by the volume of customers.
Always one of our favorite spots to bring our college kids when we visit them at Fairfield University! This time we had James as our server and he was awesome!!!
Been here many times, came for restaurant week, great pre fix menu. The right amount of food at a great price
They didn’t have a table for us, even though we reserved. Told us we either had to wait 20 minutes or take a bar area high top. They didn’t express they were sorry, just said “you know this isn’t an exact science.” Yet they looked right past us to the group that came in AFTER us, promising them the next table that was coming available. We sat at the bar high top, right next to the kitchen & busing area, which was cold and very noisy. Good food, but kind of marred by the experience.
Great steakhouse, great service and amazing menu….
Nice meal. Service was good. Hosts were quite attentive. Will return for sure!
Excellent cuisine, attentive and friendly staff and very accommodating!
Thank you for a wonderful evening out would highly recommend!
An offering of featured cocktails would be a great addition!!
food was mediocre. ambiance was nice. service was friendly
Delicious and great ambiance
