   Food was good. Server seemed frazzled, impatient, and irritated with questions about the menu. Not warm or friendly. Felt like he wanted to turn the table quickly.

   This is a classic SF location. Food is great, service is awesome, and you can’t beat the live music. Will come here again!

   Bix has a wonderful speakeasy vibe. It actually feels like a jazz club in a way. The staff was welcoming, professional, and attentive. Their menu had a nice variety of dishes and they have a full service bar. One dish that stood out to me was the crab roll hors d'oeuvres. I also had the pork chop which was a very large portion and it even came with two small pork ribs. And the brown butter cornbread was excellent. Bix is a classy and elegant restaurant. I will definitely return again.

   Food was quality. Ordered the whole fish and crab tagliatelle with fresh oysters and bone marrow. Afterwards, they even escorted us 2 women to our car to make sure we made it to the car safely since we got out late.

   Love it there. Perfect date venue. Especially great for a Tuesday. Wish we had more places in San Francisco that deliver at this level.

   The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. While it is on the pricey side, I'm uncertain if the cost justifies the experience. Perhaps more variety in the side dishes would help, though that’s a minor concern. Overall, it was a delightful meal, and we will definitely return.

   Ambience was great and service was fantastic but the food was pretty underwhelming. Me and my date didn’t finish our food and they had to refund one of her dishes unfortunately. I would go back for drinks and ambiance but not for food (I’m not a harsh food critic either).

   Do yourself a favor and skip this place if any of the following matter to you: 1.You value conversation at the table. The noise level is extremely high, and the acoustics are poor—making it nearly impossible to talk without raising your voice. 2.You’re vegetarian. There are no real vegetarian entrées. My daughter was served a spoonful of mashed potatoes and four asparagus stalks—for which we were charged $24. 3.You’re looking for good value. The food was decent, but definitely not worth the price. It was far from memorable. 4.You’re expecting a pleasant dining experience with live jazz. While live music was advertised, the setup wasn’t suitable for the space. The music was far too loud for the intimate setting, and we had to shout just to hear each other.

    It's really all about the atmosphere at Bix. We had our wedding reception there 25 years ago so it has a place in my heart. The food is good, some very good, but none of it amazing. But the room is. It is a beautiful, sophisticated space -- timeless. Our server was excellent, too.
