Bistrot La Minette
Our goal is for Bistrot La Minette to be accessible to all guests that enjoy superb food and wine, and the company of their companions: hoping to evoke their best memories-or dreams-of traditional French bistrot dining.
Terrine de Foie Gras
Housemade foie gras terrine, brioche toast, apple butter, crème fraîche, black pepper honey, toasted pecans, frisee
Bibb lettuce, mustard tarragon vinaigrette, chives
Red wine-braised beef short rib, fingerling potatoes, classic Burgundian garnish
So happy to be back at this restaurant. Like seeing a friend again.
Escargots, truffle tagliatelle, chicken, pork cheeks and short ribs. All excellent. Mille feuille for dessert.
This was our second visit to Bistrot La Minette and the experience was exceptional, as before. Ariella was our server and she did a phenomenal job with suggestions and wine pairings. We had tagliatelle with truffles and pork belly confite for starters. My wife ordered the special, skate wing, and I had the pork cheek. It was all very, very delicious.
The desserts were excellent and I highly recommend the Mille Feuille aux Framboises. Incredible ending to our meal.
The restaurant was at 50% capacity due to Covid restrictions, but that did not deter the staff from fulfilling their destiny. The food was fresh and tasty. The ambiance is typical French bistro, with marble and iron cafe tables and tin ceiling.
Highest recommendation (run, don't walk).
Came back for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. The seared foie gras is always a favorite and one of the few restaurants in Philadelphia where you can consistently find it. And the rabbit in mustard sauce was too die for! The cocktails are always unique and perfectly prepared. Parking, unfortunately, is an issue but we take Uber from Bucks County. It adds another $120 to the evening but we’ll worth it in our opinion.
A bistro in the French mode; a more modest menu but really well done on those offerings. Would have liked one filet option for one of the party.
Lovely evening at La Minette after a concert, although dining outdoors is a bit chilly (even with the heat lamps). Foie gras and truffles are a wonderful holiday indulgence, boeff bourginon will keep you warm.
Glad to see the restaurant recovered from the broken water main at the corner. We came for a birthday and our first real dining experience since COVID started. It was awesome.
Went with a friend for a special dinner to celebrate the release of the new Beaujolais vintage. A perfectly thought-out meal with simple ingredients done expertly. Wines complemented and amplified the food. A fantastic value for four courses and three different wines. Continues to remain the best French food in Philly.
Wonderful, as Always!
Natasha, our server, was lovely 😊
30th anniversary dinner at our favorite place. Escargot and beef Bourginon and a Cote du Rhône. Superb as usual. Stellar service as well
Our server ( Arielle?) was fantastic….crisp service all night. Food was outstanding, chefs were extremely flexible in preparing gluten free meals. Ambience and total experience was exceptional….looking forward to returning.
Took my friend to Bistro la Minet for his birthday. We'd both been wanting to try the place for some time so this seemed like a good occasion. The decor was quite comfortable and felt like being in Europe. The drinks list was especially interesting since they have pastis, something I hadn't had outside of France. Our server Ariella, was very friendly and knowledgeable about both drinks and food and helped guide us to the rabbit and beef bourguignon with a side of Brussels sprouts grilled in duck fat. She ended the night by presenting my friend with "Happy Birthday" written on a plate in chocolate syrup - birthday candle included! The whole experience was very nice and I'm sure I'll find myself back there again soon.
It’s a little slice of Paris, and our absolute favorite restaurant in Philadelphia! The seared foie gras is literally life changing, but every dish was impeccable; from the olive tapenade amuse-bouche to the fresh made butter, every detail was perfect. I cannot recommend Bistro enough.
Best, French-style bistro in Philadelphia. There are others - very good ones - but none taste or feel as much like Paris as La Minette does.
Outstanding, is all I can say. The food was delicious, our server, Arianna, was fantastic and they made my wife and I's 5 year wedding anniversary dinner feel very special. 💯% would recommend and will be returning!
The food was terrific! We loved our waitress who made great suggestions. The drinks were yummy and the wine list was well curated. I’m not a vegetarian but got the beet gnocchi which was in a buttery, citrusy sauce with a nice crumbled cheese. My husband got the rabbit which was served in a classic French mustard sauce which he thought was delicious. My son got the pork cheeks and his friend got beef bourguignon and they loved them. We’ll definitely go back.
Fantastic food, even better service, really great quality from the restaurant and the whole staff was so helpful and responsive. I don’t know a better place I would recommend
Wonderful experience and meal- service was fantastic
Taste buds taken back to France in the 90’s
Great neighborhood restaurant in Queen Village that will take you back to Paris 😊
Bistro never disappoints! Delicious food and lovely servers. And the bread!!! OMG!
We always enjoy the Bistro.
Bistrot has been a favorite of ours for years, and its and our absence during the Covid shut-down didn't in any way change our minds. Food is out of this world. Service is well-timed but not invasive. The restaurant decor is wonderfully French. It's difficult to beat if you want a perfect dinner and night out.
So looked forward to returning to a favorite post-Covid and was very disappointed. Won’t be back. Ugh!
One of our favorite French restaurants in the city. Great wine and cognac selections as well. Some of the best service in the city as well, and the staff truly value the restaurant and the customers experience. I can never speak more highly of this restaurant!
Excellent meal. Extraordinary service. Merci, Sebastian!
We had a very nice dinner. Ate outside which was lovely even if the street is all torn up due to a water main break. There was no thru traffic which was great! We will be back!
Simple, authentic, French bistro. Delicious. A neighborhood gem.
Wonderful overall experience; from appetizers to dessert everything was delicious.
As always, a wonderful meal in a comfortable, charming setting. We love coming to Bistrot La Minette.
The other couple we were with said it is the best French food they’ve had and they French food foodies.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and made you feel like you walked into a Cafe in France. Our waiter was exceptional, advising us on different dishes and giving a little back information about the dishes. The Miller Trout and the Rabbit were the favorites among the four of us. We ordered four different entrees and did a family style in the center of the table so we could each taste everything.
It is rare to get a trifecta meal experience but this was it…ambiance, service and food all 5 stars!!
This is my third time going back, as always excellent service and delicious food. One of my favorite French restaurant
Absofreakinglutely Amazing! As always!
Food beyond belief, Awesome server - Ariela
Tremendous cocktails! Sazerac and an excellent Calvados Sidecar!!!
Great place for a Birthday celebration. Will come back again.
Mediocre “ French” food. This place is highly overrated.
Another unbelievably delicious meal! Our first meal back since the pandemic and it did not disappoint. Our only wish is that there were a few more appetizers on the menu....we would have ordered more if there was something else to order. That said, the trout was as good as ever and the wine superb. We loved it!
Food was awesome. Amazed me for how they cook the dishes. We ordered pork cheek and rabbit. Pork felt like melting in my mouth and rabbit was also tender. The appetizer special foie gras was also nice and not too fatty. Would like to come back again in the future.
Great service. Food was delicious. Very nice chef Peter.
Our anniversary are special to us. We expect the best and received exactly that. Bistrot lived up and excelled our expectations. All aspects. Tough to park there but well worth it. We were from out of town but OpenTable found us the spot based on reviews and rating. Outstanding!!!
We ate outside
The construction and sewer pipes surrounded us
We still enjoyed the experience
Sebastian was awesome
We ate outside and it was relatively quiet despite the revery from the next Block. Service was impeccable. Food tasted great, I had the snails & rabbit in a mustard sauce, while the other three had the Fois Gra special & rabbit liver which I got a taste of and it was smooth and delicious. Trout was the other entree and they loved it as well. My husband selected a perfect white to go with the fish & a wonderful rich red to go with the rabbit. Dessert was a raspberry in puff pastry and a chocolate pot de cream. This was our first time back since Covid and we throughly enjoyed every morsel! We have never had a bad meal here and look forward to coming back soon.
