Located in downtown Bozeman, Bitterroot Bistro is based on Montana values, using Montana ingredients, focusing on Montana food. Great restaurant experience at Bitteroot Bistro - food was absolutely on point, the wine selection was superb - the Sangiovese was perfect accompaniment to the coulotte steak was phenomenal and the trout dip and entree were both spot on. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing, we will be back, highly recommend!

We dined at the Bitterroot Bistro with our friends during our recent stay in Bozeman and it was such a gem -- delicious salad, mouth-watering appetizers, delicious and perfectly cooked meals, and beautiful wines. In the midst of our week of hiking, filled with PBJ lunches and granola, and evenings of grilling at our rented cabin, this was the *perfect* spot for a nice meal out one evening. Highly recommend, and will be thinking about our delicious steaks (2 beef coulotte, 1 bison) and roasted chicken meals for awhile. Oh, and that meatball appetizer. Oh, and that delicious blood orange salad... That scrumptious warm olive oil cake for dessert... My mouth is watering just thinking about it all! Service was excellent, professional, and friendly. Lovely decor.

The food was fabulous, the staff was attentive, and the ambiance was hip! We really enjoyed our time at the Bitterroot Bistro and highly recommend you check it out!

Food was so great!!! But timing on the service was really poor. We were there on Monday so not a crazy busy Saturday. It’s a very small dining room, but it took over an hour for entrees to come out. For an 8pm reso that was a 9:15 dinner time. I’d def go back, maybe this was a fluke, but it def hurts the dining experience to be starving when your food gets to you.

We ordered the trout and it was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very small and cozy.

Phenomenal food. The best in Bozeman and really nice staff. Not a fancy place which is great but the food is 5 star. Among the best coulotte and trout we’ve ever had. And wine very well priced and excellent. a gem.

Matt was all over it with service. He even packaged up our leftovers, which doesn’t happen much these days. It was our anniversary and it would have been even nicer if something small was done to make it special. I’ve been spoiled before with restaurants writing something on the dish or giving a small sweet. I did appreciate that our anniversary was noted by our server. The salad was yummy but a little less dressing would have made it even better. If I visited again, I’d just ask for it in the side. The beef pastries and burger were tasty. The decor was lovely. Our little booth was charming. Overall a nice time as we passed through town.
