It’d been a long week of work and parenting. My wife and I wanted to enjoy a Sunday afternoon to ourselves. We’d looked around on OpenTable for somewhere local to try.
The pictures for BlackHaus were intriguing enough for us to try it out. Luckily, we were able to reserve a table for the evening.
It wasn’t busy when we got there so we were able to get right in.
Once seated and scanning the menu, we decided on our drinks. Pomegranate Cider and an Old Fashioned. The waiter let me know that the smoke smell that was in the air was from the bar and they could smoke my Old Fashioned if I wanted. I’d never had a smoked drink, so I gladly accepted the offer.
Both drinks were good. The smoke in the Old Fashioned added another level of complexity to an already great drink.
Our starter of polenta fries came out next. What a delicious way to start the meal. Nice and tasty, with just the right amount of crunch on the outside. The bacon jam and garlic chimichurri included with the fries; I COULD DRINK CUPS OF THEM. Not sure if they’re made on site or it’s purchased but I’d never had them.
Dinner was the filet and Scotch salmon pasta. The steak was cooked perfectly to the temp my wife asked for. Perfectly seasoned with just some salt and pepper. It also came with chimichurri. Her side of crispy cauliflower was pretty flipping tasty too. I wanted to take that from her. 😊
My pasta was yum too. When I scooped it up, at first, I thought that it wouldn’t be because I’m used to thicker sauces. I was wrong. The sauce had so many different layers of flavor to it.
My wife doesn’t really like salmon. As a testament to how good it was, she was stealing the fish out of my plate.
To finish the night off, I ordered another drink. An apple crisp. It’s the only thing I wasn’t a fan of that we tried. It tasted good; it was more of a textural issue. Apple pieces weren’t great in a cold beverage. That drink feels like something that might taste better hot in a mug.
It was a good night!
Atmosphere and service were fine but the quality of the food was not good.
So many delicious choices, including some naturally low-cal options for the dieters in our group. Cauliflower and broccoli choices were excellent.
Service and food were top notch!
Will be back for sure!
Food and service were wonderful! Even though we were in a booth it was a little difficult to hear. But I will go back!
Excellent as always. Pork Belly appetizer was outstanding! Service was fantastic. Looking forward to summer cocktails out on the patio.
Apathetic waitress. Decent food. Bad wine. Great location
This was our second time at Black+Haus. Their apps are great, especially the cauliflower! The wait staff friendly. This is the second time I have ordered a salad and been underwhelmed though. The tomato salad wasn't very good, especially at the price. I had the steak salad last time and it was just ok.
Great location and food, staff is very nice!
Excellent food, great service.
First time. We had read the reviews and had high expectations. Did not disappoint. Recommend the blistered peppers and the habanero jelly
The restaurant was so crowded it made us very nervous. If we had not already been vaccinated we would have left. The food was ok but not great.
The food was delicious - - inventive without being ridiculous. Nice sized portions. Lovely service. It was a bit loud, but otherwise a great find in our new home town of Parker, CO
Although the food was very tasteful, I have a hard time justifying $35 for a steak in bar.
The menu is lacking choices. Either high priced steak, or burgers.
it was ok, not exciting and not bad. Kind of a place you go when your favorite places are packed
Great newer restaurant in downtown Parker - highly recommended.
Very pleased with entire experience. Food, waitress, and table were best we have eaten in a long time. Waitress steered me correct with temperature of my salmon. I had no idea!
Great food, great location and great service. I recommend this restaurant.
Great food and good service
We went with another couple for dinner. Everything was great as always food drinks...
Ordered Hot Italian Sandwich. It was “way” overcooked. The meat inside was more like Jerky than anything. Literally this sandwich was extremely dry and tasteless. Fries were good however.
New to this restaurant. Found all the staff wearing their mask correctly except for the adult male bartenders. At times the masks were on their chins. I mentioned it to our server and the best they could do was to tell the bartenders and they moved their mask up but it didn’t cover their nose. Enjoyed our meal but was very bothered by the inconsistency of mask wearing by a very limited amount of staff.
Great food ! Center cut filet was cooked to perfection! Drink selection was incredible.
I want this restaurant to be successful, however you cannot charge these prices for food that you have cut corners on. Meat cold, soft croutons on salads that seem to be prepared a day before. Try harder in the kitchen, great service!
The meals were fabulous as was the service. You must try the brussels sprouts!! I had the filet and my husband had the salmon and both were excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great food, atmosphere and wait staff was very attentive.
Food was typical bar fare. Good size burgers and plenty of fries. A little over priced but good place if you want to hang out.
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were extremely friendly!
My wife has eaten the salads from here a couple of times and they are always good. We were pretty disappointed in the burger and pork tacos on this occasion. The burger was undercooked and the bacon jam had a grainy texture to it. Not like any other bacon jam I have had before. The fries tasted like they were previously frozen or had been sitting out awhile. The pork tacos were bland and my wife only ate 1 of the 3 provided. Her side salad was great. We both ordered the margarita and it wasn't bad, but Parker Garage and West Main both have better margs. I am not sure I will return for anything other than a salad. We like other restaurants in Parker better.
Great food. Super nice servers and cocktails were delicious.
Very good food and attentive service. Will definitely go back to try more of their dishes.
Such a nice addition to Parker! Good people and good food, interesting drinks. They still need to work on their reservation system, which needs better timing. Otherwise, a great spot any day of the week!
The back room just doesn’t have the same atmosphere
Great food and drinks!
Great service especially during a busy hour!
Will definitely go back!
Great flavor and a robust menu, definitely recommend.
Prior dining experience had been fantastic. Tonight was a huge miss. Wondering if our waitress was new? I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio. She asked if I wanted “the one from New Zealand”? Said no it was Italian and read the name. She had no idea and had to look at my menu. They have one set soup on the menu and one daily. Asked what the daily soup was. She didn’t know and had to search her hand held device. Asked her opinion on their vegetarian options. She asked which ones I was considering, after which she recommended the pasta and said I could “add on chicken”. Tried the carrot ginger soup but after 3 bites couldn’t eat anymore due to the overwhelmingly strong ginger flavor - and I love ginger. The grilled mushroom sandwich was average. The fingerling potatoes arrived lukewarm. The charred salmon was great. Empty water glass never refilled. Finally flagged someone down. When paying, waitress read off the amount from her hand held device and took our card. No option to review bill. No receipt offered. Finally, I’d recommend they just turn off the music. It’s so loud in there from diner’s voices that you can’t actually hear what’s playing so it only adds additional background noise. After my first experience here (outside dining for lunch) - which I raved about on a social media site - I had really been looking forward to this dinner. It was not a good experience all the way around and left pretty disappointed.
Excellent experience, inventive menu with lots of GF options and great food and service.
I have been a half dozen times now and have not had anything that I didn't love! It's my new favorite place in Parker. The servers are friendly and knowledgable of the menu. The food is fantastic and the drink menu is great!
