BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse - Newport News

Really nice looking restaurant. They have an excellent menu with many great selections (it made it hard to decide). My daughter enjoyed the ribs and I went with the lower cal bison burger. Both were great. We especially liked the excellent selection of good side options. They have a spectacular looking bar, and the beer selection was all any beer lover could ask for. The service was super friendly and helpful, and the virtual check/bill pay process was great. Quick and, during this pandemic, the reduced contact of the transaction was much appreciated.

Thankful for Veteran’s Day recognition. In these social distancing times, we were seated in main thoroughfare. SanteFe salads were not as good as before. Most likely due to shortened staff. Fully understand the situation.

Had a great time with exception of the large group of takeout dinner guests surrounding our table...a few close enough to be sitting next to us. COVID or not it was wrong. We moved to another table after talking to management. Then they lined them along all the patrons sitting at tables including ours. I will not be returning. Poor management and people with no sense.

We loved our server. The food was amazing and she even made recommendations that turned out to be winners. Great time

We are in a own from Pennsylvania and really enjoyed our visit to BJ’s. Food, beer, and house sodas were all fantastic. We will be back whenever we return!

Very clean atmosphere. Waitor very knowledgeable about menu and suggestions Food was good but drinks had too much ice for the price of drinks.

Fun place to get good food and enjoy watching the games. Good selection of their own craft beer, as well as others. My wife loves the Mediterranean Chicken Pita Taco with Quinoa. I had the BBQ Sliders and the Gold Medal Beer Flight. Service was very good. We were even offered some beer samples to try. Might have to save room next time for the Pizookies, they looked delicious.

The waitress was super busy but made it up to us with a free pizookie and we appreciated her hustle!

Restaurant was great but the wait staff could have been better. We never got refills and he was hard to find.

Everything is great as usual the only reason I did not give five stars on the food was because the roasted asparagus was not what I expected. It was very thin and hard to eat.

I went for a girls moms Night out with 4 of my best friends. It took us over an hour to arrive,but it was worth it.
Terrell was our server and he did a fantastic job. He was knowledgeable about the menu and was our tour guide for everything BJ’s related. We had a great time and will be back soon.

There were actually 6 of us, we had a great time! Our server Charles wAs great. He was very personable and efficient. Our table tried the cheese curds & calamari. The cheese curds were delicious and calamari was pretty good. The rest of table ordered a variety of entrees. I had prime rib and mashed potatoes. They were very tasty. Another had chicken wings which were very tasty. The star of the night (besides the Cadillac martini) was the monkey bread pizookie was Outfreakinstanding. I would go back just to have that. Our table of 6 got one and there wasn’t anything left......

Went on a Thursday night and the place was packed. We were seated within ten minutes, just enough time to grab a beer at the bar. Service was great and food was excellent.

When we arrived for our reservation we were told that there it enough servers to seat us, so we waited for 25 minutes past our reservation time. Our waitress was very inattentive. Food was very disappointing. The cold spaghetti and meatballs was the worst. Not worth the money or the wait.

Food was great but the service was slow. The management team needs to "up" their game in ensuring they have an appropriate number of staff working and waiting tables. I've read in past reviews this location has not been the best in providing prompt service. We had almost finished our meals before the previously ordered second round of drinks were delivered. We had to remind them we were still waiting. When dessert arrived, the spoon for my Pazookie dropped to the floor and the waitress said she'd be back with another. Waited 5 minutes and finally used a family member's spoon as my ice cream was melting. Couldn't find the waitress nearby or any other waiter/waitress without having to get up and "roam" the restaurant. I recommend BJ's, but this location needs to address the service issue.

Friend asked for a steak well done and she cut it and saw blood. Another friend ordered fish tacos and there was a small piece of fish which was fried but she ordered grilled. The double bone in pork chop was great. The items ordered were fixed however due to the inconvenience their meals should have been discounted.

Charles made this an enjoyable meal. Attentive and helpful, he pointed out perfect choices and directed us to the BJ App. He also was able to track us down when the 3 year old in our party left her Hello Kitty behind. Superb.

We go to BJ's on occasion and really enjoy the place. Our usual experience is it gets loud, and conversation is difficult. But knowing this, we scheduled early, my elderly mother in law wanted to take us out for our 39th anniversary. Everything was great, not too loud, and I always enjoy the pork chops. Even better than what I make myself. Good time, for sure.

Graduation Dinner

Sat in outside patio. Ambiance was good except that the speakers piping music was loud.

Unbelievable variety on the menu which numbers many, many pages. The quality of the food was very good and the service was likewise. We will definitely go again.
