Located in downtown Bozeman, Bitterroot Bistro is based on Montana values, using Montana ingredients, focusing on Montana food. Phenomenal food. The best in Bozeman and really nice staff. Not a fancy place which is great but the food is 5 star. Among the best coulotte and trout we’ve ever had. And wine very well priced and excellent. a gem.

Matt was all over it with service. He even packaged up our leftovers, which doesn’t happen much these days. It was our anniversary and it would have been even nicer if something small was done to make it special. I’ve been spoiled before with restaurants writing something on the dish or giving a small sweet. I did appreciate that our anniversary was noted by our server. The salad was yummy but a little less dressing would have made it even better. If I visited again, I’d just ask for it in the side. The beef pastries and burger were tasty. The decor was lovely. Our little booth was charming. Overall a nice time as we passed through town.

We were in Bozeman this week (June 14) and had dinner at the Bitterroot Bistro on our last night. In short, the food was excellent and very high quality. I had the Bison Teres Major (which was quite tender and flavorful) , my wife had the Coulotte steak and our friend had the trout. Service was also excellent. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as the seating is limited.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! The bison tartar, salad, and trout were amazing!

My husband had a delicious pork chop perfectly cooked. I had the roasted sweet potato over succotash that was light and fresh. Nice wine and good service made for a special evening out. We look forward to returning soon.

We had a Wonderful meal at Bitterroot! The trout was perfectly cooked. The chicken was delicious as well. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!!

We lucked out as it happened to be happy hour all day on Thursday! Great food and drinks. Our server was very nice and attentive.
