Black Eyed Suzie's
We got there around 7:30 which was after the dinner rush and it was on a weeknight so it was quiet. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The only complaint about her was that when we were ready to pay it was hard to find her. The only other complaint would be that the food was salty, but we addressed it with the manager and he appreciated the feedback.
Our server Trey was fantastic and food was great as well as the drinks. Only issue was sitting upstairs in a side room with no view other than the wall wasn’t the best for ambiance. But we will be back, just won’t sit there again.
How about changing that menu up? It’s been done to death. Good grapefruit crush, though.
Date night with my wife
Excellent service by Trey, as usual. Our food and drinks were exceptional.
As usual, Trey was excellent. So were the food and drink.
Our waiter, Trey, was excellent. What a happy person, as well as being very competent!!!
Went there for the first time. Great food and service. We will back when we’re in the area.
Excellent server. Trey always anticipates our needs! He is so genuinely friendly!!
Awesome service very clean nice atmosphere would definitely go back
We had 8 in our party for a birthday celebration. Everything we had was great....the orange crushes are the best! Great appetizers and our entrees were nice proportions. The prices for our food and drinks were reasonable. Looking forward to going to Black Eyed Suzie's again and having an orange crush and some old bay boneless wings!
Trey is such a great waiter. We have had him serve us no fewer than than 10 times. He is outstanding!!!
Based on a positive first experience my wife & I invited some friends to join us for dinner @ Black Eyed Suzies recently.
We were pleased to arrive in time to take advantage of happy hour pricing on drinks and appetizers, despite the fact that we were not in the bar. Our waitress, Julia recommended the bacon mac-n-cheese spring rolls, and thank God she did. They were great. We also tried the Hot Chicken Sliders, which were good. I had the salmon risotto. The salmon filet was cooked perfectly, though the risotto was a bit too thick. My wife and one of our friends enjoyed the buffalo chicken wrap.
The drinks were good. However, my wife had a beer that was either bad or not what she ordered. Julia quickly remedied the situation.
Overall, this was another great meal. We will return.
We celebrated two birthday parties with eight people in attendance. The table suited us comfortably and the atmosphere was very kid friendly. The food was delicious. I wasn't much a fan of the "cream of crab" due to the lack of crab meat, but the crab cakes were pretty good (let's say about average to slightly above average). Both birthday individuals received a dessert on the house and it was delicious. Was a special time for us to get together, as we haven't enjoyed each others company in about 2-3 years.
As per usual a great meal and experience.
Nice comfort food restaurant in downtown Bel Air. Decent menu and a good beer list to match. First floor is spacious and also has second floor and roof dining areas as well. Small area downstairs for bar seating with additional bars on the 2nd floor & roof as well. Waitstaff is friendly and quick and food comes out hot & ready. Can get to be crowded & loud, particularly on Friday & Saturday nights, but that's to be expected. Overall, a nice place to eat when in the area and worth a look. 'A' Rating
Love this place. They have always been friendly and fast service as well as very helpful. It is one of our favorite relaxing restaurants that has a great atmosphere and great food!
Always great food and great service!
Not the best experience and not the worst. The waiter was mediocre at best, very unenthusiastic about being there. I’ve heard great things about the restaurant, but was not impressed. Unlikely to return.
First time going there n will be back! Great service and awesome food !
I love Black Eyed Suzies and have been many times. This time in particular we made a reservation to take my father and step mother out for brunch for Father's day at 11:30. The food was fantastic as usual, but I was slightly disappointed by the lack of attention to our drinks and the neglect we received from our server. I sat for most of my meal without a drink in front of me. I ended up taking my step mothers glass of water and was never given a refill on my diet coke OR given a refill on my water. My father ended up putting our dirty plates on the bar just to give us some extra space at our high top table.
Apparently, they were giving out fathers day bags. We watched a member of the staff walk around to other tables giving the bags out but hadn't stopped at our table. When we tried to flag him down he must not have seen us and when our waitress returned she informed us all of the bags were gone. My father was pretty disappointed. Of course we'll return to this establishment eventually, but I think it's time we take a break for a bit...
Great food, great service. Fun atmosphere. Really nice gift for all the dads on Father's Day
This was my first visit to Black Eyed Suzies, though I had been to this location when it was another restaurant. I chose Black Eyed Suzies for Fathers Day brunch because it's on OpenTable and it is close to Rocks State Park.
As we were being seated I was given a Fathers Day gift bag, an unexpected and wonderful surprise. It had a couple of pint glasses and a few other gifts. It was really a nice touch!
My wife & I started with Bacon Bourbon Bloody Marys, which were fantastic. For brunch I had the burger with a fried egg, scrapple and bacon and a good helping of home fries. It was excellent! Too bad it didn't come with a side of Lipitor!
My wife had the chicken and waffles, which was also delicious. In fact, I ate her leftovers for breakfast the next day!
My kids had the avocado toast and the traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries).
The service from Sam was also very good.
I highly recommend Black Eyed Suzies and hope it lasts longer than it's predecessors.
We went on father’s day and I think they over prepared for the expected crowd. The bloody Mary’s were fantastic but when our meals came out the hash brown potatoes were VERY hot and our scrapple Benny’s were cold (both mine and my fathers). Then we ordered the brownie Sunday and while the brownie was fine, I believe the ice cream was pre scooped and then frozen because the scoop of ice cream was like a block of ice we could barley break Into. I’ve never had a bad experience before so I think I’ll just chalk it up to an anticipated busy holiday.
We had a great experience. We were a large party with special dietary needs and were well taken care of. Eventhough our waitress had 2 other large tables, she was attentive and smiling. Can't wait to go back!
Nice sandwiches, bar atmosphere, good service, one of the nicer places in Bel Air.
Fun Maryland themed bar. Great food & bar service! Definitely going back!
Very good. Waitress funny and attentive. Want to go back!
Arrived 10 minutes below scheduled reservation and were seated promptly. The booth we were seated in was directly across from an air conditioning exhaust and is was very cool to the point of being uncomfortable. A manager noticed and had it adjusted so is was warmer. Food, drinks and dessert were excellent. Service was a little slow because of a large Mothers Day crowd. The dining experience was reasonable for the cost expended for the four of us and our Mom's were happy. Would definitely consider dining there again and recommending others to consider it in their dining out occasions.
Our server Chrissy was both friendly and attentive. She did a great job with getting our orders in a timely manner and making sure our table had everything it needed. The food was excellent, and I will definitely be ordering the spicy chicken and waffle again.
It’s another really loud restaurant and the bench seating in the bar area is horribly uncomfortable—avoid it. We were there at noon on Mother’s Day—not for dinner or during a time when the bar part itself would be busy.
The food was definitely good and my mother proclaimed her crab cake excellent, but if you want to have a conversation with the person you’re dining with, forget it unless you enjoy shouting. Maybe it’s quieter on their roof deck, but it was raining the day we were there.
Really great Mothers’s Day brunch. Service was a little slow but to be expected on a busy holiday but our waitress continually checked on us and kept us updated on our food. Had the hot chicken and waffles and it was sooo good. My husband had the breakfast burrito which could have used a side dish but he said it was still good. My son got the kids terp breakfast and the French toast....he liked both and was totally worth ordering/paying off both. Would go back for brunch again!!
We really enjoyed our brunch for Mother’s Day! Service and food were both great!
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Brunch menu had a large selection, and was very reasonable.
The quality of the food compared to the price was not at all aligned.
Love the atmosphere of the place! I’ve never had a meal that I didn’t enjoy. They have a great selection of appetizers and the Mac and Cheese rolls were worth the trip. The happy hour specials were very well priced with decent selection. There was live music in the main floor but you have the option to be seated away from the music so that was a nice option. Overall, very good experience.
Had my family out for a early Easter dinner and it was fantastic. Food and service was top notch and our server Josh was great and handled our big group well.
They did away with the buffet. Big bummer. Service was slow, food was cold, we all weren't served at the same time, server very inattentive.
Great Easter brunch
We enjoy Susie's for it casual setting, good food, and lately good fast service!
