This is a great addition to the town of Wellesley. Very comfortable seating: tables nicely spread out and long intimate bar pillows for your back. A variety of well prepared meats, fish, appetizers. My only complaint is that I ordered Grouper on July 23: broiled Mediterranean style. Since then, the menu changed: the Grouper was coated and served over rice instead of vegetables. It was dry and tasteless. I’d like the return of the original recipe. Also, I tried the beef tartare instead of the tuna tartare. Both are excellent and good proportions, but I prefer the tuna. We will definitely return.

Service was slow at best. Took 20 minutes for drink order to be taken. Another 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Super loud in restaurant and impossible to hear anything. Food was fine but nothing you couldn’t get at any other steakhouse. Overall, unimpressed and will not be going back.

Food, service, ambience all were outstanding for our family dinner out and first experience at Black and Blue. Will definitely be going back. If I were to think of any improvement, it would be a more contemporary dining plate to match the decor.

Oysters were fresh and delicious. Pork belly appetizer literally melted in your mouth. Our entrees were cowboy ribeye (had a peculiar flavor- not bad, just different- that I did not care for), snapper (fantastic and cooked to perfection), and the short rib (tasty and tender). Our server, Monica was so attentive and on the ball. Will definitely be back to try everything else in the menu!

Amazing service and a beautiful atmosphere. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so delicious. Only criticism is they serve steaks on a sizzling plate which continues to cook the steak over time. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare but ended up medium well by the time I had finished. But a really spectacular meal.

Everything about our experience was perfection. From the moment we checked in you could tell that the staff had taken time to review the provided information about our party. They knew who didn’t eat red meat and whose birthday it was. The service was geared towards our needs and the entire dinning experience was flawless.

Food is all good but not amazing. For the price, it should be more distinctive. Flavors are all just a bit bland and unimaginative. Service is always great and nice ambiance.

Our first time visit to Black and Blue was very disappointing. I had high hopes for this sleek new establishment well located in the heart of Wellesley Center. Easy parking; easy reservations. However, it went downhill from there. On arrival there were 3 hosts at the desk. They seem confused taking a long time to take us to our table. Our primary server was slow getting to us. The bottle of chardonnay we ordered was out of stock. Caesar salad was flavorless. We waited a very long time to get our steak entrees. Our server was out of sight for a very long time. The manager finally came by to let us know we would soon get our entrees of the 7 0z filet. Meat was cooked to order with our preferred side of Bearnaise sauce. All sides are a la carte making for an expensive meal. My companion ordered the mashed potatoes which were very good. We were served by a different waiter who did not know what we had ordered. No one came by to refill wine glasses or check if we needed anything. Our dessert was a very glue like key lime pie. The restaurant is extremely noisy for conversation. It seems that the management needs to do more training and up their game or Black and Blue will not survive.
