We always enjoy our dinner and the service. It might be slightly overpriced, but it is a good time and we always leave satisfied with our meal and the service.

Happy Hour “snacks” of lamb meatballs and garlic shrimp were excellent. Accompanying bread for both could have been fresher. Drinks were good for the happy hour price. All in all, a bargain for Happy Hour All-Day Tuesday.

We go to the Black Rail often. On this visit we were informed that their Happy Hour has been discontinued, which was a disappointment. But the food, which is typically very good, also disappointed in that the skirt steak was very tough. However, the biggest disappointment was when we received the bill. $38 for 2 martinis. Granted it was a premium vodka but that is just too much to charge for drinks. That last item will keep us from going back very often.

The hostess was great and worked hard to make sure our guest, who had noise issues and Garlic food allergies was taken care of. She gave us several seating suggestions and worked with us the whole time until we found the best place for our friend. The food was very good, just a bit salty. The Noise level, even without the jazz music was very - very loud.

Food was mediocre for hospital food Spicy Pancetta Ragu was anything but spicy Oven roasted chicken was tough and impossible to get off the bone. Veggies were mush. Had to wave down server to order (should have been a hint) Extremely loud

My wife, my mom, my eldest son, and his girlfriend had Mothers Day dinner at Black Rail. The service was prompt and warm. We started with cocktails and they were fantastic. The hummus appetizer was clearly made in the restaurant and was quite delicious. Our entrees included the steak sandwich and cioppino. Both were very well prepared. My cioppino was the best of them all. Spicy, flavorful, bright. Truly was a great meal.

Seems to be going down hill. Food is good but portions are very small (even the fries) and certainly expensive for you get. Not a lot of restaurants in La Costa - I hope they improve!
